³ईयोब, लिव्याथान तुझ्याकडे सोडून देण्यासाठी याचना करील का? तो तुझ्याशी मृदू शब्दात बोलेल का?

⁴ईयोब, लिव्याथान तुझ्याशी करार करुन जन्मभर तुझा दास होऊन राहील का?

⁴Will he make a covenant with you, that you should take him for a servant forever?

⁵ईयोब, तू पक्ष्याशी जसा खेळशील तसा लिव्याथानाशी खेळशील का? तू त्याला दोरीने बांधशील का? म्हणजे तुझ्या सेवक मुली त्याच्याशी खेळू शकतील?

⁵Will you play with him as with a bird? Or will you bind him for your girls?

⁶ईयोब मच्छीमार तुझ्याकडून लिव्याथानाला विकत घेण्याचा प्रयत्न करतील का? ते त्याचे तुकडे करुन ते व्यापाऱ्यांना विकण्याचा प्रयत्न करतील का?

⁶Will traders barter for him? Will they part him among the merchants?

⁷ईयोब, तू लिव्याथानाच्या कातडीत किंवा डोक्यात भाला फेकशील का?

⁷Can you fill his skin with barbed irons, or his head with fish spears?

⁸“ईयोब, तू एकदा का लिव्याथानावर हात टाकलास तर पुन्हा तसे कधी करु शकणार नाहीस. ती कशा प्रकारची लढाई असेल याचा एकदा विचार कर.

⁸Lay your hand on him. Remember the battle, and do so no more.

⁹तू लिव्याथानाचा पराभव करु शकशील असे तुला वाटत असेल तर ते विसरुन जा. तशा आशेला जागाच नाही. त्याच्याकडे नजर टाकताच तुझी भीतीने गाळण उडेल.

⁹Behold, the hope of him is in vain. Won’t one be cast down even at the sight of him?

¹⁰एकही माणूस त्याला जागे करुन त्याचा राग ओढवून घेण्याइतका शूर नाही. “माझ्याविरुध्द उभा राहाणाराही कुणी नाही.

¹¹मी (देव) कुणाचाही देणेकरी नाही. या नभोमंडळाखाली जे जे आहे ते सर्व माझे आहे.

¹²“ईयोब, मी तुला लिव्याथानाच्या पायांविषयी, त्याच्या शक्तीविषयी आणि त्याच्या ऐटदार बांध्याविषयी सांगेन.

¹²“I will not keep silence concerning his limbs, nor his mighty strength, nor his goodly frame.

¹³कुणीही त्याची कातडी छेदू शकत नाही. त्याची कातडी चिलखतासारखी आहे.

¹³Who can strip off his outer garment? Who shall come within his jaws?

¹⁴लिव्याथानाला त्याचा जबडा उघडायला कुणीही भाग पाडू शकत नाही. त्याच्या तोंडातल्या दातांची लोकांना भीती वाटते.

¹⁴Who can open the doors of his face? Around his teeth is terror.

¹⁵लिव्याथानाच्या पाठीवर ढालीसारख्या खवल्यांच्या रांगा एकमेकांना चिकटून आहेत.

¹⁵Strong scales are his pride, shut up together with a close seal.

¹⁶ते खवले एकमेकांना इतके चिकटले आहेत की त्यातून हवासुध्दा जाऊ शकत नाही.

¹⁶One is so near to another, that no air can come between them.

¹⁷त्याचे खवले एकमेकांशी घटृ बांधलेले आहेत. ते एकमेकांशी इतके घटृ बांधलेले आहेत की कुणी ते ओढून वेगळे करु शकत नाही.

¹⁷They are joined one to another. They stick together, so that they can’t be pulled apart.

¹⁸लिव्याथान जेव्हा शिंकतो तेव्हा वीज चमकल्यासारखी वाटते. त्याचे डोळे पहाटेच्या प्रकाशासारखे चमकतात.

¹⁸His sneezing flashes out light. His eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.

¹⁹त्याच्या तोंडातून आगीचे लोळ बाहेर पडतात. आगीच्या ठिणग्या निघतात.

