¹“माझ्या सेवकाकडे पाहा. मी त्याला आधार देतो. मी ज्याला निवडले आहे असा तो एक आहे आणि मी त्याच्यावर खूष आहे. मी माझा आत्मा त्याच्यात घालतो. तो न्याय्यमार्गाने राष्ट्रांना न्याय देईल.

¹“Behold, my servant, whom I uphold; my chosen, in whom my soul delights— I have put my Spirit on him. He will bring justice to the nations.

²तो रस्त्यात आवाज चढवणार नाही. तो रडणार अथवा किंचाळणार नाही.

²He will not shout, nor raise his voice, nor cause it to be heard in the street.

³तो सभ्य असेल तो पिचलेला बांबूसुध्दा मोडणार नाही. मिणमिणणारी वातसुध्दा तो विझविणार नाही. तो प्रामाणिकपणाने न्याय देईल आणि सत्य शोधून काढेल.

³He won’t break a bruised reed. He won’t quench a dimly burning wick. He will faithfully bring justice.

⁴जगाला न्याय प्रस्थापित करीपर्यंत तो दुर्बळ होणार नाही वा चिरडला जाणार नाही. दूरदूरच्या ठिकाणचे लोक त्याच्या शिकवणुकीवर विश्वास ठेवतील.”

⁴He will not fail nor be discouraged, until he has set justice in the earth, and the islands will wait for his law.”

⁵परमेश्वराने, खऱ्या देवाने या गोष्टी सांगितल्या: (परमेश्वराने आकाश निर्माण केले. परमेश्वराने ते जगावर पसरले. पृथ्वीवरील प्रत्येक गोष्ट त्यानेच निर्माण केली. पृथ्वीवरील सर्व लोकात त्याने प्राण घातला, चालणाऱ्या प्रत्येक माणसात चैतन्य घातले.)

⁵Thus says God Yahweh, he who created the heavens and stretched them out, he who spread out the earth and that which comes out of it, he who gives breath to its people and spirit to those who walk in it.

⁶मी, परमेश्वराने, तुला योग्य गोष्टी करण्यासाठी बोलाविले आहे. मी तुझा हात धरीन आणि तुझे रक्षण करीन. मी लोकांबरोबर केलेल्या कराराची तू खूण असशील. सर्वाना प्रकाश देणाऱ्या दिव्यासारखा तू असशील.

⁶“I, Yahweh, have called you in righteousness, and will hold your hand, and will keep you, and make you a covenant for the people, as a light for the nations;

⁷आंधळ्यांचे डोळे तू उघडशील आणि ते पाहू शकतील. खूप लोक तुरंगात आहेत, त्यांना तू मुक्त करशील. खूप लोक अंधारात राहतात, त्यातून तू त्यांना बाहेर काढशील.

⁷to open the blind eyes, to bring the prisoners out of the dungeon, and those who sit in darkness out of the prison.

⁸“मी परमेश्वर आहे माझे नाव यहोवा, मी माझे गौरव दुसऱ्यांना देणार नाही. माझ्याकरिता असलेली स्तुती मी मूर्तीच्या (खोट्या देवांच्या) वाट्याला येऊ देणार नाही.

⁸“I am Yahweh. That is my name. I will not give my glory to another, nor my praise to engraved images.

⁹काही गोष्टी घडतील असे मी सुरवातीलाच सांगितले होते त्या गोष्टी घडल्या आणि आता काही गोष्टी घडायच्या पूर्वीच मी त्याबद्दल सांगत आहे आणि भविष्यात तसेच घडेल.”

⁹Behold, the former things have happened, and I declare new things. I tell you about them before they come up.”

¹⁰परमेश्वरासाठी नवीन स्तोत्र गा. दूरवरच्या देशांतील सर्व लोकांनो, समुद्रावरून सफर करणाऱ्या सर्वानो, समुद्रातील सर्व प्राण्यांनो, दूरच्या ठिकाणी राहणाऱ्या लोकांनो, परमेश्वराची स्तुती करा.

¹⁰Sing to Yahweh a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is therein, the islands and their inhabitants.

¹¹वाळवंटांनो, नगरांनो, केदार मधील शेतांनो, परमेश्वराचे स्तुतिस्तोत्र गा. सेलातील लोकांनो, आनंदाने गा. तुमच्या उंच डोंगरकड्यावरून गा.

¹¹Let the wilderness and its cities raise their voices, with the villages that Kedar inhabits. Let the inhabitants of Sela sing. Let them shout from the top of the mountains!

¹²परमेश्वराचा गौरव करा. दूरवरच्या देशातील लोकांनो, त्याची स्तुती करा.

¹²Let them give glory to Yahweh, and declare his praise in the islands.

¹³परमेश्वर शूर सैनिकाप्रमाणे बाहेर जाईल लढण्यास सज्ज असलेल्या माणसाप्रमाणे तो असेल. तो खूप उत्तेजित होईल. तो आरोळी ठोकेल आणि मोठ्याने ओरडेल. तो त्याच्या शत्रूचा पराभव करील.

¹³Yahweh will go out like a mighty man. He will stir up zeal like a man of war. He will raise a war cry. Yes, he will shout aloud. He will triumph over his enemies.

¹⁴“बराच वेळ मी काही बोललो नाही. मी संयम ठेवला आणि गप्प राहिलो. पण आता प्रसूतिवेदना होणाऱ्या स्त्रीसारखा मी मोठ्याने ओरडेन. मी खूप जोराने व मोठ्याने श्वासोच्छवास करीन.

