¹यो सन्देश मोआब देशसित सर्म्पकित छ। सेनाहरूका परमप्रभु इस्राएलका परमेश्वर भन्नुहुन्छ “पर्वत नबोको दुर्भाग्य सामुन्ने छ। यो ध्वंस हुनेछ। किर्यातैमको शहर लज्जित हुनेछ अनि कब्जामा पर्नेछ। ती बलिया किल्लाहरू लज्जित तथा हतोत्साही हुनेछन्।

¹Concerning Moab: `Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel: Wo unto Nebo, for it is spoiled, Put to shame, captured hath been Kiriathaim, Put to shame hath been the high tower, Yea, it hath been broken down.

²मोआबलाई फेरि प्रशंसा गरिने छैन। हेशबोनमा मानिसहरूले मोआबको पराजयको युक्ति रचे। तिनीहरूले भने, ‘आऊ, हामी मिलेर त्यस ठाउँलाई नष्टपारौं ताकि अब उसो एउटा जाति नरहोस्।’ हे मदमेन, तिमीलाई पनि चूपचाप पारिन्छ। तरवारले तिम्रो खेदो गर्नेछ।

²There is no more praise of Moab, In Heshbon they devised against it evil: Come, and we cut it off from [being] a nation, Also, O Madmen, thou art cut off, After thee goeth a sword.

³होरोनैमबाट आएको चिच्याहट सुन। तिनीहरू लुटपाट र विध्वंसले गर्दा चिच्याई रहेकाछन्।

³A voice of a cry [is] from Horonaim, Spoiling and great destruction.

⁴मोआब नष्ट हुने नै छ। उसका स-साना बालकहरू गुहार माग्दै रूने छन्।

⁴Destroyed hath been Moab, Caused a cry to be heard have her little ones.

⁵मोआबका मानिसहरू रूँदै लूहीतको उकालो बाटो जान्छन्। होरोनैम तिर जाने ओह्रालो बाटोमा ध्वंसको परितापमा क्रन्दन सुनिन्छ।

⁵For the ascent of Luhith with weeping, Go up doth weeping, For in the descent of Horonaim Adversaries a cry of desolation have heard.

⁶भाग जाऊ! भाग आफ्नो प्राण बचाऊ, मरूभूमिको जंगलमा हुने पोथ्रा झैं बन।

⁶Flee ye, deliver yourselves, Ye are as a naked thing in a wilderness.

⁷तिमीहरूले आफ्नो काम र धनमा भरोसा गर्यौ। यसकारण तिमीहरू कैदमा पर्यौ। उसका अधिकारीहरू र पूजाहारीहरूसितै कमोशलाई देश निष्कासन गरियो।

⁷For, because of thy trusting in thy works, And in thy treasures, even thou art captured, And gone out hath Chemosh in a removal, His priests and his heads together.

⁸प्रत्येक शहर ध्वंस पारिनेछ अनि कुनै एउटा शहर पनि बाँकी राखिनेछैन। परमप्रभुले भन्नु भएको बेंसी नष्ट हुनेछ। अनि समतल देश ध्वंस पारिनेछ।

⁸And come in doth a spoiler unto every city, And no city doth escape, And perished hath the valley, And destroyed been the plain, as Jehovah said.

⁹मोआबमा खेत बारि भरि नून छरिदेऊ किनभने यो निश्चय नष्ट हुनेछ अनि बासिन्दा कोही नभएर मोआब शून्य मरूभूमि हुनेछ।

⁹Give wings to Moab, for she utterly goeth out, And her cities are for a desolation, Without an inhabitant in them.

¹⁰श्रापित होस् त्यो मानिस जसले परमप्रभुको काम गर्न विलम्ब गरिरहेछ। धिक्कार छ त्यस मानिसलाई जसले ती मानिसहरू मार्न आफ्नो तरवार चलाँउदैन।

¹⁰Cursed [is] he who is doing the work of Jehovah slothfully, And cursed [is] he Who is withholding his sword from blood.