¹⁹Out of his mouth go burning torches. Sparks of fire leap forth.

²⁰उकळत्या भांड्याखाली ठेवलेल्या जळत्या गवतातून निघतो तसा धूर त्याच्या नाकातून येतो.

²⁰Out of his nostrils a smoke goes, as of a boiling pot over a fire of reeds.

²¹लिव्याथानाच्या श्र्वासानी कोळसे पेटतात आणि त्याच्या तोंडातून ज्वाला बाहेर पडतात.

²¹His breath kindles coals. A flame goes forth from his mouth.

²²लिव्याथानाची मान मजबूत आहे. लोक त्याला घाबरतात आणि त्याच्यापासून दूर पळत सुटतात.

²²There is strength in his neck. Terror dances before him.

²³त्याच्या कातडीवर एकही मऊ भाग नाही. ती लोखंडासाखी कठीण आहे.

²³The flakes of his flesh are joined together. They are firm on him. They can’t be moved.

²⁴लिव्याथानाचे हृदय पाषाणासारखे आहे. त्याला भीती वाटत नाही. ते पाट्यासारखे आहे. जात्याच्या खालच्या तळीसारखे ते आहे.

²⁴His heart is as firm as a stone, yes, firm as the lower millstone.

²⁵लिव्याथान उठून उभा राहिला की शूर वीरही घाबरतात. लिव्याथानाने त्यांची शेपटी हलवली की ते पळून जातात.

²⁵When he raises himself up, the mighty are afraid. They retreat before his thrashing.

²⁶तलवारी, भाले आणि तीर त्याच्यावर फेकले तरी ते त्याला न लागता परत येतात. त्या शस्त्रांनी त्याला काहीही इजा होत नाही.

²⁶If one attacks him with the sword, it can’t prevail; nor the spear, the dart, nor the pointed shaft.

²⁷तो लोखांडाची कांब गवताच्या काडीसारखी मोडू शकतो. कुजलेले लाकूड जसे पटकन मोडते तसे तो पितळ मोडतो.

²⁷He counts iron as straw; and brass as rotten wood.

²⁸तो बाणांना घाबरुन पळून जात नाही. वाळलेल्या गवताप्रमाणे दगड त्याच्यावर आपटून परत येतात.

²⁸The arrow can’t make him flee. Sling stones are like chaff to him.

²⁹जेव्हा लाकडी गदा त्याच्यावर आपटली जाते तेव्हा त्याला ते गवत आपटल्याप्रमाणे वाटते. लोक त्याच्यावर भाले फेकतात तेव्हा तो हसतो.

²⁹Clubs are counted as stubble. He laughs at the rushing of the javelin.

³⁰लिव्याथानाच्या शरीरावरची कातडी तीक्ष्ण, टणक खापरासाखी आहे. तो चिखलात कुळक फिरवल्याप्रमाणे तास पाडतो.

³⁰His undersides are like sharp potsherds, leaving a trail in the mud like a threshing sledge.

³¹लिव्याथान पाण्याला उकळी आल्याप्रमाणे हलवतो. तो त्याला उकळत्या तेलाच्या भांड्याप्रमाणे तो त्यावर बुडबुडे आणतो.

³¹He makes the deep to boil like a pot. He makes the sea like a pot of ointment.

³²लिव्याथान पोहतो तेव्हा तो आपल्यामागे मार्ग तयार करतो. तो पाणी ढवळून टाकतो आणि आपल्यामागे पांढरा फेस ठेवतो.

³²He makes a path shine after him. One would think the deep had white hair.

³³पृथ्वीवरचा एकही पशू लिव्याथानासारखा नाही. तो एक भीतिविरहित प्राणी आहे.

³³On earth there is not his equal, that is made without fear.

³⁴लिव्याथान गर्विष्ठ प्राण्याला कमी (तुच्छ) लेखतो. तो सगळ्या रानटी श्वापदांचा राजा आहे. आणि मी, परमेश्वराने त्याला निर्माण केले आहे”

³⁴He sees everything that is high. He is king over all the sons of pride.”
