¹शलमोनाची प्रार्थना संपल्याबरोबर स्वर्गातून अग्नी खाली उतरला आणि त्याने होमबली आणि यज्ञार्पणे भस्मसात केली. परमेश्वराच्या लखलखीत तेजाने मंदिर भरुन गेले.

¹Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of Yahweh filled the house.

²त्या तेजाने दिपून याजकांनाही परमेश्वराच्या मंदिरात जाता येईना.

²The priests could not enter into the house of Yahweh, because the glory of Yahweh filled Yahweh’s house.

³थेट स्वर्गातून अग्री खाली येणे आणि परमेश्वराचे तेज मंदिरावर पसरणे या गोष्टी इस्राएलच्या समस्त लोकांनी पाहिल्या. तेव्हा त्यांनी जमिनीपर्यंत लवून नमन केले, परमेश्वराला धन्यवाद दिले आणि ते म्हणाले, “परमेश्वर चांगला आहे त्याची कृपा सर्वकाळ राहाते.”

³All the children of Israel looked on, when the fire came down, and the glory of Yahweh was on the house; and they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped, and gave thanks to Yahweh, saying, “For he is good; for his loving kindness endures for ever.”

⁴मग शलमोनाने आणि सर्व इस्राएल लोकांनी परमेश्वरापुढे यज्ञ केले.

⁴Then the king and all the people offered sacrifice before Yahweh.

⁵राजा शलमोनाने 22,000 बैल आणि 1,20,000 मेंढरे वाहिली. राजा आणि प्रजा यांनी देवाच्या मंदिराची प्रतिष्ठापना केली. ते फक्त उपासनेसाठी वापरायचे होते.

⁵King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand head of cattle, and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the people dedicated God’s house.

⁶याजक आपल्या कामाला सिध्द झाले. परमेश्वराच्या भजनाची वाद्ये घेऊन लेवी ही उभे राहिले. राजा दावीदाने ही वाद्ये परमेश्वराच्या स्तवनासाठी करुन घेतली होती. “परमेश्वराचे स्तवन करा कारण त्याची कृपा चिरंतन आहे” असे याजक आणि लेवी गात होते. लेवींच्या समोर उभे राहून याजक कर्णे वाजवत होते. सर्व इस्राएल लोक तिथे उभे होते.

⁶The priests stood, according to their positions; the Levites also with instruments of music of Yahweh, which David the king had made to give thanks to Yahweh, when David praised by their ministry, saying “For his loving kindness endures for ever.” The priests sounded trumpets before them; and all Israel stood.

⁷मंदिरासमोरचे मधले आवार शलमोनाने पवित्र केले. या जागी त्याने होमार्पणे आणि शांतिअर्पणांची वपा वाहिली. होमार्पणे, अन्नार्पणे आणि वपा यांचे प्रमाण एवढे प्रचंड होते की पितळी वेदीवर ते सर्व मावेना म्हणून मधले आवार त्याने वापरले.

⁷Moreover Solomon made the middle of the court holy that was before the house of Yahweh; for there he offered the burnt offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the bronze altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offering, and the meal offering, and the fat.

⁸शलमोन आणि इस्राएल लोक यांनी सात दिवस हा सण साजरा केला. हमाथच्या वेशीपासून ते मिसरच्या झऱ्या पर्यंतच्या भागातले सगळे इस्राएल लोक इथे आल्यामुळे शलमोनबरोबरचा जमाव खूपच मोठा होता.

⁸So Solomon held the feast at that time seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great assembly, from the entrance of Hamath to the brook of Egypt.

⁹आठव्या दिवशी त्यांनी पवित्र सभा घेतली कारण त्या आधी सात दिवस त्यांनी सण साजरा केला होता. वेदी पवित्र करुन ती परमेश्वराला समर्पण केली. ती फक्त परमेश्वराच्या उपासनेसाठी वापरायची होती. सात दिवस त्यांनी सण साजरा केला.

⁹On the eighth day they held a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.

¹⁰सातव्या महिन्याच्या तेविसाव्या दिवशी शलमोनाने लोकांना घरोघरी परतायला सांगितले. दावीद, शलमोन आणि इस्राएल लोक यांच्यावर परमेश्वराने कृपा केल्यामुळे लोक आनंदी झाले होते. त्यांची अंत:करणे आनंदाने भरुन गेली होती.

¹⁰On the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away to their tents, joyful and glad of heart for the goodness that Yahweh had shown to David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.

¹¹परमेश्वराचे मंदिर आणि राजगृह बांधण्याचे काम शलमोनाने पार पाडले. परमेश्वराचे मंदिर आणि आपले निवासस्थान यांच्याबाबतीत योजलेल्या सर्व गोष्टी त्याने यशस्वीपणे पूर्ण केल्या.

