¹“मग आपण वळसा घेऊन बाशानच्या वाटेने निघालो. तेव्हा एद्राई येथे बाशानचा राजा ओग आणि त्याची सेना युद्धासाठी सामोरी आली.

¹Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.

²परमेश्वर मला म्हणाला, ‘ओगला भिऊ नका. तो, त्याची प्रजा आणि त्याची भूमी मी तुमच्याच हाती सोपवणार आहे. हेशबोनवर राज्य करणारा अमोऱ्यांचा राजा सीहोन याचा पराजय केलात तसाच याचाही कराल.’

²Yahweh said to me, “Don’t fear him; for I have delivered him, and all his people, and his land, into your hand; and you shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.”

³“आमचा देव परमेश्वर ह्याने बाशानचा राजा ओग आणि त्याची प्रजा आमच्या हाती दिली. आम्ही त्यांचा असा समाचार घेतला की त्यांच्यापैकी कोणीही जिवंत राहिले नाही.

³So Yahweh our God delivered into our hand Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people: and we struck him until none was left to him remaining.

⁴मग ओगच्या अखत्यारीतील सर्वच्या सर्व साठ नगरे म्हणजे अर्गेाबचा सारा प्रदेश घेतला. बाशानातले ओगचे राज्य ते हेच.

⁴We took all his cities at that time; there was not a city which we didn’t take from them; sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

⁵या सर्व नगरांना भक्कम तटबंदी होती. त्यांना उंच भिंती, वेशी, मजबूत अडसर होते. याशिवाय तट नसलेली गावे पुष्कळच होती.

⁵All these were cities fortified with high walls, gates, and bars; besides the unwalled towns a great many.

⁶हेशबोनच्या सीहोन राजाच्या नगरांप्रमाणेच येथेही आम्ही संहार केला. पुरुष, बायका, मुलंबाळं-कोणालाही म्हणून शिल्लक ठेवल नाही.

⁶We utterly destroyed them, as we did to Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones.

⁷गुरंढोर आणि किंमती लूट मात्र घेतली.

⁷But all the livestock, and the spoil of the cities, we took for a prey to ourselves.

⁸“अशाच पद्धतीने अमोऱ्यांच्या दोन राजांच्या ताब्यातला प्रदेशही आपण घेतला. तो म्हणजे यार्देनच्या पूर्वेकडचा, आर्णोन खोऱ्यापासून हर्मोन पर्वतापर्यंतचा.

⁸We took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon.

⁹(सीदोनी लोक या हर्मोन पर्वताला सिर्योन म्हणतात. पण अमोरी लोक सनीर म्हणतात.)

⁹(The Sidonians call Hermon Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir.)

¹⁰माळावरील सर्व नगरे, सगळा गिलाद प्रांत तसेच बाशानच्या ओगच्या राज्यातील सलका व एद्रई सकट सर्व प्रांत आपण काबीज केला.”

¹⁰We took all the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, to Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

¹¹रेई लोकांपैकी बाशानचा राजा ओग तेवढा अजून जिवंत होता. त्याचा पलंग लोखंडाचा होता. तो पलगं तेरा फूट लांब आणि सहा फूट रुंद होता. अम्मोन्यांच्या रब्बा नगरात तो अजूनही आहे.)

¹¹(For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the Rephaim; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; isn’t it in Rabbah of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was its length, and four cubits its breadth, after the cubit of a man.)

¹²“तेव्हा ती जमीन आम्ही काबीज केली. रऊबेनी आणि गादी यांना त्यातील काही भाग मी दिला. तो असा - आर्णोन खोऱ्यातल अरोएर नगरापासून गिलादाच्या डोंगराळ प्रदेशाचा अर्धा भाग व त्यातील नगरे.

¹²This land we took in possession at that time: from Aroer, which is by the valley of the Arnon, and half the hill country of Gilead, and its cities, gave I to the Reubenites and to the Gadites:

¹³गिलादाचा उरलेला अर्धा भाग आणि संपूर्ण बाशान मनश्शेच्या अर्ध्या वंशाला दिले.” (बाशान म्हणजे ओगचे राज्य. त्याच्या एका भागाला अर्गोब म्हणतात. ह्यालाच रेफाईचा देशही म्हणतात.

¹³and the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, gave I to the half-tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, even all Bashan. (The same is called the land of Rephaim.

¹⁴मनश्शेचा मुलगा याईर याने गशूरी आणि माकाथी ह्यांची सीमेपर्यंत अर्गोबचा सर्व प्रदेश हस्तगत केला. त्याच्या नावानेच तो भाग ओळखला जात असे. म्हणून आजही लोक त्याला याईरची नगरेच म्हणतात.)

¹⁴Jair the son of Manasseh took all the region of Argob, to the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and called them, even Bashan, after his own name, Havvoth Jair, to this day.)

¹⁵“आणि गिलाद मी माखीराला दिला.

¹⁵I gave Gilead to Machir.

¹⁶त्याचा पुढचा प्रदेश रऊबेनी आणि गादी यांना दिला. आर्णोन खोऱ्याच्या मध्यभागापासून अम्मोन्यांच्या सीमेवरील यब्बोक नदीपर्यंत त्याची सरहद्द ठरवली.

