1शिनारका राजा अम्रापेल, एल्लासारका राजा अर्योक, एलामका राजा कदोर्ला ओमेर, तिदाका राजा गोयीम थिए।
1And it cometh to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goyim,
2यी सबै मिलेर सदोमका राजा बेरा, गमोराका राजा विर्शा अदमाका राजा शिनाब, सबोयीमका राजा शेमेबेर र बेलाका राजासित युद्ध लडे। (बेलालाई सोअर पनि भनिन्छ)।
2they have made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboim, and the king of Bela, which [is] Zoar.
3यी सब राजाहरूले आफ्न्ना-आफ्ना सेनाहरू सिद्दीमको बेंसीमा भेला पारे। (वर्तमान खाराको समुद्र नै सिद्दीमको बेंसी हो)।
3All these have been joined together unto the valley of Siddim, which [is] the Salt Sea;
4यी राजाहरुले राजा कदोर्लाओमेरलाई बाह्र वर्षसम्म सेवा गरेका थिए तर तेह्रौं वर्षमा यी सब राजाहरूले तिनको विरूद्ध विद्रोह गरे।
4twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and the thirteenth year they rebelled.
5यसर्थ राजा कदोर्लाओमेर अरू राजाहरूसित मिले जो उनको समर्थनमा थिए, तिनीहरूसित युद्ध गर्न आए। राजा कदोर्लाओमेर र तिनका सहयोगीहरूले अस्तरो कर्णोममा रपाईलाई पराजित गरे। तिनीहरुले हाममा जूजी मानिसहरू, शावे-किर्यामा एमीमका मानिसहरूलाई परास्त गरे।
5And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings who [are] with him, and they smite the Rephaim in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzim in Ham, and the Emim in Shaveh Kiriathaim,
6अनि तिनीहरूले सेईर एल्पारान पहाडी इलाकामा बसो-बास गर्ने होरीत मानिसहरुलाई पराजित गरे। (एल्पारान मरूभूमि नजिक छ)।
6and the Horites in their mount Seir, unto El-Paran, which [is] by the wilderness;
7त्यसपछि राजा कदोर्लाओमेर एनमिशपात (कादेश) फर्किए अनि हस्सोन्तामारमा बोसो-बास गर्ने अमालेकी अनि अमोरीहरूलाई परास्त गरे।
7and they turn back and come in unto En-Mishpat, which [is] Kadesh, and smite the whole field of the Amalekite, and also the Amorite who is dwelling in Hazezon-Tamar.
8त्यस वेला सदोम, गमोरा, अदमा, सबोयीम र बेलाका राजाहरू मिले अनि तिनीहरूको शत्रुसित सिद्दीमको बेंसीमा युद्ध गर्न भनी गए।
8And the king of Sodom goeth out, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboim, and the king of Bela, which [is] Zoar; and they set the battle in array with them in the valley of Siddim,
9तिनीहरूले एलामका राजा कदोर्लाओमेर, गोइमका राजा तिदाल, शिनारका राजा अम्रापेल अनि एल्लासारका राजा अर्योकसित युद्ध लडे। अतः पाँच जना राजाहरूको विरूद्धमा चार जना राजाहरू थिए।
9with Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goyim, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with the five.
10सिद्दीमको उपत्यकामा धेरै अलकत्राका खाल्डाहरू थिए। सदोम र गमोरका राजाहरू आफ्नो सेनाहरू समेत भागे। धेरै सेनाहरू ती खाल्डाहरूमा परे। तर रहेका सेनाहरू पहाडी अञ्चलतिर भागे।
10And the valley of Siddim [is] full of bitumen-pits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah flee, and fall there, and those left have fled to the mountain.
11शत्रुहरूले सदोम अनि गोमराको सबै सम्पत्ति अनि तिनीहरूको सबै खाद्य पनि लगेर गए।
11And they take the whole substance of Sodom and Gomorrah, and the whole of their food, and go away;
12तिनीहरूले अब्रामको दाज्युको छोरा लूतसंगै उसको सबै सम्पत्ति लगे
12and they take Lot, Abram`s brother`s son (seeing he is dwelling in Sodom), and his substance, and go away.
13लूतका मानिसहरूमा एकजना जो कैद भएको थिएन र हिबू अब्राम भएको ठाउँमा गएर के भएको थियो वृतान्त दियो। त्यस समय अब्राम एश्कोल र अनेर एमोरीको मम्रेको फलाँटको रूखहरू नजिकै बसेका थिए। तिनीहरूले एक-अर्कामा सहायता गर्नु भनी एउटा सम्झौतामा सही गरेका थिए। अनि तिनीले अब्रामलाई पनि सहायता गर्ने सम्झौता सही गरे।
13And one who is escaping cometh and declareth to Abram the Hebrew, and he is dwelling among the oaks of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner, and they [are] Abram`s allies.
