1यहूदातील सर्व लोकांबद्दल यिर्मयाला मिळालेला देवाचा संदेश असा आहे. यहोयाकीम राजाच्या कारकिर्दीच्या चौथ्या वर्षी हा संदेश आला. यहोयाकीम योशीयाचा मुलगा होता. यहोयाकीम राजाच्या कारकिर्दींचे चौथे वर्ष हे बाबेलचा राजा नबुखद्नेस्सर ह्याच्या कारकिर्दीचे पाहिलेच वर्ष होते.
1The word that hath been unto Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, — it [is] the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, —
2यहूदा आणि यरुशलेम येथील लोकांना यिर्मयाने पुढील संदेश ऐकविला:
2Which Jeremiah the prophet hath spoken concerning all the people of Judah, even unto all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying:
3गेली 23 वर्षे मी परमेश्वराचे संदेश पुन्हा पुन्हा तुम्हाला सांगत आहे. यहूदाचा राजा आमोन ह्याचा मुलगा योशीया ह्याच्या कारकिर्दीच्या 13 व्या वर्षापासून मी संदेष्टा आहे. मी तेव्हापासून आजपावेतो तुम्हाला परमेश्वराकडून आलेले संदेश ऐकविले आहेत. पण तुम्ही ऐकले नाही.
3`From the thirteenth year of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah, and unto this day — this three and twentieth year — hath the word of Jehovah been unto me, and I speak unto you, rising early and speaking, and ye have not hearkened;
4परमेश्वराने, त्याच्या सेवकांना संदेष्ट्यांना पुन्हा पुन्हा तुमच्याकडे पाठविले पण तुम्ही त्यांचे ऐकले नाही. तुम्ही त्यांच्याकडे लक्षसुद्धा दिले नाही.
4And Jehovah hath sent unto you all His servants, the prophets, rising early and sending, and ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear, saying:
5ते संदेष्टे म्हणाले, “तुमची राहणी बदला. त्या वाईट गोष्टी करु नका. तुम्ही तुमचे वागणे बदललेत, तर तुम्ही, परमेश्वराने तुम्हाला आणि तुमच्या पूर्वजांना दिलेल्या देशात, परत जाऊ शकाल. त्याने तुम्हाला ही भूमी कायमची राहण्यास दिली होती.
5`Turn back, I pray you, each from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell on the ground that Jehovah hath given to you and to your fathers from age unto age,
6दुसऱ्या दैवतांना अनुसरु नका. त्यांची सेवा वा पूजा करु नका. एखाद्या माणसाने तयार केलेल्या मूर्तींची पूजा करु नका. त्यामुळे मला तुमचा रागच येतो. असे करुन तुम्ही स्वत:लाच दुखविता.
6And ye do not go after other gods to serve them, and to bow yourselves to them, nor do ye provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands, and I do no evil to you;
7“पण तुम्ही माझे ऐकले नाही.” हा परमेश्वराकडून आलेला संदेश आहे. “माणासाने घडविलेल्या मूर्तीची तुम्ही पूजा केली. त्यामुळे मला राग आला त्यामुळे तुम्ही दुखविले जाता एवढेच.”
7And ye have not hearkened unto Me — an affirmation of Jehovah — so as to provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands for evil to you.
8सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर असे म्हणाला, “तुम्ही माझ्या संदेशाकडे लक्ष दिले नाही.
8`Therefore thus said Jehovah of Hosts, Because that ye have not obeyed My words,
9म्हणून मी लवकरच उत्तरेकडील कुळांना बोलावून घेईन.” हा परमेश्वराचा संदेश आहे. “मी लवकरच बाबेलचा राजा नबुखद्नेस्सर ह्याला निरोप पाठवीन. तो माझा सेवक आहे. मी त्यांना यहूदा व यहूदातील लोक यांच्याविरुध्द उठवीन. तुमच्या देशाभोवतालच्या राष्ट्रांच्यासुद्धा विरोधात मी त्यांना आणीन. मी त्या सर्व देशांचा नाश करीन. मी त्या भूमीचे कायमचे ओसाड वाळवंट बनवीन. लोक ते देश व त्याचा वाईट प्रकारे झालेला नाश पाहतील व हळहळतील.
9Lo, I am sending, and have taken all the families of the north — an affirmation of Jehovah — even unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and have brought them in against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations round about, and have devoted them, and appointed them for an astonishment, and for a hissing, and for wastes age-during.