¹¹मोआबले अनिष्ट कहिल्यै देखेको छैन। मोआब ढुग्रोमा रहेको र एउटा भाँडादेखि अर्को भाँडामा नसारिएको दाखरस जस्तै छ। उ कैदी भएर कहिले पनि बसेको छैन यसकारण उ पहिल्यै जस्तै ताजा नै छ अनि उसको स्वादमा बद्ली आएको छैन।”

¹¹Secure is Moab from his youth, And at rest [is] he for his preserved things, And he hath not been emptied out from vessel unto vessel, And into captivity he hath not gone, Therefore hath his taste remained in him, And his fragrance hath not been changed.

¹²तब परमप्रभु भन्नुहुन्छ, “हेर, समय आइरहेछ जब म उसलाई तिम्रो भाँडाबाट खन्याउन अनि खाली भाँडाहरू टुक्रा-टुक्रामा परिणत गराउन मानिसहरू पठाउनेछु।”

¹²Therefore, lo, days are coming, An affirmation of Jehovah, And I have sent to him wanderers, And they have caused him to wander, And his vessels they empty out, And his bottles they dash in pieces.

¹³तब, मोआबका मानिसहरू कमोशले गर्दा लज्जित हुनेछन्। जसरी इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले झूटा देवता बेतेललाई विश्वास गरेका थिए। त्यही झूटा देवताले मद्दत नगर्दा तिनीहरू लज्जित भए।

¹³And ashamed hath been Moab because of Chemosh, As the house of Israel have been ashamed Because of Beth-El their confidence.

¹⁴“तिमीहरू कसरी भन्न सक्छौ, ‘हामी बलिया सिपाहीहरू हौं अथवा हामी वीर योद्धाहरू हौं।’

¹⁴How do ye say, We [are] mighty, And men of strength for battle?

¹⁵शत्रुहरूले मोआबमाथि आक्रमण गर्नेछन् र शहरभित्र पसेर तिनीहरूलाई ध्वंस पार्नेछन्। उसका खास जवान मानिसहरू हत्या गरेर मारिनेछन्।” यो सन्देश महाराजाको हो, उहाँको नाउँ सेनाहरूका परमप्रभु हो।

¹⁵Spoiled is Moab, and her cities hath one gone up, And the choice of its young men Have gone down to slaughter, An affirmation of the King, Jehovah of Hosts [is] His name.

¹⁶“मोआबको अन्त नजिकै छ। मोआबलाई चाँडै ध्वंस पारिनेछ।

¹⁶Near is the calamity of Moab to come, And his affliction hath hasted exceedingly.

¹⁷मोआबका वरिपरि बस्ने मानिसहरू तिमीहरू सबैले त्यो देशको लागि विलाप गर्नुपर्नेछ। तिमीहरू जान्दछौ मोआब कति प्रसिद्ध छ। यसर्थ त्यसको लागि रूनु ‘मोआबको शक्तिशाली अनि महिमामय राजदण्ड पूर्णरूपले टुक्रियो।’

¹⁷Bemoan for him, all ye round about him, And all knowing his name, say ye: How hath it been broken, the staff of strength, The rod of beauty.

¹⁸तिमीहरू दीबोनमा बसिरहेका छौ। आफ्नो सम्मानपूर्ण ठाउँबाट झरेर आऊ सुखा जमीनमा बस किनभने विनाश आइरहेछ अनि उसले तिमीहरूको दरिलो शहरहरू भत्काइदिनेछ।

¹⁸Come down from honour, sit in thirst, O inhabitant, daughter of Dibon, For a spoiler of Moab hath come up to thee, He hath destroyed thy fenced places.

