¹မိမိတို့ အိမ်သူအိမ်သားပါလျက်၊ အဘယာကုပ်နှင့်အတူ အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်သို့ရောက်လာသော ဣသရေလ သားတို့၏အမည်ဟူမူကား၊

¹Now these are the names of the sons of Israel, who came into Egypt (every man and his household came with Jacob):

²ရုဗင်၊ ရှိမောင်၊ လေဝိ၊ ယုဒ၊

²Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah,

³ဣသခါ၊ ဇာဗုလုန်၊ ဗင်္ယာမိန်၊

³Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin,

⁴ဒန်၊ နဿလိ၊ ဂဒ်၊ အာရှာတည်း။ - ယာကုပ် အမျိုးသားပေါင်းကား၊ ခုနစ်ဆယ်တည်း။ ယောသပ်သည် အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်၌ရှိနှင့်သတည်း။

⁴Dan and Naphtali, Gad and Asher.

⁶ယောသပ်နှင့် အစ်ကိုများမှစ၍၊ ထိုကာလ အမျိုးသားအပေါင်းတို့သည် သေကြကုန်၏။

⁵All the souls who came out of Jacob’s body were seventy souls, and Joseph was in Egypt already.

⁷ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့သည် သားကိုဘွား၍ အလွန်တိုးပွားများပြားသဖြင့်၊ အလွန်အားကြီး၍ တပြည်လုံး၌ နှံ့ပြားကြလေ၏။

⁶Joseph died, as did all his brothers, and all that generation.

⁸ထိုနောက်မှ အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်၌ ယောသပ်ကို မသိသော ရှင်ဘုရင်သစ်ပေါ်လာ၏။

⁷The children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and grew exceedingly mighty; and the land was filled with them.

⁹ထိုရှင်ဘုရင်ကလည်း၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့သည် ငါတို့ထက် သာ၍များကြ၏။ သာ၍အားကြီး ကြ၏။

⁸Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who didn’t know Joseph.

¹⁰လာကြ၊ သူတို့ကို လိမ္မာစွာ ပြုကြစို့။ သို့မဟုတ် သူတို့သည် များပြားကြလိမ့်မည်။ နောက်တခါ စစ်မှု ရောက်လျှင် ငါတို့ရန်သူဘက်သို့ ဝင်စား၍ ငါတို့ကို တိုက်သဖြင့်၊ ပြည်တော်ထဲက ထွက်သွားကြလိမ့်မည်ဟု မိမိလူတို့အား ဆိုလေ၏။

⁹He said to his people, “Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we.

¹¹ထို့ကြောင့်အဲဂုတ္တုမင်းတို့သည်၊ ကျပ်တည်းစွာ နှိပ်စက်ညှဉ်းဆဲစေခြင်းငှါ အအုပ်အချုပ်ခန့်ထားကြ၏။ ဣသရေလလူတို့သည်၊ ဘဏ္ဍာတော်သိုထားဘို့၊ ပိသုံမြို့နှင့် ရာမသက်မြို့ကို တည်ဆောက်ရကြ၏။

¹⁰Come, let us deal wisely with them, lest they multiply, and it happen that when any war breaks out, they also join themselves to our enemies, and fight against us, and escape out of the land.”

¹²သို့သော်လည်း၊ နှိပ်စက်ခြင်းကို ခံရသည်အတိုင်း၊ တိုးပွားများပြားလျက် ရှိကြ၏။ သူတို့ကြောင့် အဲဂုတ္တု လူတို့သည် စိတ်ညစ်၍၊

¹¹Therefore they set taskmasters over them to afflict them with their burdens. They built storage cities for Pharaoh: Pithom and Raamses.

¹³အလွန်ကြမ်းတမ်းစွာညှဉ်းဆဲကြ၏။

¹²But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and the more they spread out. They were grieved because of the children of Israel.

