¹समस्त इस्राएल लोकांवर राजा शलमोनाची सत्ता होती.

¹King Solomon was king over all Israel.

²त्याला शासनात मदत करणाऱ्या प्रमुख अधिकाऱ्यांनी नावे अशी सामादोकचा मुलगा अजऱ्या हा याजक होता

²These were the princes whom he had: Azariah the son of Zadok, the priest;

³शिशाचे मुलगे अलिहोरेफ आणि अहीया. न्यायालयातील घडामोडींची टिपणे ठेवणे हे त्यांचे काम होते. अहीलूदाचा मुलगा यहोसाफाट हा बखरकार होता.

³Elihoreph and Ahijah, the sons of Shisha, scribes; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, the recorder;

⁴बनाया हा यहोयादाचा मुलगा सेनापती होता. सादोक आणि अब्याथार याजक होते

⁴and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the army; and Zadok and Abiathar were priests;

⁵नाथानचा मुलगा अजऱ्या हा जिल्हाधिकाऱ्यांचा प्रमुख होता. नाथानचा मुलगा जाबूद याजक असून राजाचा सल्लागार होता.

⁵and Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers; and Zabud the son of Nathan was chief minister, the king’s friend;

⁶अहीशार हा राजाच्या महालातील सर्व गोष्टींचा प्रमुख होता. अब्दाचा मुलगा अदोनीराम गुलामांच्या खात्याचा प्रमुख होता.

⁶and Ahishar was over the household; and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the men subject to forced labor.

⁷इस्राएलचे कारभाराच्या सोयीसाठी बारा भाग पाडलेले होते. प्रत्येक भागावर शलमोनाने कारभारी नेमले होते. त्या त्या भागूतून अन्नधान्य गोळा करुन राजाच्या कुटुंबियांना देण्याची त्यांची जबाबदारी होती. बारा कारभाऱ्यापैकी प्रत्येकावर प्रतिवर्षी एक महिना ही पाळी येई. शलमोनाचे साम्राज्य

⁷Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, who provided food for the king and his household: each man had to make provision for a month in the year.

⁸त्या बारा कारभाऱ्यांची नावे अशी: बेन-हूर हा एफ्राईमच्या डोंगराळ प्रदेशावर अधिकारी होता.

⁸These are their names: Ben Hur, in the hill country of Ephraim;

⁹माकस, शालबीम, बेथ-शेमेश व एलोन बेथ-हानान यांच्यावर बेन-देकेर हा कारभारी.

⁹Ben Deker, in Makaz, and in Shaalbim, and Beth Shemesh, and Elon Beth Hanan;

¹⁰अरुबोथ, सीखो आणि हेफेर या प्रांतावर बेन-हेसेद हा कारभाही होता.

¹⁰Ben Hesed, in Arubboth (to him belonged Socoh, and all the land of Hepher);

¹¹बेन-अबीनादाब पूर्ण दोर प्रांतावर होता. शलमोनाची मुलगी टाफाथ ही याची पत्नी.

¹¹Ben Abinadab, in all the height of Dor (he had Taphath the daughter of Solomon as wife);

¹²तानख, मगिद्दो व पूर्ण बेथ-शान म्हणजेच सारतानाजवळ इज्रेएलच्या खाली बेथ-शानापासून अबेल-महोला पर्यंत व यकमामाच्या उतारापर्यंत अहीलूदाचा मुलगा बाना हा होता.

¹²Baana the son of Ahilud, in Taanach and Megiddo, and all Beth Shean which is beside Zarethan, beneath Jezreel, from Beth Shean to Abel Meholah, as far as beyond Jokmeam;

¹³रामोथ-गिलादवर बेन-गेबेर हा प्रमुख होता. गिलादमधील मनश्शेचा मुलगा याईर याची सर्व गावे, बाशानमधील अर्गेब प्रांत हे भाग त्याच्याकडे होते. या भागात भक्कम तटबंदीची आणि दिंडी दखवाजावर पंच धातूचा आगळा असलेली साठ नगरे होती.

¹³Ben Geber, in Ramoth Gilead (to him belonged the towns of Jair the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead; to him belonged the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, sixty great cities with walls and bronze bars);

¹⁴इद्दोचा मुलगा अहीनादाब महनाईम प्रांतावर होता.

¹⁴Ahinadab the son of Iddo, in Mahanaim;

¹⁵नफतालीवर अहीमास होता. त्यानेही शलमोनाची मुलगी बासमथ हिच्याशी लग्न केले होते.

¹⁵Ahimaaz, in Naphtali (he also took Basemath the daughter of Solomon as wife);

¹⁶हूशयाचा मुलगा बाना हा आशेर आणि आलोथ यांच्यावर कारभारी होता.

¹⁶Baana the son of Hushai, in Asher and Bealoth;

¹⁷पारुहाचा मुलगा यहोशाफाट इस्साखारवर होता.

¹⁷Jehoshaphat the son of Paruah, in Issachar;

¹⁸एलाचा मुलगा शिमी बन्यामीनचा कारभारी होता.

