¹ख्रिस्त येशूकरीता कैदी झालेला पौल, व आपला बंधु तिमथ्य यांजकडून, आमचा प्रिय बंधु व सहकारी फिलेमोन

¹Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timotheus the brother, to Philemon our beloved and fellow-worker,

²आणि आमची बहीण अफ्फिया, अर्खिप्प, आमचा सहसैनिक, आणि तुझ्या घरात जी मंडळी एकत्र येते, यांना:

²and Apphia the beloved, and Archippus our fellow-soldier, and the assembly in thy house:

³देव आमचा पिता याजपासून व प्रभु येशू ख्रिस्तापासून कृपा व शाति असो.

³Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ!

⁴जेव्हा मी प्रार्थनेत तुझी आठवण करतो, तेव्हा नेहमी मी माझ्या देवाचे उपकार मानतो.

⁴I give thanks to my God, always making mention of thee in my prayers,

⁵कारण तुइया प्रेमाविषयी आणि तुझ्या विश्वासाविषयी, जो विश्वास तू प्रभु येशूवर ठेवतोस त्याविषयी मी ऐकतो, च्या देवाच्या सर्व लोकांसाठी जे प्रेम तुझ्याकडे आहे. त्याविषयी मी ऐकतो,

⁵hearing of thy love and faith that thou hast unto the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints,

⁶मी अशी प्रार्थना करतो की, ज्या विश्वासाचा सहभागी तू आमच्याबरोबर आहेस, तो विश्वास आमच्यामध्ये असलेल्या ख्रिस्त येशूमधील सर्व चांगल्या गोष्टी त्या सखोलपणे समजण्यासाठी तुला मार्गदर्शन करोत.

⁶that the fellowship of thy faith may become working in the full knowledge of every good thing that [is] in you toward Christ Jesus;

⁷तुझ्या प्रेमामुळे मला मोठा आनंद आणि समाधान मिळाले आहे. कारण बंधु, तुझ्या प्रयत्नांमुळे देवाच्या लोकांची अंत:करणे संजीवित झाली आहेत.

⁷for we have much joy and comfort in thy love, because the bowels of the saints have been refreshed through thee, brother.

⁸म्हणून, जरी मी तुझा बंधु म्हणून तुला तुझे योग्य कर्तव्य करण्याविषयी आज्ञा करुन सांगण्याचे धैर्य असले, तरी

⁸Wherefore, having in Christ much boldness to command thee that which is fit —

⁹[This verse may not be a part of this translation]

⁹because of the love I rather entreat, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ;

¹⁰मी तुला माझ्या मुलासमान असलेला अनेसिम, ज्याच्याशी मी तुरुंगात असताना पित्याप्रमाणे वागलो, त्याजविषयी कळकळीने विनवितो की,

¹⁰I entreat thee concerning my child — whom I did beget in my bonds — Onesimus,

¹¹पूर्वी तो तुला निरुपयोगी होता पण आता तो तुलाच नाही तर मलासुद्धा उपयोगी आहे.

¹¹who once was to thee unprofitable, and now is profitable to me and to thee,

¹²मी त्याला तुझ्याकडे परत पाठवीत आहे. मी असे म्हणायला हवे की, मी त्याला पाठवीत असताना जणू काय माझे ह्रदयच पाठवित आहे.

¹²whom I did send again, and thou him (that is, my own bowels) receive,

¹³त्याला येथे माझ्याजवळ ठेवायला मला आवडेल यासाठी की सुवार्तेमुळे मिळालेल्या तुरुंगवासामध्ये त्याने तुझ्या जागी माझी मदत करावी.

¹³whom I did wish to retain to myself, that in thy behalf he might minister to me in the bonds of the good news,

¹⁴परंतु तुझ्या संमतीशिवाय मला काहीही करायचे नव्हते. यासाठी की तुझे कोणतेही चांगले कार्य दडपणामुळे होऊ नये तर तुझ्या खुशीने व्हावे.

¹⁴and apart from thy mind I willed to do nothing, that as of necessity thy good deed may not be, but of willingness,

¹⁵कदाचित त्याला थोड्या काळासाठी तुझ्यापासून दूर घेतले जाणे यासाठी झाले असावे की, तू त्याला कायमचे तुझ्याजवळ घ्यावे.

¹⁵for perhaps because of this he did depart for an hour, that age-duringly thou mayest have him,

¹⁶एक गुलाम म्हणून नव्हे, उलट गुलामापेक्षाही चांगला एक भाऊ म्हणून घ्यावे. मी त्याच्यावर खूप प्रेम करतो. पण तू त्याच्यावर त्याहीपेक्षा अधिक प्रेम करशील, फक्त एक मनुष्य म्हणूनच नव्हे, तर प्रभूमधील एक बंधु म्हणून.

¹⁶no more as a servant, but above a servant — a brother beloved, especially to me, and how much more to thee, both in the flesh and in the Lord!

¹⁷तर जर मग तू मला खरोखर भागीदार समजतोस, तर माझे स्वागत जसे तू केले असतेस तसे त्याचे स्वागत कर.

¹⁷If, then, with me thou hast fellowship, receive him as me,

¹⁸आणि जर त्याने तुझे काही नुकसान केले असेल किंवा काही देणे लागत असेल तर ते माझ्या नावावर लाव.

¹⁸and if he did hurt to thee, or doth owe anything, this to me be reckoning;

¹⁹मी, पौल, हे माझ्या स्वत:च्या हातांनी लिहीत आहे: मी याची तुला परतफेड करीन. (मी तुला हे सांगण्याची गरज नाही की, तुझे स्वत:चे जीवन तू मला देणे लागतोस.)

¹⁹I, Paul did write with my hand, I — I will repay; that I may not say that also thyself, besides, to me thou dost owe.

²⁰होय बंधु, प्रभूमध्ये मला तुझ्यापासून काही फायदा हवा आहे. ख्रिस्तामध्ये माझे अंत:करण उल्हासित कर.

²⁰Yes, brother, may I have profit of thee in the Lord; refresh my bowels in the Lord;

²¹तुझ्या आज्ञाधारकपणाविषयी मला खात्री आहे म्हणून मी तुला लिहीत आहे. मला माहीत आहे की, मी सांगत असलेल्या गोष्टीपेक्षा तू अधिक करशील.

²¹having been confident in thy obedience I did write to thee, having known that also above what I may say thou wilt do;

²²शिवाय कृपा करुन माझ्या विश्रांती करिता खोली तयार करुन ठेव. कारण माझा विश्वास आहे की, तुमच्या प्रार्यनांचा परीणाम म्हणून मला सुरक्षितरीच्या तुमच्या स्वाधीन करण्यात येईल.

²²and at the same time also prepare for me a lodging, for I hope that through your prayers I shall be granted to you.

²³येशू ख्रिस्तामध्ये माझ्यासह बंदिवान एपफ्रास

²³Salute thee doth Epaphras, (my fellow-captive in Christ Jesus,)

²⁴तसेच मार्क, अरिस्तार्ख, देमास व लूक जे माझे सहकाही आहेत, ते सलाम सांगतात.

²⁴Markus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lukas, my fellow-workmen!

²⁵प्रभु येशू ख्रिस्ताची कृपा तुमच्या आत्म्याबरोबर असो. आमेन.

²⁵The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [is] with your spirit! Amen.
