1शब्बाथवारानंतरचा पहिला दिवस आला. पहाटेस मरीया मग्दालिया, मरीया नावाची दुसरी स्त्री कबर पाहावयास तेथे गेल्या.
1And on the eve of the sabbaths, at the dawn, toward the first of the sabbaths, came Mary the Magdalene, and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre,
2त्यावेळी तेथे मोठा भूकंप झाला. देवाचा दूत स्वर्गातून तेथे आला. तो देवदूत कबरेकडे गेला. त्याने कबरेच्या तोंडावरची धोंड बाजूला केली. नंतर तो देवदूत त्या घोंडेवर बसला.
2and lo, there came a great earthquake, for a messenger of the Lord, having come down out of heaven, having come, did roll away the stone from the door, and was sitting upon it,
3चमकणाऱ्या विजेसारखा तो देवदूत दिसत होता. त्याचे कपडे बफर्ासरखे शुभ्र होते.
3and his countenance was as lightning, and his clothing white as snow,
4कबरेवर पहारा करणारे शिपाई, देवदूत पाहून खूप घाबरले, ते थरथर कापू लागले. आणि ते मेलेल्या माणसासारखे झाले.
4and from the fear of him did the keepers shake, and they became as dead men.
5देवदूत म्हणाला, ʇभिऊ नका, ज्याला वधस्तंभावर खिळले होते त्या येशूला तुम्ही पाहत आहात.
5And the messenger answering said to the women, `Fear not ye, for I have known that Jesus, who hath been crucified, ye seek;
6पण तो तेथे नाही. तो म्हणाला होता, त्याप्रमाणे त्याला मरणातून उठविण्यात आले आहे. या आणि जेथे त्याचे शरीर ठेवले होते ती जागा पाहा.
6he is not here, for he rose, as he said; come, see the place where the Lord was lying;
7आता ताबडतोब निघा आणि त्याच्या शिष्यांना सांगा : येशू मरणातून उठला आहे. तो गालीलात जाणार आहे. तो तुमच्या अगोदर तेथे जाईल, तुम्ही त्याला तेथे पाहाल.ʈ नंतर देवदूत म्हणाला, ʇमी तुम्हांला सर्व काही सांगितले आहे.ʈ
7and having gone quickly, say ye to his disciples, that he rose from the dead; and lo, he doth go before you to Galilee, there ye shall see him; lo, I have told you.`
8म्हणून त्या स्त्रिया लगबगीने कबरेजवळून निघाल्या. त्या फार घाबरलेल्या होत्या. परंतु फार आनंदितही झाल्या होत्या. जे काही घडले ते सांगण्यासाठी त्या धावत निघाल्या.
8And having gone forth quickly from the tomb, with fear and great joy, they ran to tell to his disciples;
9अचानक येशू त्यांना भेटला आणि तो त्यांना म्हणाला, ʇशांती असो.ʈ त्या त्याच्याजवळ आल्या. त्यांनी त्याचे पाय धरले आणि त्याची उपासना केली.
9and as they were going to tell to his disciples, then lo, Jesus met them, saying, `Hail!` and they having come near, laid hold of his feet, and did bow to him.
10मग येशू त्यांना म्हणाला, ʇमला अडवू नका. माझ्या भावांना सांगा की त्यांनी गालीलात जावे. तेथेच त्यांची माझी भेट होईल.ʈ
10Then saith Jesus to them, `Fear ye not, go away, tell to my brethren that they may go away to Galilee, and there they shall see me.`
11स्त्रिया शिष्यांना सांगण्यासाठी गेल्या. तेव्हा कबरेवरील पहारेकरी शिपायांतील काही जण नगरात गेले आणि त्यांनी घडलेले सर्व मुख्य याजकांना सांगितले.
11And while they are going on, lo, certain of the watch having come to the city, told to the chief priests all the things that happened,
12नंतर याजक जाऊन वडीलजनांना भेटले. आणि त्यांनी एक बेत रचला. त्यांनी शिपायांना पुष्कळ पैसे देऊन असे म्हणण्यास सांगितले.
12and having been gathered together with the elders, counsel also having taken, they gave much money to the soldiers,
13ते म्हणाले, ʇलोकांना असे सांगा की, आम्ही रात्री झोपेत असताना येशूचे शिष्य आले आणि त्यांनी त्याचे शरीर चोरुन नेले.
13saying, `Say ye, that his disciples having come by night, stole him — we being asleep;
14हे जर राज्यापालाच्या कानावर गेले तर आम्ही त्याला पटवून देऊ आणि तुम्हांला काही होऊ देणार नाही.ʈ
14and if this be heard by the governor, we will persuade him, and you keep free from anxiety.`
15मग शिपायांनी पैसे घेतले व याजकांनी सांगितले तसे केले. आणि ही गोष्ट यहूदी लोकांत आजवर प्रचलित आहे.
15And they, having received the money, did as they were taught, and this account was spread abroad among Jews till this day.
16अकरा शिष्य गालीलास निघून गेले. येशूने सांगितलेल्या डोंगरावर ते हजर झाले.
16And the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mount where Jesus appointed them,
17त्या डोंगरावर येशू त्यांना दिसला. त्यांनी त्याची उपासना केली. पण तो येशू आहे यावर शिष्यांपैकी काहींचा विश्वास बसला नाही.
17and having seen him, they bowed to him, but some did waver.
18तेव्हा येशू त्याच्याकडे आला आणि म्हणाला, ʇस्वर्गात आणि पृथ्वीवर मला सर्व अधिकार देण्यात आला आहे.
18And having come near, Jesus spake to them, saying, `Given to me was all authority in heaven and on earth;
19म्हणून तुम्ही जा आणि राष्ट्रातील लोकांस माझे शिष्य करा. पिता, पुत्र आणि पवित्र आत्मा यांच्या नावाने बाप्तिस्मा द्या.
19having gone, then, disciple all the nations, (baptizing them — to the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
20आणि जे काही मी तुम्हांला शिकविले आहे ते त्या लोकांना करायला शिकवा. आणि पाहा, काळाच्या शेवटापर्यंत मी सदोदित तुमच्याबरोबर राहीन.ʈ
20teaching them to observe all, whatever I did command you,) and lo, I am with you all the days — till the full end of the age.`
