¹Salig er den mann som ikke vandrer i ugudeliges råd og ikke står på synderes vei og ikke sitter i spotteres sete,

¹Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked, and standeth not in the way of sinners, and sitteth not in the seat of scorners;

²men har sin lyst i Herrens lov og grunder på hans lov dag og natt.

²But his delight is in Jehovah's law, and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

³Han skal være lik et tre, plantet ved rinnende bekker, som gir sin frukt i sin tid, og hvis blad ikke visner, og alt hvad han gjør, skal han ha lykke til.

³And he [is] as a tree planted by brooks of water, which giveth its fruit in its season, and whose leaf fadeth not; and all that he doeth prospereth.

⁴Ikke så de ugudelige, men de er lik agner, som spredes av vinden.

⁴The wicked are not so; but are as the chaff which the wind driveth away.

⁵Derfor skal ugudelige ikke bli stående i dommen, og syndere ikke i de rettferdiges menighet.

⁵Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

⁶For Herren kjenner de rettferdiges vei, men de ugudeliges vei går til grunne.

⁶For Jehovah knoweth the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall perish.
