1कुटिलता पूर्ण प्रयोग गर्ने मूर्ख भन्दा निष्कलंक गरीब असल हो।
1Better [is] the poor walking in his integrity, Than the perverse [in] his lips, who [is] a fool.
2बिनाज्ञान उत्साहीत हुनु राम्रो होइन। यदि तिमी धेरै हतार गर्छौ भने विराउने छौ।
2Also, without knowledge the soul [is] not good, And the hasty in feet is sinning.
3मानिसले आफ्नै भूलले आफ्नो जीवन नष्ट पार्छ, तर त्यसको दोष परमप्रभुलाई लगाउँछ।
3The folly of man perverteth his way, And against Jehovah is his heart wroth.
4धनले धेरै मित्रहरू बनाउँछ, तर गरीबलाई आफ्नै भित्रले पनि त्यागि दिन्छ।
4Wealth addeth many friends, And the poor from his neighbour is separated.
5झूटो गवाहीले सजाय पाउँछ नै अनि जुन मानिस झूटो बोलिरहन्छ त्यो बाँच्नु सक्तैन।
5A false witness is not acquitted, Whoso breatheth out lies is not delivered.
6धेरै मानिसहरूले शासकको निगाह खोजछन् अनि प्रत्येकले उदार मानिसको साथी बन्न चाहन्छ। अनि असल मानिसको मित्र हुन चाहन्छ।
6Many entreat the face of the noble, And all have made friendship to a man of gifts.
7गरीब मानिस सित आफन्तहरू पनि टक्टकिन्छन्। साथी भाइहरू पनि त्यस गरीब मानिस देखि पर-पर बस्न चाहन्छन्। उसले जति नै बिन्ति गरोस् कसैले सहायता गर्दैन।
7All the brethren of the poor have hated him, Surely also his friends have been far from him, He is pursuing words — they are not!
8बुद्धि प्राप्त गर्नेले आफ्नै जीवनलाई माया गर्छ। जसले आफ्नो समझ शक्ति बढाउँछ ऊ सधैं उन्नति गरिरहन्छ।
8Whoso is getting heart is loving his soul, He is keeping understanding to find good.
9एकजना झूटो गवाही दिनेलाई दण्ड दिइने छ। जसले झूटो बोल्छ त्यो ध्वंश हुनेछ।
9A false witness is not acquitted, And whoso breatheth out lies perisheth.
10मूर्ख धनी हुनुहुँदैन यस्तै प्रकार एकजना नोकरले राजकुमारमाथि शासन गर्नु हुँदैन।
10Luxury is not comely for a fool, Much less for a servant to rule among princes.
11ज्ञानी मानिस रिसाउनमा ढिलो हुन्छ अनि गल्ती गर्नेलाई क्षमा दिनु उसको यशको लागि राम्रो हुन्छ।
11The wisdom of a man hath deferred his anger, And his glory [is] to pass over transgression.
12राजाको क्रोध सिंहको गर्जन जस्तो हो, अनि उसको निगाह घाँसमा परेको शीतको थोपा जस्तो हो।
12The wrath of a king [is] a growl as of a young lion, And as dew on the herb his good-will.
13मूर्ख छोरो बाबुको लागि विनाशको बाढी हो, अनि झगडालु पत्नी नित्त्य पानी चुहुने घर जस्तै हो।
13A calamity to his father [is] a foolish son, And the contentions of a wife [are] a continual dropping.
14धन सम्पत्ति तथा घर आफ्नो आमा-बाबुबाट पाइन्छ, तर विवेकशील पत्नी चाहिँ परमप्रभुबाट आउँछे।
14House and wealth [are] the inheritance of fathers, And from Jehovah [is] an understanding wife.
15अल्छीपनले गहिरो निद्रा लगाँउछ, अनि अल्छी मानिस भोक भोकै रहन्छ।
15Sloth causeth deep sleep to fall, And an indolent soul doth hunger.
