¹After the uproar had ceased, Paul sent for the disciples, took leave of them, and departed to go into Macedonia.

²मासेदोनियातून जात असताना निरनिराळ्या ठिकाणी असलेल्या येशूच्या अनुयायांना त्याने अनेक गोष्टी सांगून धीर दिला. मग पौल ग्रीसला आला.

²When he had gone through those parts, and had encouraged them with many words, he came into Greece.

³त्या ठिकाणी तो तीन माहिने राहिला. पौल सूरियाला समुद्रमार्गे निघाला असता, यहूदी लोकांनी त्याच्याविरुद्ध कट रचला, हे पाहून त्याने मासेदोनियातून परत फिरण्याचे ठरविले.

³When he had spent three months there, and a plot was made against him by Jews as he was about to set sail for Syria, he determined to return through Macedonia.

⁴त्याच्याबरोबर काही लोक होते ते असे: बिरुया शहराच्या पुरर्ाचा मुलगा सोपत्र. थेस्सलनीका येथील अरिस्तार्ख व सकूंद, दर्बे येथील गायस आणि तीमथ्य, तुखिक व त्रफिम हे आशिया प्रांतातील होते.

⁴These accompanied him as far as Asia: Sopater of Beroea; Aristarchus and Secundus of the Thessalonians; Gaius of Derbe; Timothy; and Tychicus and Trophimus of Asia.

⁵ही माणसे आमच्यापुढे गेली व त्रोवस येथे आमची वाट पाहू लागली.

⁵But these had gone ahead, and were waiting for us at Troas.

⁶बखमीर भाकरीच्या यहूदी सणानंतर आम्ही फिलीप्पै येथून समुद्रमार्गे निघालो आणि पाच दिवसांनी त्रोवस येथे त्यांना जाऊन भेटलो व तेथे सात दिवस राहिलो.

⁶We sailed away from Philippi after the days of Unleavened Bread, and came to them at Troas in five days, where we stayed seven days.

⁷मग आठवड्याच्या पहिल्या दिवशी म्हणजे रविवारी आम्ही सर्व भाकर मोडण्यासाठी एकत्र जमलो असताना, पौल त्यांच्याबरोबर बोलू लागला कारण दुसऱ्या दिवशी निघण्याचा त्याचा बेत होता. तो मध्यरात्रीपर्यंत बोलत राहीला.

⁷On the first day of the week, when the disciples were gathered together to break bread, Paul talked with them, intending to depart on the next day, and continued his speech until midnight.

⁸वरच्या मजल्यावरील ज्या खोलीत आम्ही जमा झालो होतो तेथे पुष्कळ दिवे होते.

⁸There were many lights in the upper room where we TR reads “they” instead of “we” were gathered together.

⁹युतुख नावाचा एक तरुण खिडकीत बसला होता. पौल बोलत असताना त्याच्यावर झोपेचा इतका अंमल चढला की, तो तिसऱ्या मजल्यावरुन खाली पडला, जेव्हा त्याला उचलले, तेव्हा तो मेलेला आढळला.

⁹A certain young man named Eutychus sat in the window, weighed down with deep sleep. As Paul spoke still longer, being weighed down by his sleep, he fell down from the third story, and was taken up dead.

¹⁰पौल खाली गेला व त्याच्यावर ओणवा पडला आणि त्याला आपल्या हातांनी कवेत धरुन म्हणाला, “चिंता करु नका! त्याच्यात अजून जीव आहे.”

¹⁰Paul went down, and fell upon him, and embracing him said, “Don’t be troubled, for his life is in him.”

¹¹मग पौल वर गेला. त्यांने भाकर मोडली व ती खाल्ली. पहाट होईपर्यंत तो त्यांच्याशी बोलला, मग तो गेला.

¹¹When he had gone up, and had broken bread, and eaten, and had talked with them a long while, even until break of day, he departed.

¹²त्या तरुणाला त्यांनी जिवंत असे घरी नेले, त्या सर्वांना फार समाधान झाले.

¹²They brought the boy in alive, and were greatly comforted.