¹⁶To the Reubenites and to the Gadites I gave from Gilead even to the valley of the Arnon, the middle of the valley, and its border, even to the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon;

¹⁷पश्चिमेला यार्देन नदी. उत्तरेला गालिल सरोवर, पूर्वेला पिसागाची उतरण व त्याच्या तळाशी दक्षिणेला मृत समुद्र म्हणजेच क्षार समुद्र.

¹⁷the Arabah also, and the Jordan and its border, from Chinnereth even to the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, under the slopes of Pisgah eastward.

¹⁸“त्यावेळी मी त्या सर्वांना आज्ञा दिली की यार्देन नदीच्या अलीकडचा हा प्रदेश तुमचा देव परमेश्वर ह्याने तुमच्या हवाली केला आहे. पण तुमच्यापैकी सर्व लढाऊ पुरुषांनी पुढाकार घेऊन, हत्यारबंद होऊन आपल्या इस्राएली भाऊबंदाना पलीकडे घेऊन जावे.

¹⁸I commanded you at that time, saying, “Yahweh your God has given you this land to possess it: you shall pass over armed before your brothers the children of Israel, all the men of valor.

¹⁹तुमच्या बायका, मुलेबाळे आणि गायीगुरे (ती बरीच आहेत हे मला माहीत आहे) इथेच मी दिलेल्या प्रदेशात राहतील.

¹⁹But your wives, and your little ones, and your livestock, (I know that you have much livestock), shall live in your cities which I have given you,

²⁰यार्देन नदी पलीकडचा प्रदेश इस्राएली बांधवांनी ताब्यात घेईपर्यंत त्यांना मदत करा. परमेश्वराच्या कृपेने ते तुमच्या प्रमाणे स्थिरस्थावर झाले की मग तुम्ही आपापल्या प्रदेशात परत या.

²⁰until Yahweh gives rest to your brothers, as to you, and they also possess the land which Yahweh your God gives them beyond the Jordan: then you shall return every man to his possession, which I have given you.”

²¹“मग मी यहोशवाला सांगितले, ‘या दोन राजांचे तुमचा देव परमेश्वर ह्याने काय केले हे तू पाहिलेच. पुढेही ज्या ज्या राज्यात तू जाशील त्या सर्वांचे परमेश्वर असेच करील.

²¹I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, “Your eyes have seen all that Yahweh your God has done to these two kings: so shall Yahweh do to all the kingdoms where you go over.

²²तेथील राजांना घाबरु नका. कारण युद्धात तुमचा देव परमेश्वर तुमच्या बाजूने लढणार आहे.’

²²You shall not fear them; for Yahweh your God, he it is who fights for you.”

²³“मग मी माझ्यासाठी काहीतरी विशेष करण्यासाठी परमेश्वराची आळवणी केली. मी म्हणालो,

²³I begged Yahweh at that time, saying,

²⁴‘परमेश्वर, मी तुझा दास आहे. तुझ्या थक्क करुन टाकणाऱ्या पराक्रमाची तू मला फक्त चुणूक दाखवली आहेस. तुझ्यासारखे थोर प्रताप करणारा स्वर्गात किंवा पृथ्वीवर दुसरा कोण आहे?

²⁴ “Lord The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” Yahweh, you have begun to show your servant your greatness, and your strong hand: for what god is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to your works, and according to your mighty acts?

²⁵तेव्हा कृपा करुन मला यार्देन नदी पलीकडची सुपीक भूमी, चांगला डोंगराळ प्रदेश आणि लबानोन पाहू दे.’

²⁵Please let me go over and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan, that goodly mountain, and Lebanon.”

²⁶“पण तुमच्यापायी परमेश्वर माझ्यावर रुष्ट झाला होता. त्याने माझे म्हणणे ऐकले नाही. तो म्हणाला, ‘पुरे, आता एक शब्दही बोलू नको.

²⁶But Yahweh was angry with me for your sakes, and didn’t listen to me; and Yahweh said to me, “Let it suffice you; speak no more to me of this matter.

²⁷पिसगाच्या शिखरावर जा. आणि तेथून पूर्व, पश्चिम, उत्तर, दक्षिण अशा चारी दिशांना बघ. तेथून तुला सर्व काही दिसेल पण यार्देनच्या पलीकडे तू पाऊल ठेवू शकणार नाहीस.

²⁷Go up to the top of Pisgah, and lift up your eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and see with your eyes: for you shall not go over this Jordan.

²⁸यहोशवाला मात्र तू सूचना दे. त्याला उत्तेजन देऊन समर्थ कर. कारण तोच लोकांना पलीकडे नेईल. तू तो देश पाहशील पण यहोशवाच त्यांना ती जमीन राहाण्यासाठी मिळवून देईल.’

²⁸But commission Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him; for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which you shall see.”

²⁹“आणि म्हणून आम्ही बेथ - पौराच्या समोरच्या खोऱ्यात राहिलो.”

²⁹So we stayed in the valley over against Beth Peor.