¹⁸Shimei the son of Ela, in Benjamin;

¹⁹उरीचा मुलगा गेबेर गिलाद प्रांतावर होता. अमोऱ्यांचा राजा सिहोन आणि बाशानचा राजा ओग हे या प्रांतात राहात होते. गेबेर मात्र त्या प्रांताचा एकमेव कारभारी होता.

¹⁹Geber the son of Uri, in the land of Gilead, the country of Sihon king of the Amorites and of Og king of Bashan; and he was the only officer who was in the land.

²⁰यहूदा आणि इस्राएलमध्ये समुद्रतीरावरील वाळूकणांसरखी अगणित माणसे होती. ती खात, पीत व मजाकरत आनंदाने जगत होती.

²⁰Judah and Israel were many as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking and making merry.

²¹युफ्राटिस नदीपासून पलिष्ट्यांच्या भूमीपर्यंत शलमोनाची सत्ता होती. मिसरच्या सीमेला त्याची हद्द भिडली होती. या देशांकडून शलमोनाला नजराणे येत आणि ते आयुष्यभर त्याचा आदर करीत.

²¹Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the River to the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt: they brought tribute, and served Solomon all the days of his life.

²³ten head of fat cattle, and twenty head of cattle out of the pastures, and one hundred sheep, besides harts, and gazelles, and roebucks, and fattened fowl.

²⁴युफ्राटिस नदीच्या पश्र्चिमेकडील सर्व देशांवर त्याची सत्ता होती. तिफसाहापासून गज्जापर्यंतचा हा प्रदेश होय सर्वत्र शांतता नांदत होती.

²⁴For he had dominion over all on this side the River, from Tiphsah even to Gaza, over all the kings on this side the River: and he had peace on all sides around him.

²⁵दान पासून बैरशेबापर्यंत यहूदा आणि इस्राएलमधील सर्व लोक निर्धास्तपणे व शांततेने राहात होते. आपापल्या अंजीर वृक्षांखाली आणि द्राक्षबागांमध्ये ते निवांत होते.

²⁵Judah and Israel lived safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.

²⁶रथाच्या चारहजार घोड्यांसाठी पागा होत्या. तसेच शलमोनाकडे बारा हजार घोडेस्वार होते.

²⁶Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.

²⁷शिवाय ते बारा कारभारी दर महिन्याला शलमोनाला सर्व जीवनावश्यक गोष्टी पुरवत होते. राजाच्या पंगतीला बसून जेवणाऱ्या सर्वांना ते पुरेसे होते.

²⁷Those officers provided food for king Solomon, and for all who came to king Solomon’s table, every man in his month; they let nothing be lacking.

²⁸रथाच्या आणि स्वारीच्या घोड्यांसाठी पुरेसा पेंढा आणि सातूही ते कारभाशी पुरवीत. नेमलेल्या ठिकाणी प्रत्येकजण हे धान्य आणून टाकी.

²⁸Barley also and straw for the horses and swift steeds brought they to the place where the officers were, every man according to his duty.

²⁹देवाने शलमोनाला भरपूर शहाणपण दिले होते. त्यामुळे त्याला अनेक गोष्टी समजत. त्याची हुषारी कल्पनातीत होती.

²⁹God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and very great understanding, even as the sand that is on the seashore.

³⁰पूर्वेकडील सर्वांपेक्षा शलमोनाचे शहाणपण अधिक होते. मिसरमधल्यापेक्षा ते थोर होते.

³⁰Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east, and all the wisdom of Egypt.

³¹पृथ्वीच्या पाठीवर त्याच्याइतका सूज्ञ कोणी नव्हता. एज्राही एथान तसेच माहोलची मुले हेमान व कल्यकोल व दर्दा यांच्यापेक्षा तो शहाणा होता. त्याचे नाव इस्राएल राष्ट्रा बाहेर सर्वत्र दुमदुमत होते.

³¹For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all the nations all around.

³²आपल्या आयुष्यात त्याने तीनहजार बोध वचने आणि पंधराशे गीते लिहिली.

³²He spoke three thousand proverbs; and his songs were one thousand five.

³³निसगर्विषयीही त्याला ज्ञान होते. लबानोनमधल्या गंधसरुपासून भिंतीतून उगवणाऱ्या वनस्पतीपर्यंत सर्व तऱ्हेच्या झाडांचे त्याला ज्ञान होते. प्राणी, पक्षी आणि सरपटणारे प्राणी यांचेही त्याने वर्णन केले आहे.

³³He spoke of trees, from the cedar that is in Lebanon even to the hyssop that springs out of the wall; he spoke also of animals, and of birds, and of creeping things, and of fish.

³⁴देशादेशीचे लोक त्याच्याकडे ज्ञानार्जनासाठी येत. सर्व राष्ट्रांचे राजे आपल्या पदरच्या हुशार माणसांना शलमोनाकडून ज्ञान घ्यायला पाठवत.

³⁴There came of all peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, who had heard of his wisdom.
