¹निर्लज्ज लोकांनो,

⁴गज्जात कोणीही शिल्लक शहणार नाही. अष्कलोनचा नाश होईल दुपारी, अश्दोदमधील लोकांना, बळजबरीने बाहेर काढले जाईल, एक्रोन ओसाड होईल.

⁵पलिष्ट्यांनो, समुद्राकाठी राहणाऱ्या लोकांनो, परमेश्वराचा हा संदेश तुमच्यासाठी आहे. कनान मधील या फिलिस्ताईनच्या भूमीचा नाश होईल ते देश निर्जन होतील.

⁶तुमची समुद्राकाठची जमीन मेंढ्यांसाठी व मेंढपाळासाठी मोकळी राने होतील.

⁹म्हणून, मी जिवंत आहे याची मला जेवढी खात्री आहे तेवढ्याच ठामपणाने मी वचन देतो की, सदोम व गमोरा यांच्यासारखाच मवाब व अमोन यांचा नाश होईल. मी सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर आहे, मी इस्राएलचा देव आहे त्या देशांचा संपूर्ण कायमचा नाश होईल, असे मी वचन देतो. त्यांच्या देशांच्या जमिनीवर काटेकुटे माजतील. मृत समुद्रातील मिठाने व्यापलेल्या जमिनीप्रमाणे ते देश होतील. माझ्या माणसांतील जिवंत राहिलेली माणसे ती भूमी आणि त्या भूमीवर उरलेले सर्व काही घेतील.”

⁹Therefore as I live, says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, surely Moab will be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, a possession of nettles, and salt pits, and a perpetual desolation. The remnant of my people will plunder them, and the survivors of my nation will inherit them.

¹⁰मवाब व अमोन येथील लोकांची अशी स्थिती होण्याचे कारण ते गर्विष्ठ होते. आणि सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वराच्या माणसांच्या बाबतीत त्यांनी क्रूरपणाने कृती केली. त्यांनी परमेश्वराच्या माणसांना कमीपणाने वागवले हेच होय.

¹⁰This they will have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of Yahweh of Armies.

¹¹ते लोक परमेश्वराला घाबरतील. का? कारम परमेश्वर त्यांच्या दैवतांचा नाश करील. मग दूरदूरच्या प्रदेशांतील सर्व लोक परमेश्वराची उपासना करु लागतील.

¹¹Yahweh will be awesome to them, for he will famish all the gods of the land. Men will worship him, everyone from his place, even all the shores of the nations.

¹²म्हणजे कूशींनो, (इथियोपियातील लोकांनो,) तुम्हीसुध्दा, बंर का? परमेश्वराची तलवार तुमच्या लोकांनाही मारील.

¹²You Cushites also, you will be killed by my sword.

¹³नंतर परमेश्वर उत्तरेकडे वळेल, अश्शूरला शिक्षा करील. तो निनवेचा नाश करील. ते शहर म्हणजे ओसाड, रुक्ष वाळवंट होईल.

¹³He will stretch out his hand against the north, destroy Assyria, and will make Nineveh a desolation, as dry as the wilderness.

¹⁴तेथे फक्त मेंढ्या व वन्याप्राणी राहतील. शिल्लक राहिलेल्या खांबांवर घुबडे व कावळे बसतील. त्यांचा आवाज खिडक्यांतून ऐकू येईल. कावळे बसतील. त्यांचा आवाज खिडक्यांतून ऐकू येईल. कावळे दारांच्या पायऱ्यांवर बसतील. त्या रिकाम्या घरांत काळे पक्षी जाऊन बसतील.
