¹`And thou, son of man, take to thee a sharp weapon, the barber`s razor thou dost take to thee, and thou hast caused [it] to pass over thy head, and over thy beard, and thou hast taken to thee weighing scales, and apportioned them.

²A third part with fire thou dost burn in the midst of the city, at the fulness of the days of the siege; and thou hast taken the third part, thou dost smite with a weapon round about it; and the third part thou dost scatter to the wind, and a weapon I draw out after them.

³तर त्यति बेला तिमी जानुपर्छ अनि त्यो कपालको केही भाग ल्याउनु पर्छ। त्यो कपालहरू ल्याएर, त्यसलाई छोप अनि त्यसको रक्षा गर। यसले देखाउँछ कि म आफ्नो मानिसहरू मध्ये कतिलाई बचाउँनेछु।

³And thou hast taken thence a few in number — and hast bound them in thy skirts;

⁴अनि अब केही ज्यादा कपालहरू ल्याऊ अनि तिनीहरूलाई आगोमाथि फ्याँकिदेऊ। यसले त्यो देखाउँछ आगो त्यहाँबाट शुरू हुनेछ अनि इस्राएलको सम्पूर्ण परिवारलाई जलाई दिनेछ।”

⁴and of them thou dost take again, and hast cast them unto the midst of the fire, and hast burned them in the fire — out of it cometh forth a fire unto all the house of Israel.

⁵त्यति बेला परमप्रभु मेरा मालिकले मलाई भन्नुभयो, “त्यो ईंटा यरूशलेम हो। मैले यरूशलेम शहरलाई अन्य राष्ट्रहरूको बीचमा राखेको छु। यस समय इस्राएलको चारैतिर अन्य देशहरू छन्।

⁵Thus said the Lord Jehovah: this [is] Jerusalem, In the midst of the nations I have set her, And round about her [are] the lands.

⁶यरूशलेमका मानिसहरूले मेरो नियमहरू र विधिहरू प्रति विद्रोह गरे। तिनीहरू अन्य कुनै पनि राष्ट्र भन्दा एकदमै नराम्रो छन्। तिनीहरूले मेरो नियमहरू त्यति ज्यादा विरोध गरे जति चारैतिरको अन्य देशहरूले विरोध गरेनन्। तिनीहरूले मेरो आदेशहरू सुन्नु अस्वीकार गरिदिए। तिनीहरूले मेरो विधिहरू र विधानहरू पालन गरेनन्।”

⁶And she changeth My judgments into wickedness more than the nations, And My statutes more than the lands that [are] round about her, For against My judgments they have kicked, And My statutes — they have not walked in them.

⁷यसकारण परमप्रभु मेरो मालिकले भन्नुभयो, “म तिमीहरूमाथि भयंकर विपत्ती ल्याइदिनेछु। किन? किनभने तिमीहरूले मेरो नियम पालन गरेनौ। तिमीहरूले मेरो नियमहरू तिमीहरूको चारै तिर बस्ने मानिसहरूले भन्दा पनि ज्यादा भङ्ग गर्यौ। तिमीहरूले त्यो काम पनि गर्यौ जुन तिनीहरूले गल्ती भन्छन्।”

⁷Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because of your multiplying above the nations that [are] around you, In My statutes ye have not walked, And My judgments ye have not done, According to the judgments of the nations That [are] round about you ye have not done.

⁸यसकारण परमप्रभु मेरो मालिक भन्नुहुन्छ, “म पनि तिमीहरूको विरूद्धमा छु, म तिमीहरूलाई यस्तो दण्ड दिनेछु जसलाई अर्को मानिसले पनि देख्न सकोस्।

⁸Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I [am] against thee, even I, And I have done in thy midst judgments, Before the eyes of the nations.

⁹म तिमीहरूलाई यस्तो गर्नेछु जुन मैले अघि कहिले गरेको थिइनँ। अनि म त्यो भयानक काम फेरि कहिले पनि गर्नेछैन। किनभने तिमीहरूले धेरै डरलाग्दा कार्यहरू गरेकाछौ।

⁹And I have done in thee that which I have not done, And that which I do not its like again, Because of all thine abominations.

¹⁰यरूशलेमका मानिसहरू भोकले यति तडपिने छन् कि आमा-बाबुले तिनीहरूको आफ्नै छोरा-छोरीहरू खाने छन् अनि छोरा-छोरीहरूले तिनीहरूको आफ्नै आमा बाबुहरू खाने छन्। म तिनीहरूलाई यस्तो प्रकारले दण्ड दिनेछु, अनि जो जति बाँचेको हुन्छन् तिनीहरूलाई म हावामा तितर-बितर पारिदिनेछु।”

¹⁰Therefore fathers do eat sons in thy midst, And sons eat their fathers, And I have done in thee judgments, And have scattered all thy remnant to every wind.

