¹साँच्चै नै इस्राएल को निम्ति परमेश्वर राम्रो हुनुहुन्छ। परमेश्वर ती मानिसहरूका निम्ति राम्रो हुनुहुन्छ जसको हृदय शुद्ध छ।

¹Surely God The Hebrew word rendered “God” is “Elohim.” is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.

²म प्रायः चुकें अनि पाप गर्न थालें।

²But as for me, my feet were almost gone. My steps had nearly slipped.

³मैले दुष्ट मानिसहरू सफल भएको देखें। म ती अहंकारी मानिसहरू देखि इर्ष्यालु भएँ।

³For I was envious of the arrogant, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

⁴ती मानिसहरू ह्रिष्टपुष्ट छन्। तिनीहरूलाई बाँच्नको लागि संघर्ष गर्नु पर्दैन।

⁴For there are no struggles in their death, but their strength is firm.

⁵ती दुष्ट मानिसहरू हामी जस्तो पीडित हुँदैनन्। अन्य मानिसहरू जस्ता तिनीहरू संकटमा छैनन्।

⁵They are free from burdens of men, neither are they plagued like other men.

⁶यसैले तिनीहरू अंहकारी र घृणित मानिसहरू हुन्। तिनीहरूले लगाएका बहुमूल्य गर-गहनाहरू र आर्कषक पोषाकहरू जस्तै देखिन्छन्।

⁶Therefore pride is like a chain around their neck. Violence covers them like a garment.

⁷यदि ती मानिसहरू केही अरू थोक जस्तो देखिएको भए, तिनीहरू जान्छन् र लिन्छन् तिनीहरूले जे चाहे पनि गर्दछन्।

⁷Their eyes bulge with fat. Their minds pass the limits of conceit.

⁸तिनीहरूले नीच र दुष्ट कुराहरू अरूको बारेमा भन्दछन् तिनीहरू घमण्डी र हठी खालका छन् अनि तिनीहरूले सधैं नै अरू माथि सहजै फाईदा उठाउने उपायहरू गर्दछन्।

⁸They scoff and speak with malice. In arrogance, they threaten oppression.

⁹ती अंहकारीहरू आफूलाई देवता मान्दछन्! तिनीहरूले आफूलाई पृथ्वीको शासक ठान्छन्।

⁹They have set their mouth in the heavens. Their tongue walks through the earth.

¹⁰यसर्थ परमेश्वरका मानिसहरू पनि उनीहरू तिर फर्किए र तिनीहरूले जे भने तिनीहरूको निम्ति त्यही कुराहरू गरे।

¹⁰Therefore their people return to them, and they drink up waters of abundance.

¹¹ती दुष्ट मानिसहरू भन्छन, “हामीहरूले के गरिरहेका छौं, भनेर परमेश्वर जान्दैनन्! सर्वोच्च परमेश्वरले जान्दैनन्।”

¹¹They say, “How does God know? Is there knowledge in the Most High?”

¹²ती घमण्डी मानिसहरू दुष्ट छन्, तर तिनीहरू धनी छन् र झन् धनी भईरहेका छन्।

¹²Behold, these are the wicked. Being always at ease, they increase in riches.

¹³यसैले मैले मात्र हृदय किन शुद्ध पार्नु? किन मैले मेरो हातहरू धोई सफा राख्नु।

¹³Surely in vain I have cleansed my heart, and washed my hands in innocence,

¹⁴हे परमेश्वर, म दिनभरि नै कष्ट भोग्छु अनि प्रत्येक बिहान तपाईंले मलाई दण्ड दिनुहुन्छ।

¹⁴For all day long have I been plagued, and punished every morning.

¹⁵हे परमेश्वर, म यस विषयमा अरूहरूसँग कुरा गर्नु चाहुन्छु। तर म बुझ्छु कि म तपाईंका मानिसहरूलाई विश्वासघात गरिरहेको हुन्छु।

¹⁵If I had said, “I will speak thus”; behold, I would have betrayed the generation of your children.

¹⁶मैले यी कुराहरू जान्नलाई यथासक्य कोशिश गरें। तर ती सबै मेरो लागि एकदम कठिन थिए।

¹⁶When I tried to understand this, it was too painful for me;

¹⁷जबसम्म म परमेश्वरको मन्दिरमा गईन तब सम्म मैले तिनीहरूको आखिरी विचार जानिन।

¹⁷Until I entered God’s sanctuary, and considered their latter end.

¹⁸परमेश्वर, साँच्चि नै तपाईंले ती मानिसहरूलाई भयानक अवस्थामा राख्नु भएको रहेछ। सहजै तिनीहरू पतन हुने र नष्ट हुने रहेछन्।

¹⁸Surely you set them in slippery places. You throw them down to destruction.

¹⁹संकट अचानक आउन सक्छ, तब ती अंहकारीहरू नष्ट-विनिष्ट हुन सक्छन्। भयानक कुराहरू तिनीहरूमा घट्न सक्छन् अनि तिनीहरू समाप्त हुन्छन्।

¹⁹How they are suddenly destroyed! They are completely swept away with terrors.

²⁰हे परमप्रभु, ती मानिसहरू सपना जस्तै हुन्, हामी जाग्ने बित्तिकै तिनीहरू अल्पिन्छन्। हाम्रो सपनाका राक्षसहरू जस्ता तपाईंले तिनीहरूलाई विलुप्त पारी दिनु हुनेछ।

²⁰As a dream when one wakes up, so, Lord, The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” when you awake, you will despise their fantasies.

²¹For my soul was grieved. I was embittered in my heart.

²²I was so senseless and ignorant. I was a brute beast before you.

²³मैले चाहेका सबै थोकहरू मसँग छन्। म सधैं नै तपाईंसँग साथमा छु। हे परमेश्वर, तपाईंले मेरो दाहिने हात पक्रनु भएकोछ।

²³Nevertheless, I am continually with you. You have held my right hand.

²⁴हे परमेश्वर, तपाईंले मेरो अगुवाई गर्नु हुन्छ अनि असल सल्लाह दिनुहुन्छ। त्यस पश्चात् महिमा तर्फ मलाई अगुवाई गर्नु हुन्छ।

²⁴You will guide me with your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

²⁵हे परमेश्वर, तपाईं बाहेक म स्वर्गमा कसलाई चाहन्छु। अनि म तपाईंसित पृथ्वीमा भएको बाहेक अरू केही इच्छा गर्दिनँ।

²⁵Whom do I have in heaven? There is no one on earth whom I desire besides you.

²⁶मेरो तन र मन नष्ट हुन सक्छ, तर मसँग परमेश्वर छ जसलाई म प्रेम गर्छु। मसँग परमेश्वर सदा-सर्वदा हुनुहुन्छ!

²⁶My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

²⁷हे परमेश्वर, मानिस जसले तपाईंलाई त्यग्दछ त्यो हराउने छ। तपाईंले तिनीहरूलाई ध्वंश गर्नु हुनेछ जो तपाईंसित विश्वासी छैनन्।

²⁷For, behold, those who are far from you shall perish. You have destroyed all those who are unfaithful to you.

²⁸म परमेश्वर कहाँ आएँ अनि त्यो मेरो लागि हितकारी भयो। मैले परमप्रभु परमेश्वरलाई मेरो सुरक्षित ठाउँ बनाएँ। परमेश्वर, म तपाईंकहाँ, तपाईंले गर्नु भएका सबै थोकहरू बताउन आएँ।

²⁸But it is good for me to come close to God. I have made the Lord Yahweh “Yahweh” is God’s proper Name, sometimes rendered “LORD” (all caps) in other translations. my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.