¹⁴သရွတ်နှင့်အုတ်လုပ်သောအမှု၊ လယ်လုပ်သောအမှုအမျိုးမျိုး၌ ခဲယဉ်းစွာစေခိုင်း၍ အလွန်ဆင်းရဲ ပင်ပန်းစေကြ၏။ စေခိုင်းလေရာရာ၌လည်း ခဲယဉ်းစွာ စေခိုင်းကြ၏။

¹³The Egyptians ruthlessly made the children of Israel serve,

¹⁵ရှိဖရနှင့်ပုအာအမည်ရှိသော ဟေဗြဲဝမ်းဆွဲမ တို့ကို၊ အဲဂုတ္တုရှင်ဘုရင်က၊

¹⁴and they made their lives bitter with hard service, in mortar and in brick, and in all kinds of service in the field, all their service, in which they ruthlessly made them serve.

¹⁶သင်တို့သည် ဟေဗြဲမိန်းမတို့အား ဝမ်းဆွဲလုပ်၍ မွေးရာအရပ်၌ စောင့်နေသောအခါ၊ ယောက်ျားဖြစ်လျှင် သေစေ၊ မိန်းမဖြစ်လျှင် အသက်ရှင်စေဟု အမိန့်တော် ရှိ၏။

¹⁵The king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, of whom the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah,

¹⁷ဝမ်းဆွဲမတို့သည် ဘုရားသခင်ကိုကြောက်ရွံ၍၊ အဲဂုတ္တုရှင်ဘုရင် မိန့်တော်မူသည်အတိုင်းမပြု၊ ယောက်ျားတို့ကို အသက်ချမ်းသာပေးကြ၏။

¹⁶and he said, “When you perform the duty of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them on the birth stool; if it is a son, then you shall kill him; but if it is a daughter, then she shall live.”

¹⁸အဲဂုတ္တုရှင်ဘုရင်သည်လည်း၊ ဝမ်းဆွဲမတို့ကို ခေါ်၍ သင်တို့သည် အဘယ်ကြောင့် ဤသို့ပြုသနည်း။ ယောက်ျားတို့ကိုအဘယ်ကြောင့် အသက်ချမ်းသာပေးသနည်းဟု မေးစစ်သော်၊

¹⁷But the midwives feared God, The Hebrew word rendered “God” is “Elohim.” and didn’t do what the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the baby boys alive.

¹⁹ဝမ်းဆွဲမတို့က၊ ဟေဗြဲမိန်းမတို့သည်၊ အဲဂုတ္တု၊ မိန်းမကဲ့သို့မဟုတ်၊ သန်စွမ်းသောကြောင့်၊ ဝမ်းဆွဲမ မရောက်မှီ သားကိုဘွားတတ်ကြ၏ဟု ပြန်လျှောက်လေ၏။

¹⁸The king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said to them, “Why have you done this thing, and have saved the boys alive?”

²⁰ထိုကြောင့် ဘုရားသခင်သည် ဝမ်းဆွဲမတို့ကို ကျေးဇူးပြုတော်မူ၏။ ထိုလူအမျိုးသည်လည်း များပြား၍ အလွန်အားကြီးကြလေ၏။

¹⁹The midwives said to Pharaoh, “Because the Hebrew women aren’t like the Egyptian women; for they are vigorous, and give birth before the midwife comes to them.”

²¹ဝမ်းဆွဲမတို့သည် ဘုရားသခင်ကို ကြောက်ရွံ့သောကြောင့်၊ သူတို့အိမ်သူအိမ်သားများကို ပြုစုတော် မူ၏။

²⁰God dealt well with the midwives, and the people multiplied, and grew very mighty.

²²ဖာရောဘုရင်ကလည်း၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့တွင်၊ ဘွားမြင်သောသူငယ် ယောက်ျားအပေါင်းတို့ကို မြစ်ထဲသို့ချပစ်စေ။ မိန်းမကိုမူကား အသက်ရှင်စေဟု မိမိလူအပေါင်းတို့ကို မှာထားတော်မူ၏။

²¹It happened, because the midwives feared God, that he gave them families.

²²Pharaoh commanded all his people, saying, “You shall cast every son who is born into the river, and every daughter you shall save alive.”