14जब अब्रामले लूत पक्राउ परेको समाचार पाए तिनले आफ्नो सम्पूर्ण परिवारलाई बोलाए। आफ्नो परिवार भित्रका तीन सय अठ्ठार जना प्रशिक्षित सेनाहरू लिई तिनी दानसम्म शत्रुहरूलाई खेद्दै गए।
14And Abram heareth that his brother hath been taken captive, and he draweth out his trained domestics, three hundred and eighteen, and pursueth unto Dan.
15शत्रुहरूमाथि आक्रमण गर्न तिनले आफ्नो सेनाहरूलाई राती दल दलमा भाग गरी दमीसकसको उत्तर दिशामा पर्ने होबासम्म खेदेर तिनीहरूलाई परास्त पारे।
15And he divideth himself against them by night, he and his servants, and smiteth them, and pursueth them unto Hobah, which [is] at the left of Damascus;
16अब्रामले आफ्नो भतिजो लूत र उसको सम्पत्ति, स्त्रीहरू र अरू कैदीहरू दुबै फर्काएर ल्याए।
16and he bringeth back the whole of the substance, and also Lot his brother and his substance hath he brought back, and also the women and the people.
17कदोर्लाओमेर र तिनीसित मिलेका राजाहरूलाई पराजित गेरपछि अब्राम आफ्नो घर फर्के। जब तिनी घर आए सदोमका राजा तिनलाई भेट्न शाबेको बेंसीमा आए। यस ठाउँलाई ऐले राजाको बेंसी भनिन्छ।
17And the king of Sodom goeth out to meet him (after his turning back from the smiting of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings who [are] with him), unto the valley of Shaveh, which [is] the king`s valley.
18शालेमका राजा पनि मल्कीसेदेक रोटी र दाखरस लिएर अब्रामसित भेट्न आए। तिनी सर्वोच्च परमेश्वरको पूजाहारी थिए।
18And Melchizedek king of Salem hath brought out bread and wine, and he [is] priest of God Most High;
19मल्कीसेदेकले अब्रामलाई आशीर्वाद दिएर भनेः “जुन परमेश्वरले पृथ्वी र र्स्वग बनाउनु भयो, सर्वोच्च परमेश्वरले अब्रामलाई आशीर्वाद दिऊन्।
19and he blesseth him, and saith, `Blessed [is] Abram to God Most High, possessing heaven and earth;
20अनि हामी सर्वोच्च परमेश्वरलाई धन्यवाद दिन्छौं। परमेश्वरले तिम्रा शत्रुहरूलाई परास्त पार्न तिमीलाई सहायता गर्नु भयो।” अब्रामले आफूले युद्धमा पाएको प्रत्येक चीजको एक-दशांश मल्कीसेदेकलाई दिए।
20and blessed [is] God Most High, who hath delivered thine adversaries into thy hand;` and he giveth to him a tenth of all.
21तब सदोमका राजाले अब्रामलाई भने, “तिमीले सब चीजहरू आफ्नै निम्ति राख्न सक्छौ। मलाई केवल कैद गरिएका शत्रुहरू फर्काइ देऊ।”
21And the king of Sodom saith unto Abram, `Give to me the persons, and the substance take to thyself,`
22तर अब्रामले सदोमका राजालाई भने, “म सर्वोच्च परमप्रभु परमेश्वरसित जसले स्वर्ग र पृथ्वी बनाउनु भयो, प्रतिज्ञा गरेको छु।
22and Abram saith unto the king of Sodom, `I have lifted up my hand unto Jehovah, God Most High, possessing heaven and earth —
23मैले प्रतिज्ञा गरेको छु कुनै पनि चीज जो तिम्रो हो म लिंदिन, यहाँसम्म एक टुक्रा धागो अथवा जुत्ताको फिता पनि म लिंदिन, म तिमीलाई भन्ने मौका दिंदिन, ‘अब्रामलाई मैले धनी बनाए।’
23from a thread even unto a shoe-latchet I take not of anything which thou hast, that thou say not, I — I have made Abram rich;
24म मात्र त्यो ग्रहण गर्नेछु जो ती जवान मानिसहरूले खाए। तर तिमीले ती अन्य मानिसहरूको भाग तिनीहरूलाई नै दिनु पर्छ। हामीले युद्धमा जितेर ल्याएका चीजहरू ग्रहण गर अनि त्यसबाट अनेर, एरकोल र मम्रेलाई तिनीहरूको हिस्सा देऊ। तिनीहरूले मलाई युद्धमा सहायता गरेका थिए।”
24save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men who have gone with me — Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre — they take their portion.`