¹³तेथून आम्ही पुढे निघालो व अस्सा या नगरी समुद्रमार्गे निघालो. तेथे आम्ही पौलाला घेणार होतो. त्यानेच अशा प्रकारे योजना केली होती, ती म्हणजे त्याने स्वत: पायी जायचे.

¹³But we who went ahead to the ship set sail for Assos, intending to take Paul aboard there, for he had so arranged, intending himself to go by land.

¹⁴जेव्हा आम्हांला तो अस्सा येथे भेटला, तेव्हा आम्ही त्याला जहजात घेतले, आणि आम्ही मितुलेनाला गेलो.

¹⁴When he met us at Assos, we took him aboard, and came to Mitylene.

¹⁵दुसऱ्या दिवशी आम्ही जहाजाने मितुले नाहून निघालो व खियासमोर आलो. मग दुसऱ्या दिवशी सामा बेट ओलांडले आणि एक दिवसानंतर मिलेतला आलो.

¹⁵Sailing from there, we came the following day opposite Chios. The next day we touched at Samos and stayed at Trogyllium, and the day after we came to Miletus.

¹⁶कारण पौलाने ठरविले होते की इफिस येथे थांबायचे नाही. आशियात त्याला जास्त वेळ थांबायचे नव्हते. तो घाई करीत होता कारण शक्य झाल्यास पन्नासाव्या दिवसाच्या सणसाठी त्याला यरुशलेम येथे राहावयास हवे होते.

¹⁶For Paul had determined to sail past Ephesus, that he might not have to spend time in Asia; for he was hastening, if it were possible for him, to be in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.

¹⁷मिलेताहून इफिस येथे निरोप पाठवून पौलाने तेथील मंडळीच्या वडीलजनांना बोलावून घेतले.

¹⁷From Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called to himself the elders of the assembly.

¹⁸8जेव्हा ते आले, तेव्हा तो त्यांना म्हणाला, “आशियात आलो त्या दिवसापासून मी तुमच्या सोबत असताना कसा राहिलो हे तुम्हांना माहीत आहे.

¹⁸When they had come to him, he said to them, “You yourselves know, from the first day that I set foot in Asia, how I was with you all the time,

¹⁹मी प्रभूची सेवा पूर्ण नम्रतेने व रडून केली. यहूदी लोकांनी केलेल्या कटामुळे निर्माण झालेल्या उपद्रवांना तोंड देत मी त्याची सेवा केली.

¹⁹serving the Lord with all humility, with many tears, and with trials which happened to me by the plots of the Jews;

²⁰जे काही तुमच्या चांगल्यासाठी होते ते तुम्हांला सांगण्यासाठी कोणतीही कसर ठेवली नाही, हे तुम्हांना माहीत आहे. आणि या गोष्टी जाहीरपणे व घराघरातून सांगण्यासाठी मी कधीही मागेपुढे पाहिले नाही.

²⁰how I didn’t shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, teaching you publicly and from house to house,

²¹पश्चाताप करुन देवाकडे वळण्याविषयी आणि आपल्या प्रभु येशूवरील विश्वासाविषयी यहूदी व ग्रीक लोकांना सारखीच साक्ष दिली.

²¹testifying both to Jews and to Greeks repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus. TR adds “Christ”

²²आणि आता आत्म्याच्या आज्ञेने यरुशलेमला चाललो आहे, आणि तेथे माझ्याबाबतीत काय घडेल हे माहीत नाही.

²²Now, behold, I go bound by the Spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there;

²³मला फक्त एकच गोष्ट माहीत आहे की प्रत्येक शहरात पवित्र आत्मा मला सावध करतो. तुरुंगवास व संकटे माझी वाट पाहत आहेत हे तो मला सांगतो

²³except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions wait for me.

²⁴मी माइया जीवनाविषयी काळजी करीत नाही. सर्वांत महत्वाची गोष्ट म्हणजे मी माझे काम पूर्ण करणे. प्रभु येशूने जे काम मला दिले ते मला पूर्ण करायला पाहिजे - ते काम म्हणजे- देवाच्या कृपेबद्दल (दयाळूपणबद्दल) ची सुवार्ता लोकांना सांगितली पाहिजे.

²⁴But these things don’t count; nor do I hold my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify to the Good News of the grace of God.

