¹माझ्या देवा, माझ्या देवा तू मला का सोडून गेलास? तू इतका दूर आहेस की मला मदत करु शकणार नाहीस. तू इतका दूर आहेस की मी मदतीसाठी मारलेल्या हाका तुला ऐकू येणार नाहीत.

¹My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?

²माझ्या देवा, मी तुला दिवसा हाक मारली परंतु तू उत्तर दिले नाहीस आणि मी रात्रीही तुला हाका मारणे चालूच ठेवले.

²My God, I cry in the daytime, but you don’t answer; in the night season, and am not silent.

³देवा, पवित्र असा केवळ तूच आहेस तू राजा म्हणून बसतोस तूच इस्राएलची प्रशांसा आहेस.

³But you are holy, you who inhabit the praises of Israel.

⁴आमच्या पूर्वजांनी तुझ्यावर विश्वास ठेवला. होय देवा, त्यांनी तुझ्यावर विश्वास ठेवला आणि तू त्यांना वाचवलेस.

⁴Our fathers trusted in you. They trusted, and you delivered them.

⁵देवा आमच्या पूर्वजांनी तुला मदतीसाठी बोलावले आणि त्यांची शत्रूंपासून सुटका झाली. त्यांनी तुझ्यावर विश्वास टाकला पण त्यांची निराशा झाली नाही.

⁵They cried to you, and were delivered. They trusted in you, and were not disappointed.

⁶म्हणून मी कीटक आहे का? मी मनुष्य नाही का? लोकांना माझी लाज वाटते, लोक माझा तिरस्कार करतात.

⁶But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised by the people.

⁷माझ्याकडे जो बघतो तो माझा उपहास करतो. ते त्यांचे डोके हलवतात आणि जीभ बाहेर काढून मला वेडावून दाखवतात.

⁷All those who see me mock me. They insult me with their lips. They shake their heads, saying,

⁸ते मला म्हणतात “तू परमेश्वराला तुला मदत करायला सांग. कदाचित् तो तुला मदत करेल. तू जर त्याला इतका आवडत असशील तर कदाचित् तो तुझी सुटका करेल.”

⁸“He trusts in Yahweh; let him deliver him. Let him rescue him, since he delights in him.”

⁹देवा, हे सत्य आहे की मी ज्याच्यावर अवलंबून राहावे असा फक्त तूच आहेस. मी जन्मल्यापासून तू माझी काळजी घेत आला आहेस. मी माझ्या आईचे दूध पीत होतो तेव्हापासून तू मला आश्वासन दिले आहेस. आणि माझे सांत्वन केले आहेस.

⁹But you brought me out of the womb. You made me trust at my mother’s breasts.

¹⁰मी जन्माला आलो त्या दिवसापासून तू माझा देव आहेस मी माझ्या आईच्या शरीरातून बाहेर आलो तेव्हापासून तू मला तुझ्या छत्राखाली आणले आहेस.

¹⁰I was thrown on you from my mother’s womb. You are my God since my mother bore me.

¹¹तेव्हा देवा मला सोडू नकोस, संकटे जवळ आली आहेत आणि मला मदत करायला कोणीही नाही.

¹¹Don’t be far from me, for trouble is near. For there is none to help.

¹²माझ्याभोवती लोक आहेत ते बळकट बैलासारखे माझ्या चहू बाजूला आहेत.

¹²Many bulls have surrounded me. Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled me.

¹³प्राण्यांवर गुरगुर करणाऱ्या वत्यांना फाडणाऱ्या सिंहासारखे त्यांचे तोंड उघडे आहे.

¹³They open their mouths wide against me, lions tearing prey and roaring.

¹⁴माझी शक्ती जमिनीवर सांडलेल्या पाण्यासारखी नाहीशी झाली आहे, माझी हाडे वेगवेगळी झाली आहेत माझे धैर्यही नाहीसे झाले आहे.

¹⁴I am poured out like water. All my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax; it is melted within me.

¹⁵फुटलेल्या खापरा प्रमाणे माझे तोंड सुकले आहे. माझी जीभ टाळूला चिकटली आहे. तू मला “मृत्यूच्या धुळीत” ठेवले. आहेस.

¹⁵My strength is dried up like a potsherd. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You have brought me into the dust of death.

¹⁶“कुत्री” माझ्या भोवती आहेत मला दुष्टांच्या घोळक्यांनी सापळ्यात पकडले आहे सिंहाप्रमाणे त्यांनी माझ्या हातापायालाजखमा केल्या आहेत.

