1हे परमप्रभु! सम्झनु होस्, कसरी, दाऊद पीडित भए।
1{A Song of degrees.} Jehovah, remember for David all his affliction;
2दाऊदले परमप्रभुसँग एक प्रतिज्ञा गरेका थिए। दाऊदले याकूबका सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभुसँग शपथ लिएका थिए।
2How he swore unto Jehovah, vowed unto the Mighty One of Jacob:
3दाऊदले भने, “म आफ्नो घरभित्र जाने छैन, म आफ्नो ओछ्यानमा ढल्कने छैन,
3I will not come into the tent of my house, I will not go up to the couch of my bed;
4म सुत्ने छैन म आफ्नो आँखालाई विश्राम दिने छैन,
4I will not give sleep to mine eyes, slumber to mine eyelids,
5जबसम्म याकूबको सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभुको घर बनाउन जमीन पाउँदिन, म ती कुराहरू गर्ने नै छैन!”
5Until I find out a place for Jehovah, habitations for the Mighty One of Jacob. ...
6एफ्रातामा हामीले त्यसको विषयमा सुनेका थियौं। हामीले किरियथ-योरीम भन्ने ठाउँमा करार पत्रको बाकस पायौ,
6Behold, we heard of it at Ephratah, we found it in the fields of the wood.
7पवित्र पालतर्फ जाऊ। त्यस टुललाई पूजौं जहाँ परमप्रभुले आराम गर्न आफ्ना खुट्टाहरू राख्नुहुन्छ।
7Let us go into his habitations, let us worship at his footstool.
8परमप्रभु, आफ्नो विश्राम गर्ने ठाउँबाट उठनुहोस्। हे परमप्रभु! तपाईंको शक्तिशाली सन्दूकसित उठनु होस्।
8Arise, Jehovah, into thy rest, thou and the ark of thy strength.
9हे परमप्रभु, तपाईंका पूजाहारीहरू धार्मिकताको पोशाकमा छन्, तपाईंका भक्तजनहरू आनन्दित छन्।
9Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness, and let thy saints shout for joy.
10तपाईंको आफ्ना असल दास दाऊदको निम्ति, आफूले रोजेका राजालाई रद्ध नगर्नुहोस्।
10For thy servant David's sake, turn not away the face of thine anointed.
11परमप्रभुले दाऊदप्रति एक प्रतिज्ञा गर्नु भएथ्यो। परमप्रभुले दाऊदप्रति विश्वासी रहन्छु भनी प्रतिज्ञा गर्नु भएको थियो। परमप्रभुले वचन दिनु भएको थियो कि दाऊद कै परिवारबाट राजाहरू आउने छन्।
11Jehovah hath sworn [in] truth unto David; he will not turn from it: Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne;
12परमप्रभुले भन्नुभयो, “दाऊद, यदि तिम्रा नानीहरूले मेरो करार र मैले सिकाएको नियमहरू पालन गरे भने, तिम्रो परिवारबाट कोही एकजना सँधै राजा हुनेछ।”
12If thy children keep my covenant, and my testimonies which I will teach them, their children also for evermore shall sit upon thy throne.
13परमप्रभुले आफ्नो मन्दिरको लागि सियोन भन्ने ठाउँ रोज्नु भयो। त्यही ठाउँमा नै उहाँले आफ्नो घर बनाउन चाहनु भयो।
13For Jehovah hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his dwelling:
14परमप्रभुले भन्नुभयो, “यो सदा सर्वदाको लागि मेरो ठाउँ हुनेछ। यो ठाउँ मैले रोजें जहाँ म हुने छु।
14This is my rest for ever; here will I dwell, for I have desired it.
15म यस शहरलाई प्रशस्त खाद्य-प्रदार्थले पूर्ण रहोस् भनेर आशिष दिनेछु। गरीब भन्दा गरीब मानिसले पनि खानलाई प्रशस्त पाउने छ।
15I will abundantly bless her provision; I will satisfy her needy ones with bread;
16म उनको पूजाहारीहरूलाई पनि उद्धारको वस्त्र पहिर्याउनेछु। अनि मेरा भक्तजनहरू यहाँ अत्यन्त खुशी हुनेछन्।
16And I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
17म दाऊदलाई बलियो पार्नेछु यस ठाउँमा मैले आफूले रोजेका राजाको निम्ति एक बत्तीको नियुक्त गरेको छु।
17There will I cause the horn of David to bud forth; I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.
18म दाऊदका शत्रुहरूलाई लाज र शर्ममा ढाकि दिनेछु तर दाऊदको राज्यलाई उत्तरोत्तर बढाई दिनेछु।”
18His enemies will I clothe with shame; but upon himself shall his crown flourish.
