¹पहिला मानिसहरूले सोचे जबूलून र नप्तालीको कुनै महत्व थिएन। तर पछि परमेश्वरले ती तीन जग्गाहरूलाई महिमामय बनाउनु हुनेछ। ती तीन जग्गाहरू हुनः समुद्रको बाटो, यर्दन नदीको पूर्वमा भएको जग्गा र गालीलका गैर-यहूदीहरू।

¹As the former time made light The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, So the latter hath honoured the way of the sea, Beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.

²ती मानिसहरू अन्धकारमय संसारमा बाँचेका थिए। तर तिनीहरूले “दिव्य ज्योति” देख्नेछन्। तिनीहरू अँध्यारोमा बसेका थिए, तर दिव्य ज्योति तिनीहरूमाथि चम्किनेछ।

²The people who are walking in darkness Have seen a great light, Dwellers in a land of death-shade, Light hath shone upon them.

³परमेश्वर, तपाईंकै कारणले गर्दा ती जातिहरूको वृद्धि हुने भयो। तपाईंले मानिसहरूलाई खुशी पार्नु भयो। अनि मानिसहरूले आफ्ना खुशीहरू तपाईंलाई देखाए। खेतमा बाली काट्ने बेलाको झैं त्यो खुशी रमाइलो हुनेछ। त्यो खुशी युद्धमा जितेर आ-आफ्नो भाग बाँडिने बेलाको आनन्द झैं हुनेछ,

³Thou hast multiplied the nation, Thou hast made great its joy, They have joyed before Thee as the joy in harvest, As [men] rejoice in their apportioning spoil.

⁴किन? किनभने तिमीहरूले गह्रुँ भार लगेर गयौ। मानिसहरूका ढाडका गह्रुँ भारी तिमीहरूले हटाएर लगिदियौ। मानिसहरूलाई दण्ड दिने फलामको डन्डा भाँचेर फालिदियौ। यो तिमीहरूले मिद्यानलाई पराजय गरेको बेला जस्तै हुनेछ।

⁴Because the yoke of its burden, And the staff of its shoulder, the rod of its exactor, Thou hast broken as [in] the day of Midian.

⁵युद्धमा चल्ने प्रत्येक सैनिकले लगाएको जुत्ता ध्वंश गराइनेछ। पोशाकमा लागेका रगतको प्रत्येक दाग मेटाइनेछ। ती सबै चीजहरू आगोमा भस्म हुनेछन्।

⁵For every battle of a warrior [is] with rushing, and raiment rolled in blood, And it hath been for burning — fuel of fire.

⁶कुनै विशेष बालक जन्मदा त्यस्तो घट्ना हुनेछ। परमेश्वरले हामीलाई एउटा पुत्र दिनु हुनेछ। त्यही बालकले मानिसहरूमाथि शासन गर्ने जिम्मेवारी लिनेछ। उहाँका नाउँ “अचम्मका सल्लहाकार, पराक्रमी परमेश्वर, सनातनका पिता, शान्तिका राजकुमार कहलाउनु हुनेछ।”

⁶For a Child hath been born to us, A Son hath been given to us, And the princely power is on his shoulder, And He doth call his name Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace.

⁷उहाँको राज्यमा शक्ति र शान्ति रहनेछ। दाऊद परिवारको यस राजा सदा अभिवृद्धि भइरहनेछ। यस राजाले सदा-सदाकोलागि धार्मिकता अनि न्यायका साथ देश शासन गर्नु हुनेछ। सेनाहरूका परमप्रभुसित आफ्ना मानिसहरूप्रति उत्कट प्रेम छ। यस उत्तेजित जोशले गर्दा यो सबै उहाँद्वारा गरिनेछ।

⁷To the increase of the princely power, And of peace, there is no end, On the throne of David, and on his kingdom, To establish it, and to support it, In judgment and in righteousness, Henceforth, even unto the age, The zeal of Jehovah of Hosts doth this.

⁸मेरा मालिकले याकूबका मानिसहरूका विरूद्ध आज्ञा दिनुभयो। इस्राएलको विरूद्धमा दिनुभएको त्यो आज्ञा पालन हुनेछ।

⁸A word hath the Lord sent into Jacob, And it hath fallen in Israel.

⁹[This verse may not be a part of this translation]

⁹And the people have known — all of it, Ephraim, and the inhabitant of Samaria, In pride and in greatness of heart, saying,

¹⁰“ती ईटाहरू झर्न सक्छन, तर हामी फेरि निमार्ण गर्नेछौ। अनि हामी पक्का ढुङ्गाले निमार्ण गर्नेछौ। यो मसिना रूखहरू काटेर ढाल्न सकिन्छ। तर हामी नयाँ रूखहरू रोप्ने छौं।”

¹⁰`Bricks have fallen, and hewn work we build, Sycamores have been cut down, and cedars we renew.`

¹¹यसकारण इस्राएलका विरूद्ध लडाइँ गर्ने मानिसहरू परमप्रभुले पाउनु हुनेछ। परमप्रभुले रसीनका शत्रुहरू तिनीहरूको विरूद्ध उठाउँनु हुनेछ।

¹¹And Jehovah setteth the adversaries of Rezin on high above him, And his enemies he joineth together,

¹²परमप्रभुले पूर्वबाट अरामीहरू र पश्चिमबाट पलिश्तीहरू ल्याउनु हुनेछ। ती शत्रुहरूले आफ्ना सैन्य शक्तिहरूबाट इस्राएललाई पराजित पार्ने छन्। तर परमप्रभु इस्राएलप्रति रिसाइरहेकै हुनुहुनेछ। परमप्रभु मानिसहरूलाई दण्ड दिनलाई तयार हुनुहुन्छ।

¹²Aram from before, and Philistia from behind, And they devour Israel with the whole mouth. With all this not turned back hath His anger, And still His hand is stretched out.