¹⁴“I have been silent a long time. I have been quiet and restrained myself. Now I will cry out like a travailing woman. I will both gasp and pant.

¹⁵मी टेकड्या आणि पर्वत नष्ट करीन. तेथे वाढणारी सर्व झाडेझुडपे मी सुकवून टाकीन. मी नद्यांच्या जागी कोरडी जमीन निर्माण करीन. तळी आटवीन.

¹⁵I will destroy mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs. I will make the rivers islands, and will dry up the pools.

¹⁶आंधळ्यांना कधीही माहीत नसलेल्या मार्गाने मी घेऊन जाईन. पूर्वी कधीही ते गेले नव्हते अशा स्थळी मी त्यांना नेईन. मी त्यांच्यासाठी अंधार प्रकाशात बदलीन. खडबडीत जमीन गुळगुळीत करीन. मी कबूल केलेल्या गोष्टी करीन. मी माझ्या लोकांचा त्याग करणार नाही.

¹⁶I will bring the blind by a way that they don’t know. I will lead them in paths that they don’t know. I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight. I will do these things, and I will not forsake them.

¹⁷पण काही लोकांनी मला अनुसरायचे थांबविले आहे, त्यांच्याजवळ सोन्याने मढविलेल्या मूर्ती आहेत. ते त्यांना म्हणतात, ‘तुम्हीच आमचे देव आहात.’ ते त्या खोट्या देवांवर विश्वास ठेवतात, पण त्या लोकांची निराशा होईल.

¹⁷“Those who trust in engraved images, who tell molten images, ‘You are our gods’ will be turned back. They will be utterly disappointed.

¹⁸“तुम्ही बहिऱ्यांनी माझे म्हणणे ऐकावे. आंधळ्यांनी नजर उचलून मला पाहावे.

¹⁸“Hear, you deaf, and look, you blind, that you may see.

¹⁹ह्या सर्व जगात, सर्वात आंधळा माझा सेवक आहे. मी ज्याला जगात पाठवितो तो माझा दूत सर्वात बहिरा आहे. माझा स्वत:चा माणूस परमेश्वराचा सेवक सर्वांत अधिक आंधळा आहे.

¹⁹Who is blind, but my servant? Or who is as deaf as my messenger whom I send? Who is as blind as he who is at peace, and as blind as Yahweh’s servant?

²⁰माझ्या सेवकाने काय करायला हवे ते त्याला दिसते पण ते माझी आज्ञा पाळत नाही. तो कानाने ऐकू शकतो पण माझे म्हणणे ऐकण्यायचे तो नाकारतो.”

²⁰You see many things, but don’t observe. His ears are open, but he doesn’t listen.

²¹सेवकाने चांगले व्हावे व परमेश्वराच्या अद्भुत शिकवणुकीचा परमेश्वराच्या प्रमाणिकपणाखातर आदर करावा असे परमेश्वराला वाटते.

²¹It pleased Yahweh, for his righteousness’ sake, to magnify the law, and make it honorable.

²²पण लोकांकडे पाहा. दुसऱ्यांनी त्यांना पराभूत करून लटूले आहे. सर्व तरूण घाबरले आहेत. ते तुरूंगात बंद केले गेले आहेत. दुसऱ्या लोकांनी त्यांच्याकडून पैसा काढून घेतला आहे. त्यांना वाचविणारा कोणीही नाही. दुसऱ्यांनी त्यांचा पैसा घेतला आणि “तो परत दे” असे म्हणायला तेथे कोणीही नव्हते.

²²But this is a robbed and plundered people. All of them are snared in holes, and they are hidden in prisons. They have become a prey, and no one delivers; and a spoil, and no one says, ‘Restore them!’

²³तुमच्यातील कोणी देवाचे म्हणणे ऐकले आहे का? नाही. पण तुम्ही ते लक्षपूर्वक ऐकावे व काय घडले आहे त्याचा विचार करावा.

²³Who is there among you who will give ear to this? Who will listen and hear for the time to come?

²⁴याकोबची व इस्राएलची संपत्ती लुटायला कोणी लावली? परमेश्वरानेच त्यांना तसे करण्याची परवानगी दिली. आपण परमेश्वराच्या विरूध्द वागून पाप केले आहे. म्हणून परमेश्वराने लोकांना आपली संपत्ती लुटू दिली. इस्राएलमधील लोकांना परमेश्वराच्या इच्छेप्रमाणे जगायचे नव्हते. त्यांनी परमेश्वराची शिकवण ऐकली नाही.

²⁴Who gave Jacob as plunder, and Israel to the robbers? Didn’t Yahweh, he against whom we have sinned? For they would not walk in his ways, and they disobeyed his law.

²⁵म्हणून परमेश्वर त्यांच्यावर रागावला. देवाने त्यांच्याविरूध्द मोठी युध्दे घडवून आणली. इस्राएलच्या लोकांभोवती जणू आग भडकावी तसे हे होते. पण काय घडत आहे त्यांना कळले नाही. ते जणू जळत होते पण काय होत होते ते समजावून घेण्याचा त्यांनी प्रयत्न केला नाही.

²⁵Therefore he poured the fierceness of his anger on him, and the strength of battle; and it set him on fire all around, but he didn’t know; and it burned him, but he didn’t take it to heart.”
