1ആകയാല്‍ നാം എന്തു പറയേണ്ടു? കൃപ പെരുകേണ്ടതിന്നു പാപം ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്ക എന്നോ? ഒരുനാളും അരുതു.
1What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2പാപസംബന്ധമായി മരിച്ചവരായ നാം ഇനി അതില്‍ ജീവിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?
2May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?
3അല്ല, യേശു ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടു ചേരുവാന്‍ സ്നാനം ഏറ്റവരായ നാം എല്ലാവരും അവന്റെ മരണത്തില്‍ പങ്കാളികളാകുവാന്‍ സ്നാനം ഏറ്റിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള്‍ അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ?
3Or don’t you know that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
4അങ്ങനെ നാം അവന്റെ മരണത്തില്‍ പങ്കാളികളായിത്തീര്‍ന്നു സ്നാനത്താല്‍ അവനോടു കൂടെ കുഴിച്ചിടപ്പെട്ടു; ക്രിസ്തു മരിച്ചിട്ടു പിതാവിന്റെ മഹിമയാല്‍ ജീവിച്ചെഴുന്നേറ്റതു പോലെ നാമും ജീവന്റെ പുതുക്കത്തില്‍ നടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ.
4We were buried therefore with him through baptism to death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.
5അവന്റെ മരണത്തിന്റെ സാദൃശ്യത്തോടു നാം ഏകീഭവിച്ചവരായെങ്കില്‍ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ സാദൃശയത്തോടും ഏകീഭവിക്കും.
5For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection;
6നാം ഇനി പാപത്തിന്നു അടിമപ്പെടാതവണ്ണം പാപശരീരത്തിന്നു നീക്കം വരേണ്ടതിന്നു നമ്മുടെ പഴയ മനുഷ്യന്‍ അവനോടുകൂടെ ക്രൂശിക്കപ്പെട്ടു എന്നു നാം അറിയുന്നു.
6knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.
7അങ്ങനെ മരിച്ചവന്‍ പാപത്തില്‍ നിന്നു മോചനം പ്രാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
7For he who has died has been freed from sin.
8നാം ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടു കൂടെ മരിച്ചു എങ്കില്‍ അവനോടുകൂടെ ജീവിക്കും എന്നു വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.
8But if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him;
9ക്രിസ്തു മരിച്ചിട്ടു ഉയിര്‍ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റിരിക്കയാല്‍ ഇനി മരിക്കയില്ല; മരണത്തിന്നു അവന്റെ മേല്‍ ഇനി കര്‍ത്തൃത്വമില്ല എന്നു നാം അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.
9knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no more has dominion over him!
10അവന്‍ മരിച്ചതു പാപസംബന്ധമായി ഒരിക്കലായിട്ടു മരിച്ചു; അവന്‍ ജീവിക്കുന്നതോ ദൈവത്തിന്നു ജീവിക്കുന്നു.
10For the death that he died, he died to sin one time; but the life that he lives, he lives to God.
11അവ്വണ്ണം നിങ്ങളും പാപ സംബന്ധമായി മരിച്ചവര്‍ എന്നു ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവില്‍ ദൈവത്തിന്നു ജീവിക്കുന്നവര്‍ എന്നും നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ എണ്ണുവിന്‍ .
11Thus consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
12ആകയാല്‍ പാപം നിങ്ങളുടെ മര്‍ത്യശരീരത്തില്‍ അതിന്റെ മോഹങ്ങളെ അനുസരിക്കുമാറു ഇനി വാഴരുതു,
12Therefore don’t let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.
13നിങ്ങളുടെ അവയവങ്ങളെ അനീതിയുടെ ആയുധങ്ങളായി പാപത്തിന്നു സമര്‍പ്പിക്കയും അരുതു. നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ മരിച്ചിട്ടു ജീവിക്കുന്നവരായും നിങ്ങളുടെ അവയവങ്ങളെ നീതിയുടെ ആയുധങ്ങളായും ദൈവത്തിന്നു സമര്‍പ്പിച്ചുകൊള്‍വിന്‍ .
