¹ရုဗင်အမျိုးသားနှင့် ဂဒ်အမျိုးသားတို့သည် အလွန်များပြားသော တိရစ္ဆာန်တို့နှင့် ကြွယ်ဝသည်ဖြစ်၍၊ ယာဇာပြည်၊ ဂိလဒ်ပြည်တို့၌ တိရစ္ဆာန် ကျက်စားစရာကို ကောင်းသည်ကို မြင်ကြလျှင်၊-

¹Now the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had a very great multitude of livestock: and when they saw the land of Jazer, and the land of Gilead, that behold, the place was a place for livestock;

²မောရှေနှင့် ယဇ်ပုရောဟိတ် ဧလာဇာ အစရှိ သော ပရိသတ်တို့တွင် မင်းများတို့ထံသို့ လာ၍၊

²the children of Gad and the children of Reuben came and spoke to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and to the princes of the congregation, saying,

³အတရုတ်၊ ဒိဘုန်၊ ယာဇာ၊ နိမရ၊ ဟေရှဘုန်၊ ဧလာလေ၊ ရှေဘံ၊ နေဗော၊ ဗောန တည်းဟူသော၊

³“Ataroth, and Dibon, and Jazer, and Nimrah, and Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Sebam, and Nebo, and Beon,

⁴ဣသရေလပရိသတ်ရှေ့မှာ ထာဝရဘုရား လုပ်ကြံတော်မူသော ဤပြည်သည် တိရစ္ဆာန်နှင့် တော်လျော်ပါ၏။ ကိုယ်တော် ကျွန်တို့၌လည်း တိရစ္ဆာန် များပြားပါ၏။

⁴the land which Yahweh struck before the congregation of Israel, is a land for livestock; and your servants have livestock.”

⁵သို့ဖြစ်၍ ကျွန်တော်တို့သည် ရှေ့တော်၌ မျက်နှာရလျှင်၊ ဤပြည်ကို ကိုယ်တော် ကျွန်တို့အား အပိုင်ပေးတော်မူပါ။ ကျွန်တော်တို့ကို ယော်ဒန်မြစ်တဘက်သို့ ပို့ဆောင်တော်မမူပါနှင့်ဟု လျှောက်ကြ၏။

⁵They said, “If we have found favor in your sight, let this land be given to your servants for a possession; don’t bring us over the Jordan.”

⁶မောရှေကလည်း၊ သင်တို့သည် ဤအရပ်၌ နေရစ်၍၊ သင်တို့ ညီအစ်ကိုများတို့သည် စစ်တိုက်သွား ရမည်လော။

⁶Moses said to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, “Shall your brothers go to the war, and shall you sit here?

⁷ထာဝရဘုရား ပေးတော်မူသော ပြည်သို့ ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့သည် မကူးမသွားမည် အကြောင်း၊ သူတို့စိတ်ကို အဘယ်ကြောင့် ဖျက်ကြ သနည်း။

⁷Why do you discourage the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which Yahweh has given them?

⁸ပြည်တော်ကို ကြည့်ရှုစေခြင်းငှါ၊ သင်တို့ အဘ တို့ကို ကာဒေရှဗာနာအရပ်က ငါစေလွှတ်သောအခါ ထိုသို့ပြုကြ၏။

⁸Your fathers did so when I sent them from Kadesh Barnea to see the land.

⁹ဧရှကောလချောင်းသို့ သွား၍ ပြည်တော်ကို ကြည့်မြင်ပြီးမှ၊ ထာဝရဘုရားပေးတော်မူသော ပြည်သို့ ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့သည် မသွားမည်အကြောင်း သူတို့စိတ်ကို ဖျက်ကြ၏။

⁹For when they went up to the valley of Eshcol, and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land which Yahweh had given them.

¹⁰ထိုအခါ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် အမျက်တော်ထွက် လျက်၊ အကယ်စင်စစ် အာဗြဟံ၊ ဣဇာတ်၊ ယာကုပ်တို့ အား ငါကျိန်ဆို၍ ပေးသောပြည်ကို၊ အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်မှ ထွက်လာသောသူတို့တွင် ကေနက်အမျိုး ယေဖုန္နာ၏သား ကာလက်နှင့် နုန်၏သား ယောရှုမှတပါး၊ အဘယ်သူမျှ ငါ့နောက်သို့ လုံးလုံး မလိုက်သောကြောင့်၊ အသက် နှစ်ဆယ်လွန်သောသူ တစုံတယောက်မျှ မမြင်ရ။ ထိုသူ နှစ်ယောက်သာ ထာဝရဘုရားနောက်သို့ လုံးလုံးလိုက်ကြ ပြီဟု ကျိန်ဆိုတော်မူ၏။

