1जब एज्राले स्वयं रूँदै परमेश्वरको मन्दिर अघि बसेर प्रार्थना गरे। र दोष स्वीकार गरे त्यसबेला इस्राएली पुरूष, स्त्री र केटा-केटीहरूको ठूलो भिड तिनीकहाँ भेला भए। किनभने मानिसहरू जोडले रोइरहेका थिए।
1And while Ezra prayed, and made confession, weeping and falling down before the house of God, there were gathered to him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children; for the people wept very much.
2शकन्याह, यहीएलको छोरा, एलामका कुलहरू मध्ये एक-ले एज्रालाई भने, “हामी हाम्रा परमेश्वरप्रति विश्वासहीन भएको छौ। त्यस भूमिका विदेशी स्त्रीहरूसित विवाह गरेर।
2And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, of the sons of Elam, answered and said to Ezra, We have acted unfaithfully toward our God, and have taken foreign wives of the peoples of the land; yet now there is hope for Israel concerning this thing.
3अब, यस विषयमा इस्राएलका निम्ति अझ आशा छ। यसर्थ अब यी समस्त पत्नीहरू अनि तिनीहरूका छोरा-छोरीहरूलाई मेरा मालिक एज्रा को अनि हाम्रा परमेश्वरको आदेश र आदर गर्नेहरूको सल्लाह अनुसार पठाउनका निम्ति व्यवस्था अनुसार हाम्रा परमेश्वर सित हामी एक करार गरौ।
3And now let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of [my] lord, and of those that tremble at the commandments of our God; and let it be done according to the law.
4उठ, किनभने यो तिम्रो जिम्मेवारिको कुरा हो अनि हामी तिम्रोसाथ छौ। यसो गर्ने साहस गर।”
4Arise, for this matter is incumbent on thee, and we will be with thee: be of good courage, and do [it].
5यसर्थ एज्रा उठे र उनले पूजाहारीहरू लेवीहरू अनि इस्राएलका समस्त मानिसहरूका अगुवाहरूलाई, जे गर्ने सल्लाह भएको छ। त्यही गर्ने शपथ दिलाए। तिनीहरूले त्यसै गर्ने शपथ गरे।
5Then Ezra arose, and made the chiefs of the priests, of the Levites, and of all Israel, to swear that they would do according to this word. And they swore.
6त्यसपछि एज्रा परमेश्वरको मन्दिर सामुनेबाट पर गए अनि उनी एल्यासीबका छोरा योहानानको कोठामा गए अनि उनले त्यहीं रात बिताए। उनले त्यहाँ रोटी खाएनन्, अनि पानी पनि पिएनन्, किनभने कैदी बाट फर्केर आउनेहरूको अविश्वासीपनले गर्दा उनी अझ आफशोस गर्दै थिए।
6And Ezra arose from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Jehohanan the son of Eliashib; and when he came thither, he ate no bread and drank no water; for he mourned because of the unfaithfulness of them that had been carried away.
7तिनीहरूले कैदीबाट फर्केर आउने सबैलाई यरूशलेममा भेला हुनु भनि यहूदा अनि यरूशलेम भरि घोषणा गरे।
7And they made proclamation in Judah and Jerusalem to all the children of the captivity, that they should gather themselves together unto Jerusalem;
8तीन दिन भित्रमा जो आउदैन, अधिकारी अनि धर्मगुरूको निर्णय अनुसार उसले आफ्नो सम्पूर्ण सम्पत्ति गुमाउन सक्ने छन्। अनि उसलाई फर्केर देशनिकालाहरूको समूहबाट अलग गरिनेछ।
8and that whosoever would not come within three days, according to the counsel of the princes and the elders, all his substance should be confiscated, and himself separated from the congregation of those that had been carried away.
9यसर्थ तीन दिन भित्र मा यहूदा अनि बिन्यामीनका समस्त मानिसहरू यरूशलेममा भेला भए। यो नवौ महिनाको बिसौ दिन थियो। समस्त मानिसहरू परमेश्वरको मन्दिरको खुला स्थानमा बसेका थिए। अनि त्यस वृष्टिको कारणले तिनीहरू डरले काम्दै थिए।
9Then were all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered together at Jerusalem within three days. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth of the month; and all the people sat in the open space of the house of God, trembling because of the matter, and because of the pouring rain.
10तब पूजाहारी एज्रा उठे अनि तिनीहरूलाई भने, “विदेशी स्त्रीहरू विवाह गरेर तिमीहरू अविश्वसनीय भएका छौ यसरी इस्राएलमा अपराध बढाएका छौ।
10And Ezra the priest stood up and said to them, Ye have acted unfaithfully, and have taken foreign wives, to increase the trespass of Israel.
