³ Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light. What you have spoken in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.

¹⁴But he said to him, “Man, who made me a judge or an arbitrator over you?”

¹⁵He said to them, “Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.”

¹⁸ He said, ‘This is what I will do. I will pull down my barns, and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.

¹⁹आणि मी माझ्या जिवाला म्हणेन, जिवा, तुझ्यासाठी पुष्कळ चांगल्या गोष्टी अनेक वर्षे पुरतील इतक्या आहेत. आराम कर, खा, पी आणि मजा कर.”

¹⁹ I will tell my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years. Take your ease, eat, drink, be merry.”’

²³ Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.

²⁴ Consider the ravens: they don’t sow, they don’t reap, they have no warehouse or barn, and God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds!

²⁵चिंता करुन तुम्हांपैकी कोण स्वत:च्या आयुष्यात एका तासाची भर घालू शकेल?

²⁵ Which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his height?

²⁶ज्याअर्थी तुम्ही ही लहान गोष्ट करु शकत नाही, तर इतर गोष्टीविषयी चिंता का करता?

²⁶ If then you aren’t able to do even the least things, why are you anxious about the rest?

²⁷ Consider the lilies, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

²⁸जर देवाने जे आज आहे व उद्या भट्टीत टाकले जाईल अशा त्या रानातील गवताला असा पोशाख घातला आहे, तर तुम्ही जे अल्पविश्वासू त्या तुम्हांला तो कितीतरी अधिक (चांगला) पोशाख घालणार नाही काय!

²⁸ But if this is how God clothes the grass in the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith?

²⁹आणि तुम्ही काय खावे व काय प्यावे याविषयी खटपट करु नका. या गोष्टीविषयी चिंता करु नका.

²⁹ Don’t seek what you will eat or what you will drink; neither be anxious.

³⁰कारण जगातील सर्व लोक हे मिळविण्याची खटपट करतात पण या गोष्टींची गरज तुम्हांला आहे, हे तुमच्या पित्याला माहीत आहे.

³⁰ For the nations of the world seek after all of these things, but your Father knows that you need these things.

³¹त्याऐवजी प्रथम त्याचे राज्य मिळविण्यासाठी झटा म्हणजे याही गोष्टी तुम्हांला दिल्या जातील.

³¹ But seek God’s Kingdom, and all these things will be added to you.

³²“लहान कळपा भिऊ नको, कारण तुम्हांला त्याचे राज्य द्यावे हे दयाळू पित्याला समधानाचे वाटते.

³² Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.

³³तुमच्याकडे असलेले सर्व विका आणि गरिबांना पैसे द्या. जुन्या न होणाऱ्या व स्वर्गातही न संपणाऱ्या अशा थैल्या स्वत:साठी करा. जेथे चोर जाऊ शकणार नाही व कसरही त्याचा नाश करु शकणार नाही.

³³ Sell that which you have, and give gifts to the needy. Make for yourselves purses which don’t grow old, a treasure in the heavens that doesn’t fail, where no thief approaches, neither moth destroys.

³⁴कारण जेथे तुमचे धन आहे तेथे तुमचे मनही लागेल.

³⁴ For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

³⁵“तुमच्या कंबरा बांधलेल्या आणि दिवे लागलेले असू द्या.

³⁵ “Let your waist be dressed and your lamps burning.

³⁶लग्नाच्या मेजवानीवरुन त्यांचा मालक परत येईल अशी वाट पाहणाऱ्या लोकांसारखे व्हा. यासाठी की जेव्हा तो येतो व ठोठाठतो तेव्हा त्याच्यासाठी ते ताबडतोब दार उघडतील.

³⁶ Be like men watching for their lord, when he returns from the marriage feast; that, when he comes and knocks, they may immediately open to him.

³⁷धन्य ते नोकर जे त्यांचा मालक परत आल्यावर त्याला जागे व तयारीत असलेले आढळतील. मी तुम्हांला खरे सांगतो, तो स्वत: त्यांची सेवा करण्यासाठी कंबर कसेल, त्यांना मेजावर बसायला सांगून त्यांची सेवा करील.

³⁷ Blessed are those servants, whom the lord will find watching when he comes. Most certainly I tell you, that he will dress himself, and make them recline, and will come and serve them.

³⁸तो मध्यरात्री येवो अगर त्यांनतर येवो. जर ते त्याला असे तयारीत आढळतील तर ते धन्य.

³⁸ They will be blessed if he comes in the second or third watch, and finds them so.

³⁹परंतु याविषयी खात्री बाळगा; जर घराच्या मालकाला चोर केव्हा येणार हे माहीत असते तर त्याचे घर त्याने फोडू दिले नसते.

³⁹ But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched, and not allowed his house to be broken into.