10त्या ठिकाणच्या सुखाच्या व आनंदाच्या कल्लोळांचा मी शेवट करीन. तेथे नव वर वधूंचा सुखाचा शब्द उमटणार नाही, जात्यांचा आवाज येणार नाही आणि दिव्यातला प्रकाश नाहीसा होईल.
10And I have destroyed from them the voice of rejoicing, and the voice of joy, voice of bridegroom and voice of bride, noise of millstones, and the light of lamps.
11ती सगळी भूमी वैराण वाळवंट होईल तेथील सर्व लोक, 70 वर्षांपर्यत बाबेलच्या राजाचे दास होतील.
11And all this land hath been for a waste, for an astonishment, and these nations have served the king of Babylon seventy years.
12“पण 70 वर्षांनंतर मी बाबेलच्या राजाला शिक्षा करीन. मी बाबेल राष्ट्रालाही शिक्षा करीन.” हा परमेश्वराकडून आलेला संदेश आहे. “मी खास्द्यांनी केलेल्या पापाबद्दल त्यांच्या देशाला शिक्षा करीन. मी त्या भूमीचे रुपांतर कायमच्या वाळवंटात करीन.
12`And it hath come to pass, at the fulness of seventy years, I charge against the king of Babylon, and against that nation — an affirmation of Jehovah — their iniquity, and against the land of the Chaldeans, and have appointed it for desolations age-during.
13बाबेलमध्ये खूप वाईट गोष्टी घडतील हे मी सांगितले आहेच त्या सर्व गोष्टी घडतीलच. यिर्मयाने त्या परक्या देशाबद्दल भविष्यकथन केलेच आहे आणि या पुस्तकात सर्व थोक्याचे इशारे लिहिले आहेत.
13And I have brought in on that land all My words that I have spoken against it, all that is written in this book, that Jeremiah hath prophesied concerning all the nations.
14हो! बाबेलच्या लोकांना खूप राष्ट्रांचे आणि मोठ्या राजांचे दास्य करावे लागेल. त्यांच्या कृत्यांबद्दल योग्य अशीच शिक्षा त्यांना मी देईन.”
14For laid service on them — also them — have many nations and great kings, and I have given recompence to them according to their doing, and according to the work of their hands.
15परमेश्वराने, इस्राएलच्या देवाने मला या गोष्टी सांगितल्या: “यिर्मया, माझ्या हातातील द्राक्षरसाचा प्याला घे. तो माझ्या क्रोधाचा द्राक्षरस आहे. मी तुला वेगवेगळ्या राष्ट्रात पाठवीत आहे. त्या सर्व राष्ट्रांना हा द्राक्षरस प्यायला लाव.
15`For thus said Jehovah God of Israel unto me, Take the wine cup of this fury out of My hand, and thou hast caused all the nations to drink it unto whom I am sending thee;
16ते हा द्राक्षरस पितील. मग ते वांत्या करतील आणि वेड्याप्रमाणे वागतील. मी लवकरच त्यांच्यावर शत्रूला हल्ला करायला लावणार असल्याने ते असे वागतील.”
16And they have drunk, and shaken themselves and shewn themselves foolish, because of the sword that I am sending among them.
17मग मी देवाच्या हातातून द्राक्षरसाचा प्याला घेतला. देवाने मला पाठवलेल्या त्या सर्व राष्ट्रांत मी गेलो आणि तेथील लोकांना त्यातील द्राक्षरस प्यायला लावला.
17`And I take the cup out of the hand of Jehovah, and cause all the nations to drink unto whom Jehovah sent me:
18मी यहूदा आणि यरुशलेम यामधील लोकांसाठी तो द्राक्षरस ओतला. यहूदातील राजे आणि नेते ह्यांना मी द्राक्षरस प्यायला लावला. ते वैराण वाळवंट व्हावेत, त्या ठिकाणाचा सर्वनाश व्हावा, तो नाश पाहून लोकांनी हायहाय करावे व त्याबद्दल कोसावे म्हणून मी असे केले आणि तसेच घडले. यहूदाचे आता तेच झाले आहे!
18Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, And its kings, its heads, To give them to waste, to astonishment, To hissing, and to reviling, as [at] this day.
