¹हे सत्य वचन आहे: जर कोणी (मंडळीत) अध्यक्ष (सर्वांगीण काळजीवाहक) होण्याची इच्छा धरतो तर तो चांगल्या कामाची इच्छा धरतो.

¹This is a faithful saying: if a man seeks the office of an overseer or, superintendents, or bishops , he desires a good work.

²आता अध्यक्षाने (सर्वागीण काळजीवाहकाने) त्याचे जीवन लोकांनी टीका करु नये अशा रीतीने जगावे. त्याला एकच पत्नी असावी.

²The overseer therefore must be without reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, modest, hospitable, good at teaching;

³तो मद्य पिणारा नसावा, तो हिंसक वृत्तीचा नसावा तर तो सभ्य, आत्मसंयमी, आदरणीय, व आदरातिाथ्य करणारा असावा. तो शिकविण्यात प्रवीण असावा.

³not a drinker, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous;

⁴तो पैशावर प्रेम करणारा नसावा. त्याने त्याच्या कुटुंबाचा चांगला पुढारी असावे आणि त्याने त्याची लेकरे त्याच्या आज्ञेत ठेवावीत.

⁴one who rules his own house well, having children in subjection with all reverence;

⁵(जर एखाद्याला स्वत:च्या कुटुंबाची देखभाल करता येत नसेल तर तो देवाच्या मंडळीची काळजी कशी घेईल?)

⁵(but if a man doesn’t know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the assembly of God?)

⁶तो ह्या कार्यात नवशिका नसावा म्हणजे तो गर्वाने फुगून जाणार नाही. व सैतानाला जशी शिक्षा झाली तशी शिक्षा होऊन त्याचा अंत होणार नाही.

⁶not a new convert, lest being puffed up he fall into the same condemnation as the devil.

⁷आणखी म्हणजे बाहेरच्या लोकांमध्ये त्याचे चांगले नाव असावे. यासाठी की त्याच्यावर टीका होऊ नये. व त्याने सैतानाच्या जाळ्यात सापडू नये

⁷Moreover he must have good testimony from those who are outside, to avoid falling into reproach and the snare of the devil.

⁸त्याचप्रमाणे, विशेष मदतनीस आदरणीय असावेत, ते दुटप्पी नसावेत, ते विश्वसनीय असावेत. ते अति मद्यपान करणारे व दुतोंडे नसावेत आणि अनीतिने पैसे मिळवून श्रीमंत होण्याची त्यांना आवड नसावी.

⁸ Servants or, Deacons. , in the same way, must be reverent, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for money;

⁹देवाने जे आम्हांला प्रकट केले आहे ते आमच्या विश्वासाचे सखोल सत्य त्यांनी स्वच्छ विवेकाने धरून ठेवावे.

⁹holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

¹⁰वडीलांप्रमाणे यांचीसुद्धा प्रथम परीक्षा व्हावी, मग जर त्यांच्या विरुद्ध असे आढळले नाही, तर त्यांनी मदतनीसाचे काम करावे.

¹⁰Let them also first be tested; then let them serve or, serve as deacons if they are blameless.

¹¹त्याचमप्रमाणे, (विशेष मदतनीस) स्रियांनीही आदरणीय असावे. त्या चुगलखोर नसाव्यात. तर सभ्य व प्रत्येक बाबतीत विश्वसनीय असाव्यात.

¹¹Their wives in the same way must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.

¹²जे खास मदतनीस आहेत त्यांना फक्त एकच पत्नी असावी. आणि त्यांनी त्यांच्या मुलांची व कुटुंबाची चांगल्या प्रकारे काळजी घ्यावी.

¹²Let servants or, deacons be husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

¹³कारण मदतनीस म्हणून जे चांगली सेवा करतात, ते त्यांच्यासाठी आदरणीय स्थान मिळवितात आणि ख्रिस्त येशूमध्ये त्यांच्या विश्वासात महान आत्मविश्वास मिळवितात.

¹³For those who have served well or, served well as deacons gain for themselves a good standing, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

¹⁴मी तुझ्याकडे लवकरच येण्याची इच्छा धरून असलो तरी मी तुला या गोष्टी लिहीत आहे.

¹⁴These things I write to you, hoping to come to you shortly;

¹⁵यासाठी की, जरी मला उशीर झाला तरी देवाच्या घरात म्हणजे जिवंत देवाच्या मंडळीत एखाद्या व्यक्तीने कसे वागावे हे तुला माहीत असावे. ती मंडळी सत्याचा खांब व पाया अशी आहे.

¹⁵but if I wait long, that you may know how men ought to behave themselves in God’s house, which is the assembly of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

¹⁶आणि आपल्या सुभक्तीचे रहस्य निर्विवाद मोठे आहे. तो मानवी शरीरात दिसला; आत्म्याने तो नीतिमान ठरविला गेला, देवतूतांनी त्याला पाहीले होते; राष्ट्रांमध्ये तो गाजविला गेला. जगाने त्याच्यावर विश्वास ठेवला आणि स्वर्गामध्ये तो गौरवाने घेतला गेला.

¹⁶Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: God was revealed in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.