¹⁰Yahweh’s anger was kindled in that day, and he swore, saying,

¹³ထိုသို့ ထာဝရဘုရားရှေ့တော်၌ ဆိုးသောအမှု ကို ပြုသောလူအပေါင်းတို့သည် မပျက်စီးမှီတိုင်အောင်၊ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့ကို အမျက် ထွက်၍ အနှစ်လေးဆယ်ပတ်လုံး တော၌ လှည့်လည်စေ တော်မူ၏။

¹¹‘Surely none of the men who came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; because they have not wholly followed me:

¹⁴ယခုမူကား၊ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ဣသရေလ အမျိုးသားတို့ကို သာ၍ ပြင်းစွာအမျက်တော်ထွက်စေ မည်အကြောင်း၊ သာ၍ဆိုးသောသူတည်းဟူသော သင်တို့ သည် သင်တို့အဘများကိုယ်စား ပေါ်ထကြပြီတကား။

¹²except Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, and Joshua the son of Nun; because they have followed Yahweh completely.’

¹⁵သင်တို့သည် နောက်တော်သို့မလိုက်ဘဲ လွှဲသွား ကြလျှင်၊ တဖန် ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့ကို တော၌ စွန့်ပစ်တော်မူသဖြင့်၊ သင်တို့သည် ဤလူမျိုးအပေါင်းကို ဖျက်ဆီးကြလိမ့်မည်ဟု ဂဒ်အမျိုးသား၊ ရုဗင်အမျိုးသားတို့ အား ပြန်ပြော၏။

¹³Yahweh’s anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander back and forth in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, who had done evil in the sight of Yahweh, was consumed.

¹⁶ထိုသူတို့သည်၊ အနီးအပါးသို့ချဉ်းကပ်၍၊ ကျွန်တော်တို့သည် ကျွန်တော်တို့ တိရစ္ဆာန်များအဘို့ ဤအရပ်၌ သိုးခြံတို့ကို၎င်း၊ ကျွန်တော်တို့ သူငယ်များ အဘို့ မြို့တို့ကို၎င်း တည်ပါမည်။

¹⁴“Behold, you have risen up in your fathers’ place, an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of Yahweh toward Israel.

¹⁷သို့ရာတွင် ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့ကို သူတို့ နေရာအရပ်သို့ မပို့မဆောင်မှီတိုင်အောင်၊ ကျွန်တော် တို့သည် လက်နက်ကိုင်လျက် သူတို့ရှေ့မှာ သွားပါမည်။ ဤပြည်၌ ကျန်ကြွင်းသေးသော လူတို့ကြောင့် ကျွန်တော် တို့သူငယ်များသည် ခိုင်ခံ့သောမြို့၌ နေရပါမည်။

¹⁵For if you turn away from after him, he will yet again leave them in the wilderness; and you will destroy all this people.”

¹⁸ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားအပေါင်းတို့သည် အမွေခံ ရသောမြေကို မဝင်စားမှီတိုင်အောင် ကျွန်တော်တို့သည် ကိုယ်အိမ်သို့ မပြန်မလာပါ။

¹⁶They came near to him, and said, “We will build sheepfolds here for our livestock, and cities for our little ones:

¹⁹ကျွန်တော်တို့သည် ယော်ဒန်မြစ်တဘက်၌ သူတို့ နှင့်အတူ အမွေကို မတောင်းမခံပါ။ ကျွန်တော်တို့အမွေ ခံရာမြေသည် ယော်ဒန် မြစ်အရှေ့ဘက်၌ ကျပါသည်ဟု လျှောက် ပြန်ကြ၏။

¹⁷but we ourselves will be ready armed to go before the children of Israel, until we have brought them to their place: and our little ones shall dwell in the fortified cities because of the inhabitants of the land.

²⁰မောရှေကလည်း၊ သို့ဖြစ်၍ သင်တို့သည် ထာဝရဘုရားရှေ့တော်၌ လက်နက်ကိုင်လျက် စစ်တိုက်သွား လျှင်၎င်း၊

¹⁸We will not return to our houses, until the children of Israel have inherited every man his inheritance.

²¹ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ရန်သူတို့ကို ရှေ့တော်မှ နှင်ထုတ်၍ ထိုပြည်ကို အောင်တော်မမူမှီတိုင်အောင်၊

¹⁹For we will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan, and forward; because our inheritance is fallen to us on this side of the Jordan eastward.”