¹⁶For dogs have surrounded me. A company of evildoers have enclosed me. They have pierced my hands and feet. So Dead Sea Scrolls. Masoretic Text reads, “Like a lion, they pin my hands and feet.”

¹⁷मला माझी हाडे दिसू शकतात. लोक माझ्याकडे टक लावून पाहतात आणि पाहातच राहतात.

¹⁷I can count all of my bones. They look and stare at me.

¹⁸ते माझे कपडे त्यांच्यात वाटून टाकतात आणि माझ्या लांब झग्यासाठी त्यांनी जिठ्‌या टाकल्या आहेत.

¹⁸They divide my garments among them. They cast lots for my clothing.

¹⁹परमेश्वरा, मला सोडून जाऊ नकोस तूच माझी शक्ती हो, लवकर ये आणि मला मदत कर.

¹⁹But don’t be far off, Yahweh. You are my help: hurry to help me.

²⁰परमेश्वरा माझे आयुष्य तलवारी पासून वाचव माझे मौल्यवान आयुष्य त्या कुत्र्यांपासून वाचव.

²⁰Deliver my soul from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dog.

²¹सिंहाच्या जबड्यापासून माझे रक्षण कर. बैलाच्या शिंगापासून माझे रक्षण कर.

²¹Save me from the lion’s mouth! Yes, from the horns of the wild oxen, you have answered me.

²²परमेश्वरा, मी माझ्या भावांना तुझ्याबद्दल सांगेन. सभेत मी तुझे गुणगान गाईन.

²²I will declare your name to my brothers. In the midst of the assembly, I will praise you.

²³जे लोक परमेश्वराची उपासना करतात त्यांनी त्याची स्तुतीही करावी. इस्राएलाच्या वंशजांनो, परमेश्वराला मान द्या. इस्राएलाच्या वंशजांनो, परमेश्वराची भीती बाळगा आणि त्याचा आदर करा.

²³You who fear Yahweh, praise him! All you descendants of Jacob, glorify him! Stand in awe of him, all you descendants of Israel!

²⁴का? कारण परमेश्वर संकटात सापडलेल्या गरीब लोकांना मदत करतो. परमेश्वराला त्यांची लाज वाटत नाही. परमेश्वर त्यांचा तिरस्कार करत नाही. जर लोकांनी परमेश्वराला मदतीसाठी बोलावले तर तो त्यांच्यापासून लपून बसणार नाही.

²⁴For he has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, Neither has he hidden his face from him; but when he cried to him, he heard.

²⁵परमेश्वरा, मोठ्या सभेतले माझे गुणगान तुझ्यापासूनच आले. त्या सगळ्या भक्तंासमोर मी ज्या ज्या गोष्टींचे वचन दिले त्या सर्व मी करीन.

²⁵Of you comes my praise in the great assembly. I will pay my vows before those who fear him.

²⁶गरीब लोक खातील आणि समाधानी राहातील. जे लोक परमेश्वराला शोधत आहे, त्यांनी त्याची स्तुती करावी. तुमचे ह्दय सदैव आनंदी राहो.

²⁶The humble shall eat and be satisfied. They shall praise Yahweh who seek after him. Let your hearts live forever.

²⁷दूरदूरच्या परदेशातील लोकांना परमेश्वराची आठवण येवो. आणि ते परमेश्वराकडे परत येवोत. सगळ्या परक्या देशांतील लोक परमेश्वराची उपासना करोत.

²⁷All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to Yahweh. All the relatives of the nations shall worship before you.

²⁸का? कराण परमेश्वराच राजा आहे तो सगळ्या देशांवर राज्य करतो.

²⁸For the kingdom is Yahweh’s. He is the ruler over the nations.

²⁹बलवान व निरोगी लोक भोजन करुन देवापुढे नतमस्तक झाले आहेत. तसं पाहिलं तर जे सर्व लोक मरणार आहेत व जे आधीच मेलेले आहेत ते सर्वजण देवापुढे नतमस्तक होतील.

²⁹All the rich ones of the earth shall eat and worship. All those who go down to the dust shall bow before him, even he who can’t keep his soul alive.

³⁰आणि भविष्यात आपले वंशज परमेश्वराची सेवा करतील. लोक त्याच्याविषयी सर्वकाळ सांगत राहातील.

³⁰Posterity shall serve him. Future generations shall be told about the Lord.

³¹परमेश्वराने खरोखरच ज्या चांगल्या गोष्टी केल्याआहेत त्या विषयी प्रत्येक पिढी पुढच्या पिढीला सांगेल.

³¹They shall come and shall declare his righteousness to a people that shall be born, for he has done it.
