¹इस्राएल ले मिश्र त्यागेर गए। याकूबले त्यो विदेशलाई त्यागेर गए।

¹When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;

²यहूदा परमेश्वरको खास मानिस भए। इस्राएल उसको राज्य हुन गयो।

²Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.

³लाल समुद्रले यो देखेर भाग्यो, यर्दन नदी उल्टा बग्न थाल्यो।

³The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.

⁴पर्वतहरू भेडाहरूझै’ वरिपरि नाच्न थाले। पहाडहरू भेडाका पाठाहरू जस्तै उफ्रन थाले

⁴The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.

⁵लाल समुद्र, तिमी किन भागेर गयौं? यर्दन नदी, तिमी किन फर्केर भागी गयौ?

⁵What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?

⁶हे पर्वतहरू! तिमीहरू भेडाहरू झैं किन खुशीले उफ्रियौ? अनि पहाडहरू! तिमीहरू किन भेडाका पाठाहरू झै’ बुथ्रुक-बुथ्रुक उफ्रियौ?

⁶Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?

⁷हे पृथ्वी, याकूबको परमप्रभु परमेश्वर स्वामीको सामने थरहरी हो।

⁷Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

⁸परमेश्वर नै हुन् जसले चट्टानबाट पानी बग्ने बनाउनु भयो। परमेश्वरले कडा चट्टानबाट झरना बहाउनु भयो।

⁸Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
