1ദൈവമേ, പൂര്‍വ്വകാലത്തു ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ നാളുകളില്‍ നീ ചെയ്ത പ്രവൃത്തി അവര്‍ ഞങ്ങളോടു വിവരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ ചെവികൊണ്ടു ഞങ്ങള്‍ കേട്ടുമിരിക്കുന്നു;
1We have heard with our ears, God; our fathers have told us, what work you did in their days, in the days of old.
2നിന്റെ കൈകൊണ്ടു നീ ജാതികളെ പുറത്താക്കി ഇവരെ നട്ടു; നീ വംശങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിച്ചു, ഇവരെ പരക്കുമാറാക്കി.
2You drove out the nations with your hand, but you planted them. You afflicted the peoples, but you spread them abroad.
3തങ്ങളുടെ വാളുകൊണ്ടല്ല അവര്‍ ദേശത്തെ കൈവശമാക്കിയതു; സ്വന്തഭുജംകൊണ്ടല്ല അവര്‍ ജയം നേടിയതു; നിന്റെ വലങ്കയ്യും നിന്റെ ഭുജവും നിന്റെ മുഖപ്രകാശവും കൊണ്ടത്രേ; നിനക്കു അവരോടു പ്രീതിയുണ്ടായിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.
3For they didn’t get the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but your right hand, and your arm, and the light of your face, because you were favorable to them.
4ദൈവമേ, നീ എന്റെ രാജാവാകുന്നു; യാക്കോബിന്നു രക്ഷ കല്പിക്കേണമേ.
4You are my King, God. Command victories for Jacob!
5നിന്നാല്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ വൈരികളെ തള്ളിയിടും; ഞങ്ങളോടു എതിര്‍ക്കുംന്നവരെ നിന്റെ നാമത്തില്‍ ചവിട്ടിക്കളയും.
5Through you, will we push down our adversaries. Through your name, will we tread them under who rise up against us.
6ഞാന്‍ എന്റെ വില്ലില്‍ ആശ്രയിക്കയില്ല; എന്റെ വാള്‍ എന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കയുമില്ല.
6For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.
7നീയത്രേ ഞങ്ങളെ വൈരികളുടെ കയ്യില്‍ നിന്നു രക്ഷിച്ചതു; ഞങ്ങളെ പകെച്ചവരെ നീ ലജ്ജിപ്പിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു;
7But you have saved us from our adversaries, and have shamed those who hate us.
8ദൈവത്തില്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ നിത്യം പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ നാമത്തിന്നു എന്നും സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്യുന്നു. സേലാ.
8In God we have made our boast all day long, we will give thanks to your name forever. Selah.

9But now you rejected us, and brought us to dishonor, and don’t go out with our armies.
10വൈരിയുടെ മുമ്പില്‍ നീ ഞങ്ങളെ പുറം കാട്ടുമാറാക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളെ പകെക്കുന്നവര്‍ ഞങ്ങളെ കൊള്ളയിടുന്നു.
10You make us turn back from the adversary. Those who hate us take spoil for themselves.
11ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നുള്ള ആടുകളെപ്പോലെ നീ ഞങ്ങളെ ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു; ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില്‍ ഞങ്ങളെ ചിന്നിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
11You have made us like sheep for food, and have scattered us among the nations.
12നീ നിന്റെ ജനത്തെ വിലവാങ്ങാതെ വിലക്കുന്നു. അവരുടെ വിലകൊണ്ടു സമ്പത്തു വര്‍ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.
12You sell your people for nothing, and have gained nothing from their sale.
13നീ ഞങ്ങളെ അയല്‍ക്കാര്‍ക്കും അപമാനവിഷയവും ചുറ്റുമുള്ളവര്‍ക്കും നിന്ദയും പരിഹാസവും ആക്കുന്നു.
13You make us a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and a derision to those who are around us.
14നീ ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില്‍ ഞങ്ങളെ പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലിന്നും വംശങ്ങളുടെ നടുവില്‍ തലകുലുക്കത്തിന്നും വിഷയം ആക്കുന്നു.
14You make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.
15നിന്ദിച്ചു ദുഷിക്കുന്നവന്റെ വാക്കു ഹേതുവായും ശത്രുവിന്റെയും പ്രതികാരകന്റെയും നിമിത്തമായും
15All day long my dishonor is before me, and shame covers my face,
16എന്റെ അപമാനം ഇടവിടാതെ എന്റെ മുമ്പില്‍ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ മുഖത്തെ ലജ്ജ എന്നെ മൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
16At the taunt of one who reproaches and verbally abuses, because of the enemy and the avenger.
17ഇതൊക്കെയും ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ഭവിച്ചു; ഞങ്ങളോ നിന്നെ മറന്നിട്ടില്ല; നിന്റെ നിയമത്തോടു അവിശ്വസ്തത കാണിച്ചിട്ടുമില്ല.
17All this has come on us, yet have we not forgotten you, Neither have we been false to your covenant.
18നീ ഞങ്ങളെ കുറുക്കന്മാരുടെ സ്ഥലത്തുവെച്ചു തകര്‍ത്തുകളവാനും കൂരിരുട്ടുകൊണ്ടു ഞങ്ങളെ മൂടുവാനും തക്കവണ്ണം
18Our heart has not turned back, neither have our steps strayed from your path,
19ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയം പിന്തിരികയോ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കാലടികള്‍ നിന്റെ വഴി വിട്ടു മാറുകയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല.
19Though you have crushed us in the haunt of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.
20ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നാമത്തെ ഞങ്ങള്‍ മറക്കയോ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൈകളെ അന്യദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കു മലര്‍ത്തുകയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍
20If we have forgotten the name of our God, or spread forth our hands to a strange god;
21ദൈവം അതു ശോധന ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കുമോ? അവന്‍ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ രഹസ്യങ്ങളെ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.
21won’t God search this out? For he knows the secrets of the heart.
22നിന്റെ നിമിത്തം ഞങ്ങളെ ദിവസംപ്രതി കൊല്ലുന്നു; അറുപ്പാനുള്ള ആടുകളെപ്പോലെ ഞങ്ങളെ എണ്ണുന്നു.
22Yes, for your sake we are killed all day long. We are regarded as sheep for the slaughter.
23കര്‍ത്താവേ, ഉണരേണമേ; നീ ഉറങ്ങുന്നതു എന്തു? എഴുന്നേല്‍ക്കേണമേ; ഞങ്ങളെ എന്നേക്കും തള്ളിക്കളയരുതേ.
23Wake up! Why do you sleep, Lord? The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” Arise! Don’t reject us forever.
24നീ നിന്റെ മുഖത്തെ മറെക്കുന്നതും ഞങ്ങളുടെ കഷ്ടവും പീഡയും മറന്നുകളയുന്നതും എന്തു?
24Why do you hide your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression?
25ഞങ്ങള്‍ നിലത്തോളം കുനിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ വയറു ഭൂമിയോടു പറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
25For our soul is bowed down to the dust. Our body clings to the earth.
26ഞങ്ങളുടെ സഹായത്തിന്നായി എഴുന്നേല്‍ക്കേണമേ; നിന്റെ ദയനിമിത്തം ഞങ്ങളെ വീണ്ടെടുക്കേണമേ;
26Rise up to help us. Redeem us for your loving kindness’ sake.