²²သင်တို့ရှိသမျှသည် လက်နက်ကိုင်လျက် ထာဝရ ဘုရားရှေ့တော်၌ ယော်ဒန်မြစ်တဘက်သို့ ကူးသွားလျှင် ၎င်း၊ ထိုနောက်မှ ထာဝရဘုရားရှေ့၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုး သားရှေ့၌ အပြစ်ကင်းလွတ်လျက်၊ ဤပြည်သို့ ပြန်လာ၍ ထာဝရဘုရားအခွင့်နှင့် အမွေခံရကြမည်။

²⁰Moses said to them, “If you will do this thing, if you will arm yourselves to go before Yahweh to the war,

²³ထိုသို့မပြုလျှင်မူကား၊ သင်တို့သည် ထာဝရ ဘုရားကို ပြစ်မှားခြင်းရှိသည်အတိုင်း၊ ထိုအပြစ်သည် သင်တို့ကို လိုက်၍ မှီလိမ့်မည်။

²¹and every armed man of you will pass over the Jordan before Yahweh, until he has driven out his enemies from before him,

²⁴သူငယ်များအဘို့ မြို့တို့ကို၎င်း၊ သိုးများအဘို့ သိုးခြံတို့ကို၎င်း၊ တည်လုပ်ကြလော့။ ယခုပြောသမျှ အတိုင်း ပြုကြလော့ဟုဆိုလျှင်၊

²²and the land is subdued before Yahweh; then afterward you shall return, and be guiltless towards Yahweh, and towards Israel; and this land shall be to you for a possession before Yahweh.

²⁵ဂဒ်အမျိုးသားနှင့် ရုဗင်အမျိုးတို့က၊ ကိုယ်တော် ကျွန်တို့သည် သခင်မိန့်တော်မူသည်အတိုင်း ပြုပါ မည်။

²³“But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against Yahweh; and be sure your sin will find you out.

²⁶ကျွန်တော်တို့ မယားသားသူငယ်များနှင့် သိုးနွား အလုံးစုံတို့သည် ဤအရပ်၊ ဂိလဒ်မြို့တို့၌ နေရစ်ရပါမည်။

²⁴Build cities for your little ones, and folds for your sheep; and do that which has proceeded out of your mouth.”

²⁷ကိုယ်တော် ကျွန်အပေါင်းတို့မူကား၊ သခင် မိန့်တော်မူသည်အတိုင်း၊ လက်နက်ကိုင်လျက် ထာဝရ ဘုရားရှေ့တော်၌ စစ်တိုက်ခြင်းငှါ ကူးသွားပါမည်ဟု လျှောက်ထားကြ၏။

²⁵The children of Gad and the children of Reuben spoke to Moses, saying, “Your servants will do as my lord commands.

²⁸ထိုအမှုကြောင့်၊ မောရှေသည် ယဇ်ပုရောဟိတ် ဧလာဇာ၊ နုန်၏သားယောရှု အစရှိသော ဣသရေလ အမျိုးသား အဆွေအမျိုး သူကြီးများတို့ကို ခေါ်၍၊

²⁶Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our livestock, shall be there in the cities of Gilead;

²⁹ဂဒ်အမျိုးသားနှင့် ရုဗင်အမျိုးသားတို့သည် စစ်တိုက်ခြင်းငှါ အသီးအသီးလက်နက်ကိုင်လျက် ထာဝရ ဘုရားရှေ့တော်၌ သင်တို့နှင့်အတူ ယော်ဒန်မြစ်တဘက် သို့ ကူးသွား၍၊ သင်တို့သည် ထိုပြည်ကို အောင်ပြီးလျှင်၊ ထိုအမျိုးသားတို့အား ဂိလဒ်ပြည်ကို အပိုင်ပေးရကြမည်။

²⁷but your servants will pass over, every man who is armed for war, before Yahweh to battle, as my lord says.”

³⁰သို့မဟုတ် သူတို့သည်လက်နက်ကိုင်လျက် သင်တို့နှင့်အတူ မကူးမသွားလျှင်၊ ခါနာန်ပြည်၌ သင်တို့ တွင် ကိုယ်ပိုင်ရာမြေကို ခံယူရကြမည်ဟု မှာထားလေ၏။

²⁸So Moses commanded concerning them to Eleazar the priest, and to Joshua the son of Nun, and to the heads of the fathers’ households of the tribes of the children of Israel.