19मी मिसरच्या फारोलाही द्राक्षरस प्यायला भाग पाडले. परमेश्वराच्या क्रोधाने भरलेल्या प्याल्यातून मी मिसरच्या अधिकाऱ्यांना, महत्वाच्या नेत्यांना आणि लोकांना द्राक्षरस प्यायला लावला.
19Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, And his heads, and all his people,
20मी सर्व अरब व ऊस देशातील राजे यांनाही द्राक्षरस पिण्यास दिला. मी पलिष्ट्यांच्या देशातील अश्कलोन, गज्जा, एक्रोन या शहरांतील व अश्दोद शहरामधील उरलेले अशा सर्व राजांना त्या प्याल्यातून द्राक्षरस पिण्यास भाग पाडले.
20And all the mixed people, And all the kings of the land of Uz, And all the kings of the land of the Philistines, And Ashkelon, and Gazzah, and Ekron, And the remnant of Ashdod,
21मग मी अदोम, मवाब व अम्मोन यामधील राजांनाही द्राक्षरस प्यायला लावले.
21Edom, and Moab, and the sons of Ammon,
22सोरच्या व सीदोनच्या सर्व राजांनाही मी द्राक्षरस पाजला. खूप दूरच्या देशातील सर्व राजांनाही मी द्राक्षरस दिला.
22And all the kings of Tyre, And all the kings of Zidon, And the kings of the isle that [is] beyond the sea,
23ददान, तेमा व बूज येथील लोकांनाही मी त्या प्याल्यातून प्यायला लावले. मंदिरात दाढीच्या कडा कापणाऱ्या सर्व लोकांना मी द्राक्षरस पिण्यास भाग पाडले.
23Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, And all cutting the corners [of the beard],
24अरबस्तानातील सर्व राजांनाही मी द्राक्षरस प्यायला दिला. हे राजे वाळवंटात राहतात.
24And all the kings of Arabia, And all the kings of the mixed people, Who are dwelling in the wilderness,
25जिमरी, एलाम व मेदी येथील सर्व राजांना मी द्राक्षरस पाजला.
25And all the kings of Zimri, And all the kings of Elam, And all the kings of Media,
26उत्तरेकडील सर्व, दूरच्या व जवळच्या राजांना मी ही द्राक्षरस पिण्यास भाग पाडले. एकामागून एकाला मी तो प्यायला लावला. पृथ्वीवरील सर्व राज्यांना मी परमेश्वरच्या क्रोधाने भरलेल्या प्याल्यातून प्यायला लावले. पण बाबेलचा राजा, सर्व राष्ट्रांच्या नंतर या प्याल्यातून पिईल.
26And all the kings of the north, The near and the far off, one unto another, And all the kingdoms of the earth, That [are] on the face of the ground, And king Sheshach drinketh after them.
27“यिर्मया, तू त्या राष्ट्रांना सांग की सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर, इस्राएलचा देव म्हणतो, ‘माझ्या क्रोधाच्या प्याल्यातून प्या. त्यामुळे झिंगा आणि वांत्या करा. पडा आणि परत उठू नका. उठू नका कारण तुम्हाला ठार करण्यासाठी मी तलवार पाठवीत आहे.’
27And thou hast said unto them: Thus said Jehovah of Hosts God of Israel, Drink ye, yea drink abundantly, And vomit, and fall, and rise not, Because of the sword that I am sending among you.
28“ते लोक तुझ्या हातातून प्याला घेण्याचे नाकारतील. ते त्यातील द्राक्षरस पिण्यास नकार देतील पण तू त्यांना सांग ‘सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर पुढील गोष्टी सांगतो. तुम्ही खरोखरच ह्या प्याल्यातून प्यावे.
28And it hath come to pass, When they refuse to receive the cup out of thy hand to drink, That thou hast said unto them: Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, Ye do certainly drink.
29माझ्या नावाने प्रसिध्द असलेल्या यरुशलेम नगरीत वाईट गोष्टी घडवून आणण्यास मी अगोदरच सुरवात केली आहे. आपल्याला शिक्षा होणार नाही असे तुम्हाला वाटण्याचा संभव आहे. पण तुम्ही चुकता आहात. तुम्हाला शिक्षा होईलच. मी पृथ्वीवरील सर्व माणसांना मारण्यासाठी तलवारीला साद घालीत आहे.”‘ हा परमेश्वराचा संदेश आहे.
29For lo, in the city over which My name is called, I am beginning to do evil, And ye — ye are entirely acquitted! Ye are not acquitted, for a sword I am proclaiming, For all inhabitants of the land, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts.