¹⁹हे अरोएरमा बस्ने मानिसहरू हो। बाटोको सहायतामा उभ र। हेर पुरूष मानिसहरू भागिरहेका हेर स्त्री मानिसहरू भागिरहे तिनीहरूलाई के भयो सोध।

¹⁹On the way stand, and watch, O inhabitant of Aroer, Ask the fugitive and escaped, Say, What hath happened?

²⁰मोआब धराशायी भएको छ लाजले पूर्ण भएको छ। विलौना गर अनि रोऊ। अर्नोन नदीमा गएर घोषणा गर कि मोआब ध्वंस भयो।

²⁰Put to shame hath been Moab, For it hath been broken down, Howl and cry, declare ye in Arnon, For spoiled is Moab,

²¹समतल देशमाथि न्याय हुने समय आएको छ। होलोन, यहसा र मेपात शहरहरूमा न्याय गरिने समय आएकोछ।

²¹And judgment hath come in unto the land of the plain — unto Holon, And unto Jahazah, and on Mephaath,

²²दीबोन, नबो बेत-दिबलातैम शहरहरूमा न्याय गरिने समय आएकोछ।

²²And on Dibon, and on Nebo, And on Beth-Diblathaim, and on Kirathaim,

²³किर्यातैम, बेतगामूल, बेत-मोन शहरहरूमा न्याय गरिने समय आएकोछ।

²³And on Beth-Gamul, and on Beth-Meon,

²⁴करियोत र बोज्रा र छेउ, टाढाका अनि नजिकका मोआब सबै शहरहरूमा न्याय गरिने समय आएकोछ।

²⁴And on Kerioth, and on Bozrah, And on all cities of the land of Moab, The far off and the near.

²⁵मोआबको सिंग काटियो अनि मोआबको पाखुरा भाँचिएको छ।” परमप्रभुले यो कुरा भन्नुभयो।

²⁵Cut down hath been the horn of Moab, And his arm hath been broken, An affirmation of Jehovah.

²⁶“मोआबले सम्झाएको थियो कि ऊ परमप्रभु भन्दा महान हो। अत मोआबलाई पागल हुञ्जेलसम्म सजाय देऊ। मोआब लडेर आफ्नै वान्तामा लटपटिने छ। मोआब मानिसहरूको हाँसोको पात्र हुनेछ।

²⁶Declare ye him drunk, For against Jehovah he made himself great And Moab hath stricken in his vomit, And he hath been for a derision — even he.

²⁷मोआब तिमीले इस्राएलको हाँसो उढायौ इस्राएललाई एउटा चोरका समूहले पकडे। प्रत्येक पल्ट तिमीहरूले इस्राएलको बारेमा बोल्दा आफ्नो टाउको हल्लायौ अनि इस्राएलभन्दा असल छु भनी बहाना गर्यौ।

²⁷And was not Israel the derision to thee? Among thieves was he found? For since thy words concerning him, Thou dost bemoan thyself.

²⁸मोआबका मानिसहरू हो आफ्नो शहरहरू छोड। जाऊ ढुङ्गाहरूमा बस, ढुकुर जस्तो हौ जसले ओढारको मुखमा आफ्नो गुँड बनाउँछ।”

²⁸Forsake cities, and dwell in a rock, Ye inhabitants of Moab, And be as a dove making a nest in the passages of a pit`s mouth.

²⁹“हामीले मोआबको गर्व सुनेकाछौं, उ अत्यन्तै शेखीवाल र रीसाह थियो र उसले आफै ठूलो हुँ भन्ने ठान्थ्यो।”

²⁹We have heard of the arrogance of Moab, Exceeding proud! His haughtiness, and his arrogance, And his pride, and the height of his heart,

³⁰परमप्रभु भन्नुहुन्छ, “मोआब कति रीसाह छ म जान्दछु, उसले आफ्नै प्रशंसाको गीत गाउँछ। तर उ झूटो अंहकार गर्छ ऊ आफूले भनेको कुराहरू गर्न सक्तैन।

³⁰I — I have known, an affirmation of Jehovah, His wrath, and [it is] not right, His devices — not right they have done.

