1Sing ye unto Jehovah a new song: sing unto Jehovah, all the earth.
2Syng for Herren, lov hans navn, forkynn fra dag til dag hans frelse!
2Sing unto Jehovah, bless his name; publish his salvation from day to day.
3Fortell blandt hedningene hans ære, blandt alle folkene hans undergjerninger!
3Declare his glory among the nations, his wondrous works among all the peoples.
4For stor er Herren og høilovet, forferdelig er han over alle guder.
4For Jehovah is great and exceedingly to be praised; he is terrible above all gods.
5For alle folkenes guder er intet; men Herren har gjort himmelen.
5For all the gods of the peoples are idols; but Jehovah made the heavens.
6Høihet og herlighet er for hans åsyn, styrke og prydelse er i hans helligdom.
6Majesty and splendour are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
7Gi Herren, I folkeslekter, gi Herren ære og makt!
7Give unto Jehovah, ye families of peoples, give unto Jehovah glory and strength;
8Gi Herren hans navns ære, bær frem gaver og kom til hans forgårder!
8Give unto Jehovah the glory of his name; bring an oblation and come into his courts;
9Tilbed Herren i hellig prydelse, bev for hans åsyn, all jorden!
9Worship Jehovah in holy splendour; tremble before him, all the earth.
10Si blandt hedningene: Herren er blitt konge, og jorderike står fast, det rokkes ikke; han dømmer folkene med rettvishet.
10Say among the nations, Jehovah reigneth! yea, the world is established, it shall not be moved; he will execute judgment upon the peoples with equity.
11Himmelen glede sig, og jorden fryde sig, havet bruse og alt det som fyller det!
11Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof;
12Marken fryde sig og alt det som er på den! Da jubler alle trær i skogen
12Let the field exult and all that is therein. Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy,
13for Herrens åsyn; for han kommer, han kommer for å dømme jorden; han skal dømme jorderike i rettferdighet og folkene i sin trofasthet.
13Before Jehovah, for he cometh; for he cometh to judge the earth: he will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples in his faithfulness.