30“यिर्मया, तू त्यांना पुढील संदेश दे: ‘परमेश्वर वरुन गर्जना करीत. आहे तो त्याच्या पवित्र मंदिरातून गर्जना करीत आहे. तो त्याच्या कुरणाला (लोकांना) ओरडतो. द्राक्षरस काढताना, द्राक्षे तुडविताना, लोक ज्याप्रमाणे मोठ्याने गातात, त्याप्रमाणे देवाच्या आरोळ्या मोठ्या आहेत.
30And thou, thou dost prophesy unto them all these words, and hast said unto them: Jehovah from the high place doth roar, And from His holy habitation giveth forth His voice, He surely roareth for His habitation, A shout as of treaders down, God answereth all the inhabitants of the land,
31तो आवाज पृथ्वीवरील सर्व लोकांपर्यंत पसरतो. हा सगळा गोंगाट कशासाठी आहे? परमेश्वर सर्व राष्ट्रांतील लोकांना शिक्षा करीत आहे. परमेश्वराने लोकांच्याविरुद्ध आपले म्हणणे मांडले. त्यांने लोकांचा न्यायनिवाडा केला. आणि तो आता तलवारीने दुष्ट लोकांना ठार मारीत आहे.” हा परमेश्वराचा संदेश आहे.
31Wasting hath come unto the end of the earth, For a controversy hath Jehovah with nations, He hath executed judgment for all flesh, The wicked! He hath given them to the sword, An affirmation of Jehovah.
32सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर म्हणतो, “अरिष्ट एका देशातून दुसऱ्या देशात लवकरच पसरेल. तो पृथ्वीवरच्या अती दूरच्या ठिकाणाहून वादळाप्रमाणे येईल.”
32Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Lo, evil is going out from nation to nation, And a great whirlwind is stirred up from the sides of the earth.
33त्या लोकांची प्रेते पृथ्वीच्या एका टोकाकडून दुसऱ्या टोकाकडे पोहोचतील. त्यांच्यासाठी कोणीही रडणार नाही. कोणीही ती गोळा करुन पुरणार नाही. शेणाप्रमाणे ती जमिनीवर पडतील.
33And the pierced of Jehovah have been in that day, From the end of the earth even unto the end of the earth, They are not lamented, nor gathered, nor buried, For dung on the face of the ground they are.
34मेंढपाळांनो (नेत्यानो) तुम्ही मेंढ्यांना (लोकांना) वळवावे. प्रमुख नेत्यांनो, रडायला सुरवात करा. मेंढ्यांच्या (लोकांच्या) नेत्यांनो, जमिनीवर दु:खाने लोळा. का? कारण ही तुमच्या कत्तलीची वेळ आहे. परमेश्वर तुम्हाला मोडील आणि सगळीकडे पसरवील. तुम्ही फुटक्या मडक्याच्या तुकड्याप्रमाणे सगळीकडे पसराल.
34Howl, ye shepherds, and cry, And roll yourselves, ye honourable of the flock, For full have been your days, For slaughtering, and [for] your scatterings, And ye have fallen as a desirable vessel.
35मेंढपाळांना लपायला कोठेही जागा राहणार नाही. ते नेते पळून जाऊ शकणार नाहीत.
35And perished hath refuge from the shepherds, And escape from the honourable of the flock.
36मग मेंढपाळांच्या (नेत्यांचा) आरोळ्या ऐकू येतात. त्यांचे रडणे ऐकून परमेश्वर त्यांची कुरणें (देश) नष्ट करीत आहे.
36A voice [is] of the cry of the shepherds, And a howling of the honourable of the flock, For Jehovah is spoiling their pasture.
37त्या शांत कुरणांचा (जागांचा) नाश केला जाईल आणि ती ओसाड वाळवटे होतील. परमेश्वर रागावल्याने असे घडले.
37And the peaceable habitations have been cut down, Because of the fierceness of the anger of Jehovah.
38परमेश्वर गुहेत राहाणाऱ्या भयंकर सिंहाप्रमाणे आहे. परमेश्वर रागावला आहे आणि त्याचा क्रोध त्या लोकांना इजा करील. त्यांचा देश ओसाड वाळवंट होईल.
38He hath forsaken, as a young lion, His covert, Surely their land hath become a desolation, Because of the oppressing fierceness, And because of the fierceness of His anger!
