1मी खरा द्राक्षवेल आणि माझा पिता माळी आहे.
1`I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman;
2तो माझ्यातील फळ न देणारी प्रत्येक फांदी तोडून टाकतो. ज्या प्रत्येक फांद्या फळ देतात त्यांनी अधिक फळ घावे म्हणून त्या द्राक्षवेलीला तो साफ करतो.
2every branch in me not bearing fruit, He doth take it away, and every one bearing fruit, He doth cleanse by pruning it, that it may bear more fruit;
3जे वचन मी तुम्हांला सांगितले, त्यामुळे तुम्ही आता स्वच्छ झालाच आहा.
3already ye are clean, because of the word that I have spoken to you;
4तुम्ही माझ्यामध्ये राहा आणि मी तुम्हांमध्ये राहीन. जसा फाटा वेलात राहिल्यावचून त्याच्याने फळ देता येत नाही तसे माझ्यामध्ये राहिल्याशिवाय तुम्हांला फळ देता येणार नाही.
4remain in me, and I in you, as the branch is not able to bear fruit of itself, if it may not remain in the vine, so neither ye, if ye may not remain in me.
5“मी वेल आहे, तुम्ही फाटे आहा, जो माझ्यामध्ये राहतो व मी त्याच्यामध्ये राहतो, तोच पुष्कळ फळ देतो. कारण माझ्यापासून वेगळे असल्यास तुमच्याने काही होत नाही.
5`I am the vine, ye the branches; he who is remaining in me, and I in him, this one doth bear much fruit, because apart from me ye are not able to do anything;
6कोणी माझ्यामध्ये राहिला नाही तर तो फाट्याप्रमाणे बाहेर टाकला जातो. तो वाळून जातो मग त्याला गोळा करून अग्नीत टाकतात व ते जाळण्यात येते.
6if any one may not remain in me, he was cast forth without as the branch, and was withered, and they gather them, and cast to fire, and they are burned;
7“तुम्ही माझ्यामध्ये राहिलात व माझी वचने तुम्हामध्ये राहिली तर जे काही तुम्हांला पाहिजे ते तुम्ही मागा म्हणजे ते तुम्हांस मिळेल.
7if ye may remain in me, and my sayings in you may remain, whatever ye may wish ye shall ask, and it shall be done to you.
8तुम्ही पुष्कळ फळ दिल्यानेच माझ्या पित्याचे गौरव होते, आणि तुम्ही माझे शिष्य व्हाल.
8`In this was my Father glorified, that ye may bear much fruit, and ye shall become my disciples.
9जशी पित्याने माझ्यावर प्रीति केली आहे तशीच मीही तुम्हांवर प्रीति केली आहे. माझ्या प्रीतीत राहा.
9According as the Father did love me, I also loved you, remain in my love;
10ज्याप्रमाणे मी आपल्या पित्याच्या आज्ञा पाळल्या म्हणून त्याच्या प्रीतित राहतो तसेच तुम्ही माझ्या आज्ञा पाळाल तर माझ्या प्रीतीत राहाल.
10if my commandments ye may keep, ye shall remain in my love, according as I the commands of my Father have kept, and do remain in His love;
11माझा आनंद तुम्हांमध्ये राहावा आणि तुमचा आनंद पूर्ण व्हावा, म्हणून मी तुम्हांला या गोष्टी सांगितल्या आहेत.
11these things I have spoken to you, that my joy in you may remain, and your joy may be full.
12जशी मी तुम्हांवर प्रीति केली तशीच तुम्ही एकमेकांवर प्रीति करा. ही माझी आज्ञा आहे.
12`This is my command, that ye love one another, according as I did love you;
13आपल्या मित्रासाठी मरावे, यापेक्षा कोणाचीही प्रीति मोठी नाही.
13greater love than this hath no one, that any one his life may lay down for his friends;
14मी आज्ञा करतो तसे तुम्ही वागता तर तुम्ही माझे मित्र आहात.
14ye are my friends, if ye may do whatever I command you;
15आता मी तुम्हांला सेवक म्हणत नाही, कारण आपला धनी काय करतो हे सेवकाला माहीत नसते, पण मी तुम्हांला मित्र म्हणतो कारण ज्या गोष्टी मी आपल्या पित्याकडून ऐकल्या त्या सर्व तुम्हांला कळविल्या आहेत.