¹³परमप्रभुले मानिसहरूलाई दण्ड दिनुहुनेछ, तर तिनीहरू पाप गर्न रोकिने छैनन्। पाप गरिनै रहनेछन्। तिनीहरू उहाँ प्रति फर्किने छैनन्। तिनीहरूले सेनाहरूका परमप्रभुलाई पछ्याउने छैनन्।

¹³And the people hath not turned back unto Him who is smiting it, And Jehovah of Hosts they have not sought.

¹⁴तब परमप्रभुले इस्राएलको टाउको र पुच्छर काटी फालिदिनु हुनेछ। परमप्रभुले मुख्य फेद र हाँगाहरू काटेर फालिदिनु हुनेछ।

¹⁴And Jehovah cutteth off from Israel head and tail, Branch and reed — the same day,

¹⁵यहाँ टाउको भन्नाले बूढा-प्रधानहरू एवं प्रमुख अगुवाहरू बुझिन्छ। पुच्छरको तात्पर्य अगमवक्ताहरू जो झूट बोल्दछन्।

¹⁵Elder, and accepted of face, he [is] the head, Prophet, teacher of falsehood, he [is] the tail.

¹⁶जुन मानिसहरूले अगुवाई गरे तिनीहरूले गल्ती बाटो डोर्याए। अनि तिनीहरूलाई पछ्याउनेहरू नष्ट हुने छन्।

¹⁶And the eulogists of this people are causing to err, And its eulogised ones are consumed.

¹⁷सम्पूर्ण मानिसहरू दुष्टछन्। यसैले युवावर्गसंग परमप्रभु प्रसन्न हुनुहुन्न्। अनि तिनीहरूका विधवाहरू र टुहरा-टुहरीहरूप्रति परमप्रभु दया दर्शाउनु हुन्न। किन? किनभने सारा मानिसहरू दुष्ट र पापी छन्। तिनीहरू परमेश्वरकै विरूद्ध काम गर्छन्। तिनीहरू झूट बोल्छन यसैले परमेश्वर ती मानिसहरूसंग रिसाएको रहेकै हुनुहुन्छ। परमेश्वर ती मानिसहरूलाई दण्ड दिनलाई अहिले पनि तयार नै हुनुहुन्छ।

¹⁷Therefore, over its young men the Lord rejoiceth not, And its orphans, and its widows He pitieth not, For every one [is] profane, and an evil doer, And every mouth is speaking folly. With all this not turned back hath His anger, And still His hand is stretched out.

¹⁸दुष्टता सानो आगो जस्तै हो। प्रथम, त्यसले सिउँडी र काँढाहरू जलाउँछ। अर्कोपल्ट, त्यसले वनका विस्तृत घाँस र झाडीहरू जलाएर सखाप पार्दछ। अनि अन्तिममा यो भयंकर ठूलो आगो हुन्छ र प्रत्येक कुरा धूवाँमा परिणत हुन्छ।

¹⁸For burned as a fire hath wickedness, Brier and thorn it devoureth, And it kindleth in thickets of the forest, And they lift themselves up, an exaltation of smoke!

¹⁹सेनाहरूका परमप्रभु क्रोधित हुनुहुन्छ, यसैले सारा जमीन आगोमा जलेर भस्म हुनेछ। सारा मानिसहरू त्यस आगोमा जलेर खरानी हुनेछन्। कसैले पनि आफ्नो दाज्यू-भाइलाई बचाउने प्रयास गर्न सक्दैनन्।

¹⁹In the wrath of Jehovah of Hosts Hath the land been consumed, And the people is as fuel of fire; A man on his brother hath no pity,

²⁰मानिसहरूले दाहिनेपट्टि समाउनेछन्, तर त्यसले तिनीहरूको भोक तृप्त गर्नेछैन्। तिनीहरूले देब्रेपट्टि भएको केहि खानेछन तर तृप्ति छुनेछैनन्। तब सबैतिर फर्केर मानिसहरूले आफ्नै शरीर खानेछन्।

²⁰And cutteth down on the right, and hath been hungry, And he devoureth on the left, And they have not been satisfied, Each the flesh of his own arm they devour.

²¹(यसको तात्पर्य, मनश्शे एप्रैमको विरूद्ध लड्ने छ र एप्रैम मनश्शेको विरूद्ध लड्ने छ। अनि तिनीहरू दुवै यहूदाको विरूद्ध फर्किने छन्।) परमप्रभु अझ सम्म इस्राएल सगँ रिसाउनु भएको छ। परमप्रभु तिनीहरूलाई दण्ड दिन अझ पनि तयार नै हुनुहुन्छ।

²¹Manasseh — Ephraim, and Ephraim — Manasseh, Together they [are] against Judah, With all this not turned back hath His anger. And still His hand is stretched out!
