¹म्हणून बंधूनो, देवाच्या दयेमुळे मी तुम्हांला विनवितो की, तुमची शरीरे देवाला संतोष देणारा जिवंत यज्ञ अशी अर्पण करा. ही तुमची आध्यात्मिक सेवा आहे.

¹I call upon you, therefore, brethren, through the compassions of God, to present your bodies a sacrifice — living, sanctified, acceptable to God — your intelligent service;

²आणि यापुढे या जगाच्या आदर्शाप्रमाणे आचरण करु नका, त्याऐवजी तुमच्या मनाच्या नवीनपणामुळे तुमचा बदल होऊ द्या. यासाठी की देवाची पूर्ण आणि त्याला आनंद देणारी उत्तम इच्छा काय आहे हे तुम्हांला कळावे व तिचा तुम्ही स्वीकार करावा.

²and be not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, for your proving what [is] the will of God — the good, and acceptable, and perfect.

³मला देण्यात आलेल्या कृपादानाच्या दृष्टीने मी तुम्हांतील प्रत्येकाला सांगतो की, विचार करण्यास योग्य आहे त्या आपल्या योग्यतेपेक्षा आपणांला अधिक श्रेष्ठ मानू नका. तर देवाने सोपवून दिलेल्या परिमाणाप्रमाणे समंजस असा जो मार्ग त्या दृष्टीने विचार करा.

³For I say, through the grace that was given to me, to every one who is among you, not to think above what it behoveth to think; but to think so as to think wisely, as to each God did deal a measure of faith,

⁴कारण एका शरीरात आपले अनेक अवयव आहेत तरी सर्व अवयवांचे कार्य एकच नसते.

⁴for as in one body we have many members, and all the members have not the same office,

⁵त्याचप्रमाणे, आपण पुष्कळ अंग असून ख्रिस्तामध्ये एक शरीर व एकमेकांचे अवयव आहोत.

⁵so we, the many, one body are in Christ, and members each one of one another.

⁶देवाने दाखविलेल्या दयेनुसार आपणांस निरनिराळी दाने आहेत, जर कोणाला देवाचा संदेश देण्याचे दान आहे तर त्याने ते आपल्या विश्वासाच्या प्रमाणाने उपयोगात आणावे.

⁶And having gifts, different according to the grace that was given to us; whether prophecy — `According to the proportion of faith!`

⁷जर कोणाला सेवेचे दान असेल तर त्याने सेवेला वाहून घ्यावे, कोणाला शिक्षणाचे दान असेल तर त्याने शिक्षणाला वाहून घ्यावे.

⁷or ministration — `In the ministration!` or he who is teaching — `In the teaching!`

⁸कोणाला बोध करण्याचे दान असेल तर त्याने बोध करण्यास वाहून घ्यावे. ज्याला दानधर्म देण्याचे दान असेल त्याने ते सद्हेतूने द्यावे. ज्याला अधिकाराचे दान असेल त्याने दक्षतेने ते काम करावे ज्याला देयेचे दान असेल त्याने आनंदाने दया करावी.

⁸or he who is exhorting — `In the exhortation!` he who is sharing — `In simplicity!` he who is leading — `In diligence?` he who is doing kindness — `In cheerfulness.`

⁹तुमची प्रीति प्रामाणिक असावी. जे वाईट त्याचा द्वेष करा व बऱ्याला चिकटून राहा.

⁹The love unfeigned: abhorring the evil; cleaving to the good;

¹⁰बंधूप्रेमाच्याबाबतीत एकमेकांशी ममतेने वागा, आदराच्या बाबतीत स्वत:पेक्षा इतरांचा बहुमान करा.

¹⁰in the love of brethren, to one another kindly affectioned: in the honour going before one another;

¹¹आस्थेविषयी आळशी होऊ नका. आत्म्यात उत्सुक असा. प्रभूची सेवा करा.

¹¹in the diligence not slothful; in the spirit fervent; the Lord serving;

¹²आपल्या घरात आनंदी राहा. संकटात सहनशील राहा. चिकाठीने प्रार्थना करा.

¹²in the hope rejoicing; in the tribulation enduring; in the prayer persevering;

¹³पवित्र जनांच्या गरजा भागवा. आदरातिथ्य करण्यात तत्पर असा.

¹³to the necessities of the saints communicating; the hospitality pursuing.

¹⁴जे तुमचा छळ करतात त्यांना आशीर्वाद द्या, आशीर्वादच द्या. शाप देऊ नका.

¹⁴Bless those persecuting you; bless, and curse not;

¹⁵जे आनंद करतात त्यांच्याबरोबर आनंद करा. रडणाऱ्यांबररोबर रडा.

¹⁵to rejoice with the rejoicing, and to weep with the weeping,

¹⁶एकमेकांबरोबर ऐक्याने रहा, गर्व करु नका. त्याऐवजी नम्र लोकांच्या सहवासात रहा. स्वत:स शहाणे समजू नका.

¹⁶of the same mind one toward another, not minding the high things, but with the lowly going along; become not wise in your own conceit;

¹⁷कोणाचीही वाईटाबद्दल वाईट अशी फेड करुन नका. सर्व लोकांच्या दृष्टीने चांगले ते करण्याचा प्रयत्न करा.

¹⁷giving back to no one evil for evil; providing right things before all men.

¹⁸शक्य असेल तर ते तुमच्यावर अवलंबून असल्याने सर्व लोकांबरोबर शांतीने राहा.

¹⁸If possible — so far as in you — with all men being in peace;

¹⁹प्रिय बंधूंनो, सूड उगवू नका, देवाच्या रागाला वाट द्या. असे लिहिले आहे, “सूड घेणे माझ्याकडे आहे. मी फेड करीन असे प्रभु म्हणतो.’

¹⁹not avenging yourselves, beloved, but give place to the wrath, for it hath been written, `Vengeance [is] Mine,

²⁰“तुमचा शत्रू भुकेला असल्यास त्यास खावयास द्या, तहानेला असेल तर प्यावयास द्या. कारण असे केल्याने तुम्ही त्याच्या डोक्यावर निखाऱ्यांची रास कराल.” वाइटाने जिंकले जाऊ नका तर चांगल्याने वाइटास जिंका.

²⁰I will recompense again, saith the Lord;` if, then, thine enemy doth hunger, feed him; if he doth thirst, give him drink; for this doing, coals of fire thou shalt heap upon his head;
