¹देवा, आम्ही तुझ्याबद्दल ऐकले आहे. आमच्या वडिलांनी तू त्यांच्या आयुष्यात काय केलेस ते सांगितले, खूप पूर्वी तू काय केलेस तेही त्यांनी सांगितले.

¹We have heard with our ears, God; our fathers have told us, what work you did in their days, in the days of old.

²देवा, तू तुझ्या सर्व शक्तीने हा देश इतर लोकांपासून घेतलास आणि तो आम्हाला दिलास तू त्या परदेशी माणसांना चिरडलेस तू त्यांना हा देश सोडायला भाग पाडलेस.

²You drove out the nations with your hand, but you planted them. You afflicted the peoples, but you spread them abroad.

³हा देश आमच्या वडिलांच्या तलवारीने मिळवलेला नाही. त्यांच्या कणखर बाहूंनी त्यांना विजयी केले नाही. हे घडले कारण तू त्यांच्या बरोबर होतास. देवा तुझ्या पराक्रमी शक्तीमुळे आमचे वाडवडील वाचले का? कारण तू त्यांच्यावर प्रेम केलेस.

³For they didn’t get the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but your right hand, and your arm, and the light of your face, because you were favorable to them.

⁴देवा, तू माझा राजा आहेस आज्ञा द आणि याकोबाच्या माणसांना विजयाप्रत ने.

⁴You are my King, God. Command victories for Jacob!

⁵देवा, तुझ्या मदतीने आम्ही शत्रूला मागे रेटू. तुझ्या नावाने आम्ही आमच्या शत्रूवर चालून जाऊ.

⁵Through you, will we push down our adversaries. Through your name, will we tread them under who rise up against us.

⁶माझ्या धनुष्यबाणांवर माझा विश्वास नाही. माझी तलवार मला वाचवू शकणार नाही.

⁶For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.

⁷देवा, तू आम्हाला मिसर पासून वाचवलेस. तू आमच्या शत्रूंना लाजवले आहेस.

⁷But you have saved us from our adversaries, and have shamed those who hate us.

⁸आम्ही रोज देवाची स्तुती करु आम्ही तुझ्या नावाची सदैव स्तुती करत राहू.

⁸In God we have made our boast all day long, we will give thanks to your name forever. Selah.

⁹परंतु देवा, तू आम्हाला सोडून गेलास. तू आम्हाला अडचणीत टाकलेस तू आमच्याबरोबर लढाईत आला नाहीस.

⁹But now you rejected us, and brought us to dishonor, and don’t go out with our armies.

¹⁰तू आमच्या शत्रूंना आम्हाला मागे रेटू दिलेस. शत्रूंनी आमची संपत्ती घेतली.

¹⁰You make us turn back from the adversary. Those who hate us take spoil for themselves.

¹¹तू आम्हाला मेंढ्यासारखे खायचे अन्न म्हणून देऊन टाकले. तू आम्हाला राष्ट्रांमध्ये इतस्तता विखरुन टाकले.

¹¹You have made us like sheep for food, and have scattered us among the nations.

¹²देवा, तू आम्हाला कवडीमोलाने विकलेस. तू किंमतीसाठी घासाघीस देखील केली नाहीस.

¹²You sell your people for nothing, and have gained nothing from their sale.

¹³तू शेजाऱ्यांमध्ये आमचे हसे केलेस. आमचे शेजारी आम्हाला हसतात. ते आमची मस्करी करतात.

¹³You make us a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and a derision to those who are around us.

¹⁴आम्ही म्हणजे लोकांनी सांगितलेली हसवणूक आहोत, ज्यांना स्वत चा देश नाही असे लोकही आम्हाला हसतात आणि मान हलवतात.

¹⁴You make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.

¹⁵मी लाजेने वेढला गेलो आहे. दिवसभर मला माझी लाज दिसते.

¹⁵All day long my dishonor is before me, and shame covers my face,

¹⁶माझ्या शत्रूंनी मला अडचणीत आणले माझे शत्रू माझी चेष्टा करुन जशास तसे वागायचा प्रयत्न करतात.

¹⁶At the taunt of one who reproaches and verbally abuses, because of the enemy and the avenger.

¹⁷देवा, आम्ही तुला विसरलो नाही तरीही तू आम्हाला या सगळ्या गोष्टी करतोस आम्ही तुझ्याबरोबर केलेल्या करारनाम्यावर सही केली तेव्हा खोटे बोललो नाही.

¹⁷All this has come on us, yet have we not forgotten you, Neither have we been false to your covenant.

¹⁸देवा, आम्ही तुझ्यापासून दूर गेलो नाही. आम्ही तुझा मार्ग चोखाळणे बंद केले नाही.

¹⁸Our heart has not turned back, neither have our steps strayed from your path,

¹⁹परंतु देवा, तू आम्हाला कोल्हे राहातात त्या जागेत चिरडलेस, मृत्यूसारख्या अंधाऱ्याजागेत तू आम्हाला झाकलेस.

¹⁹Though you have crushed us in the haunt of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.

²⁰आम्ही आमच्या देवाचे नाव विसरलो का? आम्ही परक्या देवाची प्रार्थना केली का? नाही.

²⁰If we have forgotten the name of our God, or spread forth our hands to a strange god;

²¹देवाला खरोखरच या गोष्टी माहीत असतात. त्याला आपल्या ह्दयातल्या अगदी आतल्या गुप्त गोष्टीही माहीत असतात.

²¹won’t God search this out? For he knows the secrets of the heart.

²²देवा आम्ही रोज तुझ्यासाठी मारले जात आहोत. मारण्यासाठी नेल्या जाणाऱ्या मेंढ्यांप्रमाणे आम्ही आहोत.

²²Yes, for your sake we are killed all day long. We are regarded as sheep for the slaughter.

²³प्रभु, ऊठ तू का झोपला आहेस? ऊठ आम्हाला कायमचा सोडून जाऊ नकोस.

²³Wake up! Why do you sleep, Lord? The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” Arise! Don’t reject us forever.

²⁴देवा, तू आमच्यापासून लपून का राहात आहेस? तू आमची दु:ख आणि संकट विसरलास का?

²⁴Why do you hide your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression?

²⁵तू आम्हाला घाणीत ढकलून दिले आहेस आम्ही धुळीत पोटावर पडलो आहोत.

²⁵For our soul is bowed down to the dust. Our body clings to the earth.

²⁶देवा, ऊठ! आम्हाला मदत कर. मेहेरबानी करुन आम्हाला वाचव.

²⁶Rise up to help us. Redeem us for your loving kindness’ sake.
