¹ငါ့ညီအစ်ကိုတို့၊ ငါတို့သည်သာ၍ ကျပ်တည်းသော စစ်ကြောစီရင်ခြင်းကိုခံရမည်ဟု သင်တို့သိ၍ အများသောဆရာမဖြစ်ကြနှင့်။

¹Let not many of you be teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive heavier judgment.

²ငါတို့ရှိသမျှသည် အများသောအားဖြင့် မှားတတ်ကြ၏။ စကားအားဖြင့် မှားခြင်းမရှိသောသူ မည်သည်ကား၊ စုံလင်သောသူဖြစ်၏။ မိမိကိုယ်ကို တကိုယ်လုံးကို ချုပ်တည်းနိုင်သောသူဖြစ်၏။

²For in many things we all stumble. If anyone doesn’t stumble in word, the same is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also.

³မြင်းကိုနိုင်ခြင်းငှါ ပစပ်ကိုဇက်ခွံ့တတ်၏။ သို့ပြု၍ မြင်းကိုယ်တကိုယ်လုံးကို လှည့်စေတတ်၏။

³Indeed, we put bits into the horses’ mouths so that they may obey us, and we guide their whole body.

⁴ထိုမှတပါး၊ အလွန်ကြီးသောသင်္ဘောသည် ပြင်းစွာသော လေဟုန်နှင့်လွင့်သွားသော်လည်း၊ တက်မ ကိုင်အလိုရှိသည်အတိုင်း၊ ငယ်သောတက်မဖြင့် လှည့်တတ်၏။

⁴Behold, the ships also, though they are so big and are driven by fierce winds, are yet guided by a very small rudder, wherever the pilot desires.

⁵ထိုနည်းတူ၊ လျှာသည်ငယ်သော အင်္ဂါဖြစ်သော်လည်း အလွန်ဝါကြွားတတ်၏။ အဘယ်မျှလောက် များစွာသောထင်းကို အနည်းငယ်သာ မီးသည်ညှိနိုင်သည်ကို ကြည့်ပါလော့။

⁵So the tongue is also a little member, and boasts great things. See how a small fire can spread to a large forest!

⁶လျှာသည် မီးဖြစ်၏။ ဒုစရိုက်၏ လောကဓာတ်လည်းဖြစ်၏။ ထိုသို့နှင့်အညီ၊ လျှာသည်ငါတို့၏ အင်္ဂါတို့တွင်တည်၍ တကိုယ်လုံးကို ညစ်ညူးစေ၏။ ဇာတိစက်ကိုလည်းရှို့တတ်၏။ မိမိသည်လည်း ငရဲမီးရှို့ ခြင်းကိုခံလျက်ရှိ၏။

⁶And the tongue is a fire. The world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire by Gehenna. or, Hell

⁷သားရဲမျိုး၊ ငှက်မျိုး၊ တွားတတ်သောတိရစ္ဆာန်မျိုး၊ ငါးမျိုးတို့ကို လူမျိုးသည် အောင်တတ်သည်အတိုင်း အောင်ခဲ့ပြီ။

⁷For every kind of animal, bird, creeping thing, and thing in the sea, is tamed, and has been tamed by mankind.

⁸လျှာကိုကား၊ အဘယ်လူမဆိုမအောင်နိုင်၊ မဆုံးမနိုင်သော အဆိုးအညစ်ဖြစ်၏။ သေစေတတ်သော အဆိပ်အတောက်နှင့်ပြည့်စုံ၏။

⁸But nobody can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

⁹ငါတို့သည်လျှာဖြင့် ခမည်းတော်ဘုရားသခင်ကို ကောင်းကြီးပေးတတ်ကြ၏။ ဘုရားသခင်၏ ပုံသဏ္ဌာန်တော်နှင့်အညီဖန်ဆင်းသော လူတို့ကို လျှာဖြင့်ကျိန်ဆဲတတ်ကြ၏။

⁹With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who are made in the image of God.

¹⁰နှုတ်တပါးတည်းအထဲက၊ ထောမနာချီးမွမ်းခြင်းနှင့် ကျိန်ဆဲခြင်းထွက်တတ်ပါသည်တကား၊ ငါ့ညီအစ်ကိုတို့၊ ထိုသို့မဖြစ်ကောင်းရာ။

¹⁰Out of the same mouth comes forth blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.

¹¹စမ်းရေပေါက်တပေါက်တည်း အထဲကချိုသောရေနှင့် ခါးသောရေထွက်တတ်သလော။

¹¹Does a spring send out from the same opening fresh and bitter water?

¹²ငါ့ညီအစ်ကိုတို့၊ သင်္ဘောသဖန်းပင်သည် သံလွင်သီးကို သီးနိုင်သလော။ စပျစ်ပင်သည် သင်္ဘော သဖန်းသီးကို သီးနိုင်သလော။ ထိုအတူ၊ ငန်သောရေသည် ချိုသောရေကိုမဖြစ်စေနိုင်။

¹²Can a fig tree, my brothers, yield olives, or a vine figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh water.

¹³သင်တို့တွင် အတတ်အလိမ္မာနှင့်ပြည့်စုံသော ပညာရှိတစုံတယောက်ရှိလျှင်၊ ထိုသူသည် ပညာ၏ နှုးညံ့သိမ်မွေ့ခြင်းနှင့်တကွ၊ ကောင်းမြတ်သော ကျင့်ကြံပြုမူခြင်းအားဖြင့် မိမိအမှုတို့ကို ပြပါစေ။

¹³Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom.

¹⁴သို့မဟုတ်သင်တို့စိတ်ထဲမှာ ခါးစွာသော ဂုဏ်ပြိုင်ခြင်း၊ ရန်တွေ့ခြင်းမရှိလျှင်၊ သမ္မာတရားကို မုသာဖြင့် ဆန်၍ မဝါကြွားကြနှင့်။

¹⁴But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t boast and don’t lie against the truth.

¹⁵ထိုသို့သောပညာသည် အထက်မှသက်ရောက်သောပညာမဟုတ်။ မြေကြီးပညာ၊ ဇာတိပကတိပညာ၊ နတ်ဆိုးပညာဖြစ်၏။

¹⁵This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic.

¹⁶အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ဂုဏ်ပြိုင်ခြင်း၊ ရန်တွေ့ခြင်းရှိလျှင်၊ မငြိမ်မဝပ်ရုန်းရင်းခတ်ခြင်း၊ ဆိုးညစ်စွာ ပြုမူခြင်း အမျိုးမျိုးရှိတတ်၏။

¹⁶For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed.

¹⁷အထက်မှ သက်ရောက်သောပညာမူကား၊ ရှေ့ဦးစွာစင်ကြယ်၏။ ထိုမှတပါး၊ အသင့်အတင့်နေ တတ်ကြ၏။ ဖြည်းညှင်းသောသဘောရှိ၏။ သွေးဆောင်လွယ်၏။ ကရုဏာနှင့်၎င်း၊ ကောင်းကျိုးနှင့်၎င်း ပြည့်စုံ၏။ လျစ်လျူသောစိတ်ရှိ၏။ လျှို့ဝှက်ခြင်းနှင့်ကင်းစင်၏။

¹⁷But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

¹⁸အသင့်အတင့်နေခြင်းငှါပြုစုတတ်သော သူတို့သည် ဖြောင့်မတ်ခြင်းတရား၏ မျိုးစေ့ကိုငြိမ်သက်စွာ ကြဲတတ်ကြ၏။

¹⁸Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