13Neither present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
14നിങ്ങള്‍ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്നല്ല, കൃപെക്കത്രെ അധീനരാകയാല്‍ പാപം നിങ്ങളില്‍ കര്‍ത്തൃത്വം നടത്തുകയില്ലല്ലോ.
14For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace.
15എന്നാല്‍ എന്തു? ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്നല്ല കൃപെക്കത്രെ അധീനരാകയാല്‍ നാം പാപം ചെയ്ക എന്നോ? ഒരു നാളും അരുതു.
15What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under law, but under grace? May it never be!
16നിങ്ങള്‍ ദാസന്മാരായി അനുസരിപ്പാന്‍ നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ സമര്‍പ്പിക്കയും നിങ്ങള്‍ അനുസരിച്ചു പോരുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു ദാസന്മാര്‍ ആകുന്നു എന്നു അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? ഒന്നുകില്‍ മരണത്തിന്നായി പാപത്തിന്റെ ദാസന്മാര്‍, അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ നീതിക്കായി അനുസരണത്തിന്റെ ദാസന്മാര്‍ തന്നേ.
16Don’t you know that to whom you present yourselves as servants to obedience, his servants you are whom you obey; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?
17എന്നാല്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ പാപത്തിന്റെ ദാസന്മാര്‍ ആയിരുന്നുവെങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളെ പഠിപ്പിച്ച ഉപദേശരൂപത്തെ ഹൃദയപൂര്‍വ്വം അനുസരിച്ചു
17But thanks be to God, that, whereas you were bondservants of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching whereunto you were delivered.
18പാപത്തില്‍നിന്നു സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം ലഭിച്ചു നീതിക്കു ദാസന്മാരായിത്തീര്‍ന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്നു സ്തോത്രം.
18Being made free from sin, you became bondservants of righteousness.
19നിങ്ങളുടെ ജഡത്തിന്റെ ബലഹീനതനിമിത്തം ഞാന്‍ മാനുഷരീതിയില്‍ പറയുന്നു. നിങ്ങളുടെ അവയവങ്ങളെ അധര്‍മ്മത്തിന്നായി അശുദ്ധിക്കും അധര്‍മ്മത്തിന്നും അടിമകളാക്കി സമര്‍പ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഇപ്പോള്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ അവയവങ്ങളെ വിശുദ്ധീകരണത്തിന്നായി നീതിക്കു അടിമകളാക്കി സമര്‍പ്പിപ്പിന്‍ .
19I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh, for as you presented your members as servants to uncleanness and to wickedness upon wickedness, even so now present your members as servants to righteousness for sanctification.
20നിങ്ങള്‍ പാപത്തിന്നു ദാസന്മാരായിരുന്നപ്പോള്‍ നീതിയെ സംബന്ധിച്ചു സ്വതന്ത്രരായിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.
20For when you were servants of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.
21നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു അന്നു എന്തൊരു ഫലം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു? ഇപ്പോള്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ലജ്ജ തോന്നുന്നതു തന്നേ. അതിന്റെ അവസാനം മരണമല്ലോ.
21What fruit then did you have at that time in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.
22എന്നാല്‍ ഇപ്പോള്‍ പാപത്തില്‍നിന്നു സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം പ്രാപിച്ചു ദൈവത്തിന്നു ദാസന്മാരായിരിക്കയാല്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ലഭിക്കുന്ന ഫലം വിശുദ്ധീകരണവും അതിന്റെ അന്തം നിത്യജീവനും ആകുന്നു.
22But now, being made free from sin, and having become servants of God, you have your fruit of sanctification, and the result of eternal life.
23പാപത്തിന്റെ ശമ്പളം മരണമത്രേ; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കൃപാവരമോ നമ്മുടെ കര്‍ത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവില്‍ നിത്യജീവന്‍ തന്നേ.
23For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