²⁵“राच्याची करीत ज्या लोकांत मी फिरलो त्या तुम्हांतील कोणालाही मी पुन्हा कधीही दिसणार नाही हे आता मला माहीत आहे.

²⁵“Now, behold, I know that you all, among whom I went about preaching the Kingdom of God, will see my face no more.

²⁶म्हणून मी तुम्हांला जाहीरपणे सांगतो की, सर्वांच्या रक्तासंबंधाने मी निर्दोष असा आहे.

²⁶Therefore I testify to you this day that I am clean from the blood of all men,

²⁷देवाची संपूर्ण इच्छा काय आहे हे प्रगट करण्यास मी कधीही मागेपुढे पाहिलेले नाही.

²⁷for I didn’t shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.

²⁸तुमची स्वत:ची व देवाच्या सर्व लोकांची, ज्याना देवाने तुम्हांला दिलेले आहे, त्यांची काळजी घ्या. कळपाची (देवाच्या लोकांची) काळजी घेण्याचे काम पवित्र आत्म्याने तुम्हांला दिलेले आहे. तुम्ही मंडळीसाठी मेंढपाळासारखे असले पाहिजे. ही मंडळी देवाने स्वत:चे रक्त देऊन विकत घेतली.

²⁸Take heed, therefore, to yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the assembly of the Lord and TR, NU omit “the Lord and” God which he purchased with his own blood.

²⁹मला माहीत आहे की, मी गेल्यावर तुमच्यामध्ये भयंकर असे दुष्ट लांडगे येतील. ते कळपाला सोडणार नाहीत.

²⁹For I know that after my departure, vicious wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

³⁰तुमच्यामधूनसुद्धा लोक उठतील, चुकीचे असे तुम्हांला शिकवून आपल्या मागे घेऊन जातील.

³⁰Men will arise from among your own selves, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.

³¹यासाठी सावध राहा. तुम्हांतील प्रत्येकाला गेले तीन वर्षे डोळ्यांत अश्रु आणून सावध करण्याचे मी कधीच थांबविले नाही हे आठवा.

³¹Therefore watch, remembering that for a period of three years I didn’t cease to admonish everyone night and day with tears.

³²आणि आता मी तुम्हांला देवाच्या व वचनाच्या कृपेच्या अधीन करतो. जी तुमची वाढ करण्यासाठी समर्थ आहे, व सर्व पवित्र केलेल्यांमध्ये वतन द्यावयाला समर्थ आहे.

³²Now, brothers, The word for “brothers” here and where the context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” I entrust you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build up, and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

³³मी कोणाच्याही सोन्याचा, चांदीचा व कपड्यांचा लोभ धरला नाही.

³³I coveted no one’s silver, or gold, or clothing.

³⁴मी आपल्या स्वत:च्या व माझ्याबरोबर राहणाऱ्यांच्या गरजा माझ्या हातांनी भागविल्या हे तुम्हांला चांगले माहीत आहे.

³⁴You yourselves know that these hands served my necessities, and those who were with me.

³⁵अशा रीतीने मी तुम्हास उदाहरण घालून दिले आहे की जे दुर्बल आहेत अशांना आपण स्वत: मेहनत करुन मदत केली पाहिजे. व प्रभु येशूचे शब्द लक्षात ठेवले पाहिजेत. तो स्वत: म्हणाला, ‘घेण्यापेक्षा देणे अधिक आशीर्वादाचे असते.”‘

³⁵In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring you ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

³⁶आणि हे बोलल्यावर पौलाने गुडघे टेकले आणि प्रार्थना केली.

³⁶When he had spoken these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all.

³⁷तेव्हा प्रत्येकाला खूपच रडू आले, ते पौलाच्या गळ्यात पडले व त्याचे मुके घेत राहिले.

³⁷They all wept a lot, and fell on Paul’s neck and kissed him,

³⁸ते पुन्हा त्याला कधीही पाहू शकणार नाहीत, या वाक्याने त्यांना फार दु:ख झाले, मग ते त्याला जहाजापर्चंत निरोप देण्यास गेले.

³⁸sorrowing most of all because of the word which he had spoken, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him to the ship.