¹¹परमप्रभु मेरो मालिक भन्नुहुन्छ, “यरूशलेम, म आफ्नो जीवनको शपथ खाएर भन्दैछु म तँलाई दण्ड दिनेछु। म प्रतिज्ञा गर्दैछु कि म तँलाई दण्ड दिनेछु। किन? किनभने तैंले मेरो पवित्र स्थानको विरूद्धमा भयंकर पाप गरिस्। तैले घृणित काम गरेर मेरो स्थान मैला बनाइ दिइस्। म तँलाई दण्ड दिनेछु। म तँमाथि दया गर्ने छैन्। म तेरो निम्ति दुखको अनुभव गर्ने छैन्।

¹¹Therefore, I live — an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah: Because My sanctuary thou hast defiled, With all thy detestable things, And with all thine abominations, Mine eye pitieth not, and I also spare not. Do not even I also diminish?

¹²तेरो एक तिहाईं मानिस शहरभित्र रोगले अनि भोकै मर्नेछन्। तेरो एक तिहाइ मानिस युद्धको समयमा शहर बाहिर मर्नेछन् अनि एक तिहाइ मानिसहरूलाई म आफ्नो तरवार हातमा लिएर खेद्दै तितर-बितर पार्नेछु।

¹²Thy third part — by pestilence they die, And by famine are consumed in thy midst, And the third part, by sword they fall round about thee, And the third part, to every wind I scatter, And a sword I draw out after them.

¹³तब मात्र म तिनीहरू प्रति क्रोधित हुन रोकिनेछु। तिनीहरूले नराम्रो कार्यहरू गरेकोमा म आफैले तिनीहरूमाथि बदला लिन तिनीहरूलाई घटाउनेछु। तब तिनीहरूले सम्झनेछन् म परमप्रभुले तिनीहरूको विरूद्धमा उत्साहित भएर काम गरेको छु।”

¹³And completed hath been Mine anger, And I have caused My fury to rest on them, And I have been comforted, And they have known that I, Jehovah, have spoken in My zeal, In My completing My fury on them.

¹⁴परमेश्वरले भन्नुभयो, “यरूशलेम म तँलाई नष्ट गर्छु। तँ ढुङ्गाको थुप्रो बाहेक अरू केही हुने छैनस्। चारैतिरका मानिसहरूले तेरो हाँसो उडाउने छन्। प्रत्येक मानिस जुन तेरो छेउबाट जान्छ त्यसले तेरो हाँसो उडाउँछ।

¹⁴And I give thee for a waste, And for a reproach among nations that [are] round about thee, Before the eyes of every passer by.

¹⁵चारैतिरका जातिहरूले तेरो हाँसो उडाउँने छन्, तर त्यसबाट तिनीहरूले शिक्षा पाउँनेछन्। तिनीहरूले देख्नेछन्, म क्रोधित थिएँ अनि मैले तिमीहरूलाई दण्ड दिएँ। म एकदमै क्रोधित थिएँ। मैले तिमीहरूलाई चेताउनी दिएको थिएँ। म, परमप्रभुले तिमीहरूलाई भनेको थिएँ म के गर्नेछु।

¹⁵And it hath been a reproach and a reviling, An instruction and an astonishment, To nations that [are] round about thee, In My doing in thee judgments, In anger and fury, and in furious reproofs, I, Jehovah, have spoken.

¹⁶मैले भनेको थिएँ कि म तिमीहरूमाथि भयंकर अनिकालको समय पठाइदिनेछु। मैले तिमीसित भनेको थिएँ, ‘म ती चीजहरू पठाउँनेछु जसले तिमीलाई नाश गर्छ अनि तिमीसित भनेको थिएँ म तिम्रो भोजनको आपूर्ति खोस्नेछु, अनि त्यो अनिकालको समय घरि-घरि आउनेछ।

¹⁶In My sending the evil arrows of famine among them, That have been for destruction, That I send to destroy you, And famine I am adding upon you, And I have broken to you the staff of bread.

¹⁷मैले तिमीसँग भनेको थिएँ कि म तिमीहरू भएको ठाउँमा अनिकाल या जङ्गली जनावर पठाउँनेछु, जसले तिम्रो नानीहरू मार्नेछ। मैले तिमीसित भनेको थिएँ कि पुरै शहरमा रोग अनि मृत्यु फैलिनेछ अनि म ती सैनिक शत्रुहरू तिम्रो विरूद्धमा लड्नका निम्ति ल्याउँदैछु। म परमप्रभुले यी सबै कुराहरू घट्नेछ भनेको थिएँ अनि तिनीहरू घट्नेछन्।”

¹⁷And I have sent on you famine and evil beasts, And they have bereaved thee, And pestilence and blood pass over on thee, And a sword I do bring in against thee, I, Jehovah, have spoken!`
