1तब अय्यूबले जवाफ दिएः
1And Job answered and said,
2“म के भन्छु सुन मलाई सान्तवना दिने तिम्रो त्यही तरिका रहोस्।
2Hear attentively my speech, and let this replace your consolations.
3जब म बोल्दछु, धैर्य राख्नु मैले बोलिसके पछि तिमीहरूले मेरो खिल्ली उडाउन सक्छौ।
3Suffer me and I will speak; and after I have spoken, mock on!
4म मानिसहरूका विरूद्ध गुनासो गर्ने होइन, त्यहाँ राम्रो कारण छ किन म धैर्य रहिन।
4As for me, is my complaint to a man? or wherefore should not my spirit be impatient?
5म प्रति हेर अनि शोकले आघात बन तिम्रो हात मेरो मुखमा राख, अनि शोकले आघात भएको आँखाले मलाई हेर।
5Mark me, and be astonished, and lay the hand upon the mouth.
6जब मलाई के भएको थियो भनी सोच्छु मलाई डर लाग्छ अनि मेरो शरीर काम्छ।
6Even when I think [thereon], I am affrighted, and trembling taketh hold of my flesh.
7किन पापीहरू दीर्धायु हुन्छ? किन तिनीहरू बूढा हुन्छन र सफल हुन्छन?
7Wherefore do the wicked live, grow old, yea, become mighty in power?
8दुष्टहरूले आफ्ना छोरा-छोरीहरू आफूसितै हुर्केको देख्छन र आफ्ना नाति-नातिनीहरू हेर्न धेरै बाँच्छन्।
8Their seed is established with them in their sight, and their offspring before their eyes.
9तिनीहरूका घरहरू सुरक्षित छन् अनि तिनीहरू भयभीत छैनन्। परमेश्वरले ती दुष्टहरूलाई दण्ड दिनलाई लट्ठी प्रयोग गर्नुहुन्न।
9Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of +God upon them.
10तिनीहरूका साँढे प्रजनन क्रियामा कहिले चुक्दैनन्। तिनीहरूका गाईहरूले बाछीहरू ब्याउँछन् अनि तुहिदैनन्।
10Their bull gendereth, and faileth not; their cow calveth, and casteth not her calf.
11दुष्टहरूले आफ्नो नानीहरूलाई भेडाका पाठाहरू जस्तै बाहिर खेल्न दिन्छन। तिनीहरूका नानीहरू वरिपरि नाच्छन्।
11They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.
12तिनीहरू वीणा र बासुरीको धुनमा गाउछन र नाच्छन्।
12They shout to the tambour and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the pipe.
13दुष्टहरूले आफ्नो जीवन कालमा सफलता भोग्दछन्। त्यसपछि तिनीहरू मर्छन् अनि कुनै पीडाबिना आफ्नो चिहानतिर जान्छन्।
13They spend their days in prosperity, and in a moment go down to Sheol.
14तर दुष्टहरूले परमेश्वरलाई भन्छन्, ‘हामीलाई एक्लो छाडी दिनुहोस्। हामी तपाईंका मार्ग जान्ने इच्छा गर्दैनौं।”
14And they say unto ùGod, Depart from us, for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways!
15अनि दुष्टहरूले भन्छन्, ‘सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर को हो? हामीलाई उसको सेवा गर्ने खाँचो छैन। उसलाई प्रार्थना गरेर हामीले के पाउँछौ?’
15What is the Almighty that we should serve him? and what are we profited if we pray unto him?
16यो सत्य हो, दुष्टहरूले आफ्ना सफलताहरू आफै बनाउँदैनन्, म तिनीहरूको परार्मशको पछि लाग्दिन।
16Behold, their prosperity is not in their hand. The counsel of the wicked be far from me!
17तर, प्रायः कहिले काँहीं कसरी परमेश्वरले दुष्टहरूको ज्योति निभाइ दिनु हुन्छ? प्रायः कसरी दुःखकष्टहरू दुष्टहरूमाथि आई पर्दछ? कहिले परमेश्वरले तिनीहरूलाई क्रोधित भएर दण्ड दिनुहुनेछ?
17How often is the lamp of the wicked put out, and cometh their calamity upon them? Doth he distribute sorrows [to them] in his anger?
18हावाले पराल उडाए जस्तै, तीब्र बतासले धानको भूसहरू उडाए जस्तै के परमेश्वरले दुष्टहरूलाई उडाई भगाउनु हुनेछ।
18Do they become as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carrieth away?