³¹यसर्थ म मोआबका मानिसहरूको लागि विलाप गर्दछु, म सम्पूर्म मोआबको लागि रून्छु। म कीरहेरेसका मानिसहरूका लागि शोक गर्छु।

³¹Therefore for Moab I howl, even for Moab — all of it, I cry for men of Kir-Heres, it doth mourn,

³²म याजेरको मानिसहरूसित याजेरकै लागि शोक गर्छु। हे सिब्नाका दाखका बोट, बिगतमा तिम्रा दाखका बोटहरू चारैतिर फैलिदै समुद्र पारी याजेर शहरसम्म फैलिएको थियो। तर विनाशले तिनीहरूका फल र दाखहरू लग्यो।

³²With the weeping of Jazer, I weep for thee, O vine of Sibmah, Thy branches have passed over a sea, Unto the sea of Jazer they have come, On thy summer fruits, and on thy harvest, A spoiler hath fallen.

³³मोआबको विस्तृत दाखबारीहरूबाट खुशी र आनन्द लगिएकोछ। मैले अङ्गुर निचोर्दा रस निक्लन बन्द गरिदिएँ। यसर्थ आनन्दको स्वरले तिनीहरूले अङ्गुर निचोर्दैनन्। स्वर छ तर आनन्दको स्वर होइन।

³³And removed hath been joy and gladness From the fruitful field, Even from the land of Moab, And wine from wine-presses I have caused to cease, Shouting doth not proceed, The shouting [is] no shouting!

³⁴मानिसहरू हेशबोनदेखि एलाले अनि जहाजसम्म कराउँदैछन्। मानिसहरू विलाप गरी रहेका छन्। तिनीहरूको विलाप सोअर, होरोनैम, एग्लथ-शेलीशिया शहरहरूबाट सुनिन्छ। निम्रीमको पानी सुक्यो।

³⁴Because of the cry of Heshbon unto Elealeh, Unto Jahaz they have given their voice, From Zoar unto Horonaim, A heifer of the third [year], For even waters of Nimrim become desolations.

³⁵म मोआबलाई उच्च स्थानहरूमा तिनीहरूको देवताहरूलाई सुगन्धित धूप बाल्न र बलि चढाउनु रोक्छु।” परमप्रभुले यो कुरा भन्नुभयो।

³⁵And I have caused to cease to Moab, An affirmation of Jehovah, Him who is offering in a high place, And him who is making perfume to his god.

³⁶“म मोआब र किरहरेसतका मानिसहरूको लागि उदास छु। मेरो हृदय बासुरीको शोक धुन जस्तै रून्छ किनभने तिनीहरूको जोगाड गरेको धन-सम्पति सबै नष्ट भयो।

³⁶Therefore my heart for Moab as pipes doth sound, And my heart for men of Kir-Heres As pipes doth sound, Therefore the abundance he made did perish.

³⁷प्रत्येक मानिसको केश खौरेको छ। प्रत्येकले दाह्री काटेको छ। प्रत्येकको हातहरू काटिएको छ। प्रत्येकले आफ्ना कम्मरमा उदासीनताको धोती बेरेको छ।

³⁷For every head [is] bald, and every beard diminished, On all hands cuttings, and on the loins — sackcloth.

³⁸घरका धुरीहरूमा तथा मोआब गल्लीहरूमा मरेर गएकाहरूको लागि मानिसहरू जता-ततै विलाप गरिरहेका छन्। समस्त भूमि नै उदासीनताले छाएको छ किनभने मोआबलाई मैले कसैलाई नचाहिने माटोको भाँडालाई झैं चकानाचूर पारेको छु।” परमप्रभुले यो कुरा भन्नुभयो।

³⁸On all roofs of Moab, and in her broad-places, All of it — [is] lamentation, For I have broken Moab as a vessel in which there is no pleasure, An affirmation of Jehovah.