¹¹Thus Solomon finished the house of Yahweh, and the king’s house: and he successfully completed all that came into Solomon’s heart to make in the house of Yahweh, and in his own house.

¹²नंतर एकदा रात्री परमेश्वराने शलमोनाला दर्शन दिले. तो शलमोनाला म्हणाला, “शलमोना तुझी प्रार्थना मी ऐकली आहे. हे स्थळ यज्ञगृह म्हणून मी निवडले आहे.

¹²Yahweh appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him, “I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for a house of sacrifice.

¹³कधी जर मी पर्जन्यवृष्टी होऊ नये म्हणून आकाशमार्ग बंद केला, धान्य फस्त करायला टोळधाड पाठवली किंवा रोगाराईचा प्रसार केला

¹³“If I shut up the sky so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;

¹⁴आणि अशावेळी लोकांनी नम्र होऊन माझा धावा करुन माझ्या दर्शनाची इच्छा बाळगली, दुराचाराचा त्याग केला तर मी स्वार्गातून त्यांच्या हाकेला ओ देईन. त्यांना त्यांच्या पापाची क्षम करीन आणि त्यांची भूमी संकटमुक्त करीन.

¹⁴if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

¹⁵आता माझी दृष्टी या ठिकाणी वळलेली आहे. इथे होणाऱ्या प्रार्थना ऐकायला माझे कान उत्सुक आहेत.

¹⁵Now my eyes shall be open, and my ears attentive, to the prayer that is made in this place.

¹⁶हे मंदिर मी माझे म्हणून निवडले आहे.माझे नाव इथे सदासर्वकाळ राहोव म्हणून मी हे स्थान पवित्र केले आहे. माझी दृष्टी आणि माझे चित्त नेहमी या मंदिराकडे लागलेले असेल.

¹⁶For now have I chosen and made this house holy, that my name may be there forever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.

¹⁷“शलमोना, तुझे वडील दावीद यांच्याप्रमाणेच तू माझ्याशी वागलास, माझ्या आज्ञांचे पालन केलेस, माझे विधी आणि नियम पाळलेस,

¹⁷“As for you, if you will walk before me as David your father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded you, and will keep my statutes and my ordinances;

¹⁸तर मी तुला समर्थ राजा बनवील आणि तुझे राज्य महान होईल. तुझे वडील दावीद यांना मी तसे वचन दिले आहे. त्यांना मी म्हणालो होतो, ‘दावीद तुझ्या घराण्यातील पुरुषच इस्राएलच्या राजपदावर आरुढ होईल.’

¹⁸then I will establish the throne of your kingdom, according as I covenanted with David your father, saying, ‘There shall not fail you a man to be ruler in Israel.’

¹⁹“पण जर माझ्या आज्ञा आणि नियम तू पाळले नाहीस. इतर दैवतांची उपासना व सेवा केलीस,

¹⁹But if you turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

²⁰तर मात्र मी दिलेल्या या भूमीतून इस्राएल लोकांना मी हुसकावून लावीन. माझ्या नावाप्रीत्यर्थ असलेले हे पवित्र मंदिर मी सोडून जाईन. इतकेच नव्हे तर ते इतर देशांमध्ये निंदेचा विषय करीन.

²⁰then I will pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have made holy for my name, I will cast out of my sight, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples.

²¹एकेकाळी पूज्य मानल्या गेलेल्या या मंदिरावरुन जाणाऱ्या येणाऱ्या प्रत्येकाला आता अश्चर्य वाटेल. ते लोक म्हणतील, ‘हा प्रदेश आणि हे मंदिर यांची अशी अवस्था परमेश्वराने का केली बरे?’

²¹This house, which is so high, everyone who passes by it shall be astonished, and shall say, ‘Why has Yahweh done thus to this land, and to this house?’

²²तेव्हा त्यांना इतर लोक सांगतील, ‘कारण आपल्या पूर्वजांचा देव परमेश्वर याचे या इस्राएल लोकांनी ऐकले नाही. या लोकांना या परमेश्वरानेच मिसरमधून बाहेर आणले. तरी हे इतर दैवतांच्या भजनी लागले. त्यांनी त्यांची उपासना व सेवा केली. त्यांनी मूर्तिपूजा सुरु केली. म्हणून इस्राएल लोकांवर परमेश्वराने हे अरिष्ट आणले.”‘

²²They shall answer, ‘Because they abandoned Yahweh, the God of their fathers, who brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and took other gods, worshiped them, and served them. Therefore he has brought all this evil on them.’”