19तर तिमी भन्छौ, ‘उसको पिताले पापहरू गरेको निम्ति परमेश्वरले नाबालकलाई दण्ड दिनुहुन्छ।’ परमेश्वर स्वयले दुष्टहरूलाई नै दण्ड दिउन् तब तिनीहरूले कि तिनीहरूको आफ्नै पापले गर्दा तिनीहरू दण्डित भएरहेका छन्।
19+God layeth up [the punishment of] his iniquity for his children; he rewardeth him, and he shall know [it]:
20दुष्टहरूले आफ्नै सजाय देखुन्। सर्वशक्तिमान परमप्रभुको क्रोध तिनीहरू आफैले देखुन।
20His eyes shall see his destruction, and he shall drink of the fury of the Almighty.
21जब दुष्ट मानिसको जीवन शेष हुन्छ अनि ऊ मर्दछ, उसले आफ्ना नानीहरू ज-जसलाई छाड्छ, तिनीहरूको पर्वाह नै गर्दैन।
21For what pleasure should he have in his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off?
22कसैले पनि परमेश्वरलाई ज्ञान दिन सक्तैन। परमेश्वरले उच्च वर्गका मानिसहरूलाई पनि न्याय गर्नुहुन्छ।
22Can any teach ùGod knowledge? And he it is that judgeth those that are high.
23एकजना मानिस आफ्नो पूर्ण र सफल जीवन उपभोग पछि मर्छ। ऊ आफ्नो जीवनमा पूर्णतः सुरक्षित अनि आनन्द प्रकारले बाँच्यो।
23One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet;
24उसको शरीरका हड्डीहरू बलिया थिए कारण उसले भोजन प्रशस्त पाएको थियो।
24His sides are full of fat, and the marrow of his bones is moistened;
25तर कतिपय मानिस कष्टप्रद जीवन बिताए पछि मर्छ। उसले कहिल्यै राम्रो जीवन बिताउन पाएन।
25And another dieth in bitterness of soul, and hath not tasted good:
26अन्तमा, ती दुवै मानिसहरू संगसंगै फोहोरमा ढल्नेछन्। ती दुबैमा कीराहरूले पुर्नेछन्।
26Together they lie down in the dust, and the worms cover them.
27तर, म जान्दछु तिमीहरू के सोची रहेछौ अनि म जान्दछु तिमीहरूसित मलाई नोक्सान पुर्याउन योजना छ।
27Lo, I know your thoughts, and the devices ye wrongfully imagine against me.
28तिमीले भन्छौ होलाः ‘मलाई राम्रो मानिसको घर देखाऊ। अहिले, दुष्ट मानसिहरू कहाँ बस्छन देखाऊ।
28For ye say, Where is the house of the noble? and where the tent of the dwellings of the wicked?
29तर तिमीहरूले कहिल्यै यात्रीहलाई सोधेनौ अनि तिमीहरूले उनीहरूको कथाहरू पत्याएनौ।
29Have ye not asked the wayfarers? and do ye not regard their tokens:
30जब परमेश्वर रीसाएर सजाए दिनु हुन्छ दुष्ट मानिसहरू संधै जोगिन्छन्। जब परमेश्वरले रीस देखाउनु हुन्छ तिमीहरूलाई बचाइन्छ।
30That the wicked is reserved for the day of calamity? They are led forth to the day of wrath.
31कसैले पनि दुष्ट मानिसका सम्मुख उसका नराम्रा कार्यहरूको आलोचना गर्दैन। कसैले पनि उसका दुष्ट कार्यका निम्ति दण्ड दिंदैन।
31Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall repay him what he hath done?
32जब दुष्ट मानिसलाई चिहानमा लगन्छि उसको चिहानको छेउमा चौकिदार उभिन्छ।
32Yet is he carried to the graves, and watch is kept over the tomb.
33यसैले त्यस ठाउँको माटो त्यो दुष्ट मानिसको लागि असल हुनेछ। अनि हजारौ मानिसहरू उसको मलामी भएर चिहानमा भेला हुन्छन।
33The clods of the valley are sweet unto him; and every man followeth suit after him, as there were innumerable before him.
34त्यसैकारण तिमीले आफ्ना खोक्रो शब्दहरूले मलाई सान्तवना दिन सक्तैनौ, तिम्रो जवाफहरूले एकदमै सहयोग गर्दैन।”
34How then comfort ye me in vain? Your answers remain perfidious.