³⁹“मोआब तितर-बितर भएका छन्। मानिसहरू विलाप गरिरहेका छन्। मोआब लाजले वरिपरि घुम्छ। मानिसहरूले मोआबको खिल्ली उडाइरहे छन् ऊ आफ्नो वरिपरि प्रत्येकका निम्ति डरको पात्र बनेको छ।”

³⁹How hath it been broken down! they have howled, How hath Moab turned the neck ashamed, And Moab hath been for a derision. And for a terror to all round about her.

⁴⁰परमप्रभु भन्नुहुन्छ, “हेर! एउटा चील आकाशबाट बेगहानेर आइररहेको छ। यसले आफ्नो पखेटाहरू मोआब भरि फैलाई रहेछ।

⁴⁰For thus said Jehovah: Lo, as an eagle he doth flee, And hath spread his wings unto Moab.

⁴¹शहरहरू कब्जा गरिनेछ। बलिया किल्लाहरू घेरामा पर्नेछन्। त्यस समयमा मोआबका शक्तिशाली सिपाहीहरूको मुटु प्रसव वेदनामा परेकी स्त्रीको जस्तो हुनेछ।

⁴¹Captured have been the cities, And the strongholds are caught, And the heart of the mighty of Moab Hath been in that day as the heart of a distressed woman.

⁴²मोआब देश ध्वंस गराइनेछ। किनभने उसले सम्झन्थ्यो कि ऊ परमप्रभु भन्दा महान छ।”

⁴²And Moab hath been destroyed from [being] a people, For against Jehovah he exerted himself.

⁴³परमप्रभुले यी कुराहरू भन्नु हुन्छ, “मोआबका मानिसहरू हो! तिमीहरूको लागि डर, गहिरो खाडलहरू र पासोहरू छन्।

⁴³Fear, and a snare, and a gin, [are] for thee, O inhabitant of Moab — an affirmation of Jehovah,

⁴⁴मानिसहरू डराउने छन् र भाग्ने छन्, तर तिनीहरू गहिरो खाडलहरूमा पर्नेछन्। यदि तिनीहरू कसैले त्यहाँबाट उक्लिए भने पासोहरूमा फँस्नेछन् किनभने म मोआबमाथि दण्डको वर्ष ल्याउनेछु।” परमप्रभुले यी कुराहरू भन्नुभयो।

⁴⁴Whoso is fleeing because of the fear falleth into the snare, And whoso is coming up from the snare is captured by the gin, For I bring in unto her — unto Moab — The year of their inspection, An affirmation of Jehovah.

⁴⁵“हेशबोनको छाँयामा शरणार्थीहरू नरहेको देखिन्छ। तिनीहरू रहेनन् कारण हेशबोनबाट आगो र सिहोनबाट ज्वाला गएको छ। यसले मोआबको निधार र ती अहिले आनन्द मनाउँदै गर्नेहरूको शिरलाई काटेर नास पारिदिनेछ।

⁴⁵In the shadow of Heshbon stood powerless have fugitives, For fire hath gone forth from Heshbon, And a flame from within Sihon, And it consumeth the corner of Moab, And the crown of the sons of Shaon.

⁴⁶ए मोआब! तिमीलाई शोक! कमोशका मानिसहरू नष्ट भएको छन्। तिम्रा छोरा-छोरीहरूलाई कैदी बनाएर लगिन्छ।

⁴⁶Wo to thee, O Moab, Perished hath the people of Chemosh, For thy sons were taken with the captives, And thy daughters with the captivity.

⁴⁷“तर समय आउनेछ, म मोआबबाट लागिएको फर्काउनेछु।” यो सन्देश परमप्रभुबाट थियो। यसकारण मोआबमाथि लादिएको सजाय पूर्ण भयो।

⁴⁷And I have turned back [to] the captivity of Moab, In the latter end of the days, An affirmation of Jehovah! Hitherto [is] the judgment of Moab.