11यसर्थ अब हाम्रा पिता-पुर्खाका परमेश्वर प्रति अपराध स्वीकार गर अनि उहाँको इच्छा अनुसार कार्य गर। तिमीहरूले स्वयंलाई त्यस भूमिका मानिसहरूबाट अनि तिमीहरूका विदेशी पत्नीहरूबाट अलग गर।”
11And now make confession to Jehovah the God of your fathers, and do his pleasure, and separate yourselves from the peoples of the land, and from the foreign wives.
12सम्पुर्ण सभाले उच्च आवाजमा उत्तर दिए, “हजूर, तपाईंले भन्नु भए अनुसार हामीले गर्नु पर्छ।
12And the whole congregation answered and said with a loud voice, Yes, it is for us to do according to thy words.
13तर यहाँ धेरै मानिसहरू छन् अनि यो वर्षा ऋतु हो। यसर्थ हामी बाहिर उभिन सत्तैनौं। यो काम एक वा दुइ दिनको होइन, किन हामीले यस कुरामा महानरूपले पाप गरेका छौ।
13But the people are many, and it is a time of pouring rain, and it is not possible to stand without: neither is this a work for one day or two; for we are many that have transgressed in this thing.
14हाम्रा अधिकारीहरू, प्रमुखहरूले सम्पूर्ण सभाको प्रतिनिधित्व गरून् अनि हाम्रा शहरका सबैजना जसले विदेशी स्त्रीहरू विवाह गरेका छन्। तिनीहरूसित प्रत्येक शहरका धर्मगुरू अनि त्यहाँका न्यायकर्त्ताहरू नियोजित समयमा आउन्, जब सम्म यस विषयमा हाम्रा परमेश्वरको जल्दो क्रोध हामीबाट टाढा हटदैन।”
14Let now our princes, while this matter is going on, stand for all the congregation, and let all those that have taken foreign wives in our cities come at the appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce anger of our God be turned from us.
15केवल असाहेलका छोरा जोनाथन अनि, टिकभाहका छोरा याजयाहले विरोध गरे। अनि मशुल्लाम, शब्बतै लेवीले तिनीहरूलाई समर्थन गरेनन्।
15Only Jonathan the son of Asahel and Jahzeiah the son of Tikvah stood up against this; and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite helped them.
16फर्केका कैदीहरूले यसो गरे। पूजाहारी एज्राले कुलका प्रमुखहरूलाई आफ्ना कुलका विभागको प्रतिनिधित्व गर्नका निम्ति थरि थरिका मानिसहरू चुने अनि ती सबैलाई नाउँद्वारा पदस्थ गरेका थिए। दशौ महिनाको को पहिलो दिन तिनीहरू विषय अध्ययन गर्न बसे।
16And the children of the captivity did so. And Ezra the priest [and] certain of the chief fathers were separated according to their fathers' houses, and all of them [expressed] by name; and they sat down on the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.
17तिनीहरूले ती सबै मानिसहरू, जसले विदेशी स्त्रीहरू विवाह गरेका थिए। व्यापार अर्को वर्षको पहिलो महिनाको पहिलो दिन सम्ममा पुरा गरे।
17And they ended with all the men that had taken foreign wives by the first day of the first month.
18विदेशी स्त्रीहरू विवाह गर्ने पूजाहारीका सन्तान मध्ये यिनीहरू भेट्टीएः योशादाकका छोरा येशुअको सन्तान अनि भाईकाहरूकाः मासेयाह, एलाजार, यारीब अनि गदल्याह।
18And among the sons of the priests there were found that had taken foreign wives, of the sons of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren: Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah.
19तिनीहरू सबैले आफ्ना पत्नीहरूलाई तलाक दिने वचन दिए अनि तिनीहरू प्रत्यकले आफ्ना बथानबाट एउटा भेडा आफ्ना दोषका निम्ति दोष बलि अर्पण गरे।
19And they gave their hand to send away their wives; and they offered a ram of the flock, as trespass-offering for their guilt.
20इम्मेरका कुलहरूबाटः हनानी अनि जबदियाह।
20And of the children of Immer: Hanani, and Zebadiah.
21हारीमका कुलहरूबाटः मासेयाह, एलियाह, शमायाह, यहीएल, र उज्जियाह।
21And of the children of Harim: Maaseiah, and Elijah, and Shemaiah, and Jehiel, and Uzziah.
22पशहूरका कुलहरूबाटः एल्योएनै, मासेयाह, इश्माएल, नतनेल, योजाबाद अनि एलासा।
22And of the children of Pashhur: Elioenai, Maaseiah, Ishmael, Nethaneel, Jozabad, and Elasah.