³¹ဂဒ်အမျိုးသားနှင့် ရုဗင်အမျိုးသားတို့ကလည်း၊ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ကိုယ်တော် ကျွန်တို့အား မိန့်တော်မူ သည်အတိုင်း၊ ကျွန်တော်တို့သည် ပြုကြပါမည်။

²⁹Moses said to them, “If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben will pass with you over the Jordan, every man who is armed to battle, before Yahweh, and the land shall be subdued before you; then you shall give them the land of Gilead for a possession:

³²ယော်ဒန်မြစ်အရှေ့ဘက်၌ အမွေခံရပါမည် အကြောင်း၊ ကျွန်တော်တို့သည် လက်နက်ကိုင်လျက် ထာဝရဘုရားရှေ့တော်၌ ခါနာန်ပြည်သို့ ကူးသွားပါ မည်ဟု ပြန်လျှောက်ကြ၏။

³⁰but if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Canaan.”

³³ထိုအခါ မောရှေသည် အာမောရိရှင်ဘုရင် ရှိဟုန်၏ နိုင်ငံဆိုင်သမျှ၊ ဗာရှန်ရှင်ဘုရင် ဩဃ၏ နိုင်ငံဆိုင်သမျှသောနယ်မြေ မြို့ရွာတို့ကို ဂဒ်အမျိုးသား၊ ရုဗင်အမျိုးသား၊ ယောသပ်၏သား မနာရှေမှ ဆင်းသက် သော မနာရှေအမျိုးသား တဝက်၌ အပ်ပေးလေ၏။

³¹The children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying, “As Yahweh has said to your servants, so will we do.

³⁴ဂဒ်အမျိုးသားတို့သည် ဒိဗုန်၊ အတရုတ်၊ အာရော်၊

³²We will pass over armed before Yahweh into the land of Canaan, and the possession of our inheritance shall remain with us beyond the Jordan.”

³⁵အာတရုတ်၊ ရှောဖန်၊ ယာဇာ၊ ယုမ္ဘေဟ၊

³³Moses gave to them, even to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land, according to its cities and borders, even the cities of the surrounding land.

³⁶ဗက်နိမရာ၊ ဗေသာရန်မြို့များကို၎င်း၊ သိုးခြံများ ကို၎င်း တည်လုပ်ကြ၏။

³⁴The children of Gad built Dibon, and Ataroth, and Aroer,

³⁷ရုဗင်အမျိုးသားတို့သည် ဟေရှဘုန်၊ ဧလာလေ၊ ကိရယသိမ်၊

³⁵and Atrothshophan, and Jazer, and Jogbehah,

³⁸နေဗော၊ ဗာလမောန၊ ရှိဗမမြို့များကို အသစ် သောအမည်ဖြင့် သမုတ်၍ တည်ကြ၏။

³⁶and Beth Nimrah, and Beth Haran: fortified cities, and folds for sheep.

³⁹မနာရှေမှ ဆင်းသက်သော မာခိရအမျိုးသား တို့သည်၊ ဂိလဒ်မြို့သို့ သွား၍သိမ်းယူပြီးလျှင်၊ အရင် မြို့သား အာမောရိလူတို့ကို နှင်ထုတ်ကြ၏။

³⁷The children of Reuben built Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Kiriathaim,

⁴⁰မောရှေသည် ဂိလဒ်မြို့ကို မနာရှေ၏သား မာခိရအမျိုးသားတို့အား ပေး၍ သူတို့သည် နေကြ၏။

³⁸and Nebo, and Baal Meon, (their names being changed), and Sibmah: and they gave other names to the cities which they built.

⁴¹မနာရှေအမျိုးသား ယာဣရသည်လည်း သွား၍ ဂိလဒ်ရွာများကို သိမ်းယူပြီးမှ၊ ဟာဝုတ်ယာဣရ အမည် ဖြင့် သမုတ်လေ၏။

³⁹The children of Machir the son of Manasseh went to Gilead, and took it, and dispossessed the Amorites who were therein.

⁴²နောဗာသည်လည်း သွား၍ ကေနတ်မြို့ရွာတို့ကို သိမ်းယူပြီးမှ၊ မိမိအမည်ဖြင့် နောဗာမြို့ဟု သမုတ် လေ၏။

⁴⁰Moses gave Gilead to Machir the son of Manasseh; and he lived therein.

⁴¹Jair the son of Manasseh went and took its towns, and called them Havvoth Jair.

⁴²Nobah went and took Kenath, and its villages, and called it Nobah, after his own name.