16जसले कानून मानेर चल्छ उसको जीवन सुरक्षित हुन्छ, तर जसले आफूले के गर्यो त्यसको विषयमा वास्ता गर्दैन भने त्यो मर्नेछ।
16Whoso is keeping the command is keeping his soul, Whoso is despising His ways dieth.
17गरीब माथि दया गर्नु परमप्रभुलाई सापट दिनु हो। अनि परमप्रभुले उसलाई र्फिता तिर्नु हुनेछ।
17Whoso is lending [to] Jehovah is favouring the poor, And his deed He repayeth to him.
18सुध्रिने आशा अझै छ भने तिम्रो छोरालाई शिक्षा देऊ नत्र भने तिमीले उसको मृत्युको लागि सहयोग गरेका हुनेछौ।
18Chastise thy son, for there is hope, And to put him to death lift not up thy soul.
19यदि कसैलाई सजिलै रीस उठ्छ भने, उसले त्यसको मूल्य चुकाउनु पर्छ। यदि तिमी उसलाई बचाउँछौ भने उसले त्यो गल्ती दोहर्याइरहन्छ।
19A man of great wrath is bearing punishment, For, if thou dost deliver, yet again thou dost add.
20उपदेश सुन अनि अनुशासीत भई बस। यस प्रकार अन्त्यमा तिमी ज्ञानी हुनेछौ।
20Hear counsel and receive instruction, So that thou art wise in thy latter end.
21मानिसले हृदयमा अनेकौं कुराहरू गर्न भनी सोच्छ, त्यही हुन्छ जो परमेश्वरले चाहनु हुन्छ।
21Many [are] the purposes in a man`s heart, And the counsel of Jehovah it standeth.
22विश्वासले मानिसलाई आनन्दायक बनाउँछ, यसकारण झूट हुनु भन्दा गरीब हुनु नै असल हो।
22The desirableness of a man [is] his kindness, And better [is] the poor than a liar.
23परमप्रभु प्रतिको डरले जीवन दिन्छ र व्याक्तिका आवश्यकताहरू पूरा हुन्छन अनि दुःखले उसलाई छुन सक्दैन।
23The fear of Jehovah [is] to life, And satisfied he remaineth — he is not charged with evil.
24एकजना अल्छेले उसको हात भाडा भित्र हाल्छ, तर उसले त्यसलाई उठाएर आफ्नो मुखमा पुर्याउँदैन्।
24The slothful hath hidden his hand in a dish, Even unto his mouth he bringeth it not back.
25मूर्खलाई सजाय देऊ ताकि अनुभव नभएकाहरू विवेकशील होउन्।
25A scorner smite, and the simple acts prudently, And give reproof to the intelligent, He understandeth knowledge.
26जसले आफ्नो बाबुलाई नराम्रो व्यवहार गर्छ, अनि आफ्नो आमालाई टाढा खेद्छ ऊ लाजमर्दो कलंकित छोरा हो।
26Whoso is spoiling a father causeth a mother to flee, A son causing shame, and bringing confusion.
27हे मेरो छोरो, यदि तिमीले अनुशासनलाई ध्यान दिन छाड्यौ भने तिमी ज्ञानी वचनहरूबाट पनि टाढिन्छौ।
27Cease, my son, to hear instruction — To err from sayings of knowledge.
28झूटो गवाहीले न्यायको खिल्ली उडाउँछ। दुष्ट मानिसहरू द्वारा भनेका कुराहरूले अझ दुष्टता मात्र बढाउँछ।
28A worthless witness scorneth judgment, And the mouth of the wicked swalloweth iniquity.
29जसले आफैंलाई अरू भन्दा असल सम्झन्छ उसले सजाय भोग्नु पर्छ। त्यस्तो मूर्खहरूले कुटाई भेट्छन्।
29Judgments have been prepared for scorners, And stripes for the back of fools!