23लेवीहरू मध्येः योजाबाद, शिमी, केलायाह, पतहियाह, यहूदा अनि एलाजार।
23And of the Levites: Jozabad, and Shimei, and Kelaiah (that is, Kelita), Pethahiah, Judah, and Eliezer.
24गवैयाहरू मध्येः एल्याशीब। द्वारपालहरू मध्येः शल्लूम, तेलेम अनि ऊरी।
24And of the singers: Eliashib. And of the doorkeepers: Shallum, and Telem, and Uri.
25अनि रहेका, अन्य इस्राएली मध्येः परोशका कुलहरूकाः सम्याह, यिज्याह, मल्किया, मिय्यामीन, एलाजार, मल्कियाह, बनायाह।
25And of Israel; of the children of Parosh: Ramiah, and Jizzijah, and Malchijah, and Mijamin, and Eleazar, and Malchijah, and Benaiah.
26एलामका कुलहरूबाटः मत्तन्याह, जकर्याह, यहीएल, अब्दी, यरेमोत अनि एलिया।
26And of the children of Elam: Mattaniah, Zechariah, and Jehiel, and Abdi, and Jeremoth, and Elijah.
27जत्तूका कुलहरूबाटः एल्योएनै, एल्याशीव, अत्तन्याह, यरेमोत, जरबाद अनि अजीजा।
27And of the children of Zattu: Elioenai, Eliashib, Mattaniah, and Jeremoth, and Zabad, and Aziza.
28बेबैका कुलहरूकाः यो मानिसहरू येहोहानान, हनन्याह, जब्बै अनि अत्लै।
28And of the children of Bebai: Jehohanan, Hananiah, Zabbai, Athlai.
29बानीका कुलहरूबाटः मशूल्लाम, मल्लूक, अदायाह, याशूब, शाल अनि यरेमोत।
29And of the children of Bani: Meshullam, Malluch, and Adaiah, Jashub, and Sheal, and Ramoth.
30पहत-मोआबका कुलहरूबाटः अद्ना, केलाल, बनायाह, मासेयाह, मत्तन्याह, बज्लेल बिन्नूई अनि मनश्शे।
30And of the children of Pahath-Moab: Adna, and Chelal, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattaniah, Bezaleel, and Binnui, and Manasseh.
31हारीमको कुलहरूबाट यी मानिसहरूः एलाजार, यिश्शियाह, मल्कियाह, शमायह, शिमेओन।
31And the children of Harim: Eliezer, Jishijah, Malchijah, Shemaiah, Simeon,
32बिन्यामिन, मल्लूह, अनि शमर्याह।
32Benjamin, Malluch, Shemariah.
33हाशूमका कुलहरूबाट यी मानिसहरू मत्तनै, मत्तता, जाबाद, एलीपेलेत, येरेमै, मनश्शे अनि शिमी।
33Of the children of Hashum: Mattenai, Mattattah, Zabad, Eliphelet, Jeremai, Manasseh, Shimei.
34बानीका कुलहरूबाट यी मानिसहरूः मादे, अम्राम, अनि ऊएल।
34Of the sons of Bani: Maadai, Amram, and Uel,
35बनायाह, बेदयाह कलूही।
35Benaiah, Bediah, Cheluhu,
36बन्याह, मरेमोत, एल्याशीब।
36Vaniah, Meremoth, Eliashib,
37मत्तन्याह, मत्तनै अनि यास्।
37Mattaniah, Mattenai, and Jaasai,
38बिन्नूईको कुलहरूबाट यी मानिसहरूः
38and Bani, and Binnui, Shimei,
39शिमी, शेलेम्याह, नातान अनि अदाया।
39and Shelemiah, and Nathan, and Adaiah,
40मक्नादबै, शाशै, अनि शारै।
40Machnadbai, Shashai, Sharai,
41अज्रेल शेलेम्याह, शमर्याह।
41Azareel, and Shelemiah, Shemariah,
42शल्लूम, अमर्याह अनि योसेफ।
42Shallum, Amariah, Joseph.
43नेबोका कुलहरूबाट यी मानिसहरूः यीएल, मत्तियाह जाबाद, जीबना, इद्दै योएल अनि बनायाह।
43Of the children of Nebo: Jeiel, Mattithiah, Zabad, Zebina, Jaddai, and Joel, Benaiah.
44यी सबै मानिसहरूले विदेशी स्त्रीहरूलाई विवाह गरेका थिए, अनि तिनीहरू कसैको पत्नीहरूसंग छोरा-छोरीहरू थिएनन्।
44All these had taken foreign wives; and there were among them wives who had had children.