15no more do I call you servants, because the servant hath not known what his lord doth, and you I have called friends, because all things that I heard from my Father, I did make known to you.
16तुम्ही मला निवडले नाही, तर मी तुम्हांला निवडले आणि नेमले आहे. यासाठी की, तुम्ही जाऊन फळ द्यावे. आणि तुमचे फळ टिकावे, यासाठी की जे काही तुम्ही माझ्या नावाने पित्याजवळ मागाल ते त्याने तुम्हांस द्यावे
16`Ye did not choose out me, but I chose out you, and did appoint you, that ye might go away, and might bear fruit, and your fruit might remain, that whatever ye may ask of the Father in my name, He may give you.
17तुम्ही एकमेकांवर प्रीति करावी म्हणून या गोष्टी मी तुम्हांस आज्ञा देऊन सांगतो.
17`These things I command you, that ye love one another;
18“जर जग तुमचा द्वेष करते, तर लक्षात ठेवा की, पहिल्यांदा जगाने माझासुध्दा द्वेष केलेला आहे.
18if the world doth hate you, ye know that it hath hated me before you;
19तुम्ही जर जगाचे असता तर जगाने तुम्हावर, जशी ते स्वत:वर करतात तशी प्रीति केली असती, पण तुम्ही जगाचे नसल्याने, आणि तुमची जगातून निवड केल्याने, जग तुमचा द्वेष करते.
19if of the world ye were, the world its own would have been loving, and because of the world ye are not — but I chose out of the world — because of this the world hateth you.
20जे शब्द तुम्हांला सांगितले ते लक्षात ठेवा. कोणताही नोकर आपल्या मालकापेक्षा श्रेष्ठ नसतो. त्यांनी जर माझी छळणूक केली तर ते तुमचीही करतील, त्यांनी जर माझी शिकवण पाळली तर ते तुमचीसुद्वा पाळतील.
20`Remember the word that I said to you, A servant is not greater than his lord; if me they did persecute, you also they will persecute; if my word they did keep, yours also they will keep;
21माझ्या नावामुळे ते तुमच्याशी अशाप्रकारे वागतील, कारण ज्याने मला पाठविले, त्याला ते ओळखत नाहीत.
21but all these things will they do to you, because of my name, because they have not known Him who sent me;
22जर मी आलो नसतो आणि त्यांना सांगितले नसते तर ते पापबद्धल दोषी ठरले नसते. आता त्यांना त्यांच्या पापाविषयी सबब सांगता येणार नाही.
22if I had not come and spoken to them, they were not having sin; but now pretext they have not for their sin.
23जो माझा द्वेष करतो तो माझ्या पित्याचाही द्वेष करतो.
23`He who is hating me, doth hate also my Father;
24मी त्या लोकांमध्ये अशा गोष्टी केल्या ज्या दुसऱ्या कोणीही केल्या नाहीत. मी जर त्या गोष्टी केल्या नसत्या, तर पापबद्धल ते दोषी ठरले नसते, पण आता त्यांनी ते चमत्कार पाहिले आहेत आणि तरीही त्यांनी माझा व माझ्या पित्याचा द्वेष केला.
24if I did not do among them the works that no other hath done, they were not having sin, and now they have both seen and hated both me and my Father;
25परंतु नियमशास्त्रात लिहिलेले पूर्ण व्हावे म्हणून हे घडले: ‘कारण नसताना त्यांनी माझा द्वेष केला.’
25but — that the word may be fulfilled that was written in their law — They hated me without a cause.
26“पित्यापासून मी साहाय्यकर्ता पाठवीन, साहाय्यकर्ता हा सत्याचा आत्मा आहे. तो पित्यापासन येतो. जेव्हा तो येतो तेव्हा तो माझ्याविषयी सांगतो.
26`And when the Comforter may come, whom I will send to you from the Father — the Spirit of truth, who from the Father doth come forth, he will testify of me;
27आणि तुम्हीसुद्वा माझ्याविषयी लोकांना सांगाल. कारण तुम्ही माझ्याबरोबर सुरुवातीपासून आहात.”
27and ye also do testify, because from the beginning ye are with me.