⁴⁰तुम्हीही तयार असा कारण तुम्ही अपेक्षा करणार नाही अशा कोणत्याही क्षणी मनुष्याचा पुत्र येईल.”

⁴⁰ Therefore be ready also, for the Son of Man is coming in an hour that you don’t expect him.”

⁴¹मग पेत्र म्हणाला, “प्रभु, तुम्ही ही बोधकथा आम्हांलाच सांगत आहात की सर्वांना?”

⁴¹Peter said to him, “Lord, are you telling this parable to us, or to everybody?”

⁴²तेव्ह प्रभु म्हणाला, “असा कोण शहाणा व विश्वासू कारभारी आहे की, ज्याला प्रभु त्याच्या नोकरांना त्याचे धान्य योग्य वेळी देण्यासाठी त्याची नेमणूक करील?

⁴²The Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his lord will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the right times?

⁴³त्याचा मालक येईल त्यावेळी असे करताना जो नोकर आढळेल तो धन्य.

⁴³ Blessed is that servant whom his lord will find doing so when he comes.

⁴⁴मी तुम्हांला खरे सांगतो, मालक त्या नोकराला त्याच्या सर्व मालमत्तेवर अधिकारी म्हणून नेमील.

⁴⁴ Truly I tell you, that he will set him over all that he has.

⁴⁵पण जर तो नोकर मनात म्हणतो, “माझा मालक येण्यास फार विलंब लावतो.’ व तो त्याच्या स्त्री व पुरुष नोकरांना मारहाण करतो व खाण्यापिण्यास सुरुवात करतो.

⁴⁵ But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My lord delays his coming,’ and begins to beat the menservants and the maidservants, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken,

⁴⁶ज्या दिवसाची तो वाट पाहत नाही त्या दिवशी त्या नोकराचा मालक येईल व अशा वेळी येईल की ती वेळ त्याला माहीत असणार नाही. आणि तो त्याचे वाभाडे वाभाडे काढील व तो त्याला अविश्वासू लोकांबरोबर ठेवील.

⁴⁶ then the lord of that servant will come in a day when he isn’t expecting him, and in an hour that he doesn’t know, and will cut him in two, and place his portion with the unfaithful.

⁴⁷ज्या नोकराला आपल्या मालकाची इच्छा माहीत असते व जो तयार राहत नाही, किंवा जो आपल्या मालकाच्या इच्छेप्रमाणे करीत नाही, त्या नोकराला खूप मार मिळेल.

⁴⁷ That servant, who knew his lord’s will, and didn’t prepare, nor do what he wanted, will be beaten with many stripes,

⁴⁸परंतु कसलाही वाईट हेतू न बाळगता मालकाला न आवडणारे जर त्याने केले असेल तर त्याला कमी मार बसेल. ज्या कोणाला पुष्कळ दिले आहे त्याच्याकडून पुष्कळाची अपेक्षा केली जाईल. ज्यांच्याजवळ जास्त ठेवले आहे त्यांच्याकडून जास्त मागितले जाईल.”

⁴⁸ but he who didn’t know, and did things worthy of stripes, will be beaten with few stripes. To whomever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom much was entrusted, of him more will be asked.

⁴⁹मी पृथ्वीवर आग लावण्यास आलो आहे. मला असे वाटते की ती अगोदरच पेटली असती तर किती बरे झाले असेत.

⁴⁹ “I came to throw fire on the earth. I wish it were already kindled.

⁵⁰माझ्याकडे बाप्तिस्मा आहे व तो मला घ्यावयाचा आहे. आणि तो होईपर्यंत मी किती अस्वस्थ आहे!

⁵⁰ But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished!

⁵¹तुम्हांला असे वाटते का की मी पृथ्वीवर शांतता प्रस्थापित करण्यास आलो आहे? नाही, मी तुम्हांला सांगतो मी तुमच्यात फूट पाडण्यासाठी आलो आहे.

⁵¹ Do you think that I have come to give peace in the earth? I tell you, no, but rather division.

⁵²मी असे म्हणतो कारण आतापासून घरातील पाच जणात एकमेकाविरुद्ध फूट पडेल. तिघे दोघांविरुद्ध व दोघे तिघांविरुद्ध अशी फूट पडेल.

⁵² For from now on, there will be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

⁵³त्यांच्यात पित्याविरुद्ध मुलगा व मुलाविरुद्ध पिता अशी फूट पडेल, आईविरुद्ध मुलगी व मुलीविरुद्ध आई अशी फूट पडेल, सासूविरुद्ध सून व सुनेविरुद्ध सासू अशी त्यांच्यात फूट पडेल.”

⁵³ They will be divided, father against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against her mother; mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.” Micah 7:6

⁵⁸ For when you are going with your adversary before the magistrate, try diligently on the way to be released from him, lest perhaps he drag you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison.
