¹ਦੋ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਦ ਗਲੀਲ ਦੇ ਨਗਰ ਕਾਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਆਹ ਸੀ। ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਉਥੇ ਸੀ।

¹The third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there.

²ਯਿਸੂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਵਿਆਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਦਾ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।

²Jesus also was invited, with his disciples, to the marriage.

³ਉਥੇ ਮੈ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਇਹ ਮੁਕ੍ਕ ਗਈ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਹੋਰ ਮੈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।”

³When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no wine.”

⁴ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਮੇਰਾ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਕੀ ਸਰੋਕਾਰ, ਮੇਰਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਅਜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ।”

⁴Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does that have to do with you and me? My hour has not yet come.”

⁵ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਨੇ ਟਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਖੇ।”

⁵His mother said to the servants, “Whatever he says to you, do it.”

⁶ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਦੇ ਛੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਜਲ ਦੇ ਮਟ੍ਟ ਸਨ। ਯਹੂਦੀ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਲ ਮਟ੍ਟ ਸ਼ੁਧੀਕਰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਰੀਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਰਤਦੇ ਸਨ। ਹਰੇਕ ਜਲ ਮਟ੍ਟ ਵਿੱਚ 100 ਲੀਟਰ ਤੋਂ ਲੈਕੇ 150 ਲੀਟਰ ਤੱਕ ਜਲ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

⁶Now there were six water pots of stone set there after the Jews’ way of purifying, containing two or three metretes 2 to 3 metretes is about 20 to 30 U. S. Gallons, or 75 to 115 litres. apiece.

⁷ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਟਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਟ੍ਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਲ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਦਿਓ।” ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਟ੍ਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਲ ਨਾਲ ਨਕ੍ਕੋ-ਨਕ੍ਕ ਭਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

⁷Jesus said to them, “Fill the water pots with water.” They filled them up to the brim.

⁸ਫਿਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਟਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹੁਣ ਕੁਝ ਪਾਣੀ ਖਿਚ੍ਚੋ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਵਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿਉ।” ਸੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਟਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

⁸He said to them, “Now draw some out, and take it to the ruler of the feast.” So they took it.

⁹ਉਸਨੇ ਉਹ ਜਲ ਚਖ ਕੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ। ਉਹ ਮੈ ਬਣ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਮੈ ਕਿਥੋਂ ਆਈ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਟਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਸੀ। ਦਾਵਤ ਦੇ ਪਰਧਾਨ ਨੇ ਲਾਡ਼ੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਿਆ।

⁹When the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and didn’t know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast called the bridegroom,

¹⁰ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਲੋਕ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਚੰਗੀ ਮੈ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦੋਂ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਸ਼ਰਾਬੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਸਸਤੀ ਮੈ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਵਧੀਆ ਮੈ ਰਖੀ ਹੈ।”

¹⁰and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when the guests have drunk freely, then that which is worse. You have kept the good wine until now!”

¹¹ਇਹ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਕਰਿਸ਼ਮਾ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ। ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਗਲੀਲ ਦੇ ਨਗਰ ਕਾਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਉਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਹਾਨਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਈ। ਉਸਦੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ।

¹¹This beginning of his signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

¹²ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਕਫ਼ਰਨਾਹੂਮ ਨਗਰ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆ ਉਸਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ, ਉਸਦੇ ਭਰਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਵੀ ਉਸਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੁਝ ਦਿਨ ਕਫ਼ਰਨਾਹੂਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਠਹਿਰੇ।

¹²After this, he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, his brothers, and his disciples; and they stayed there a few days.

¹³ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਸਾਹ ਦਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਨੇਡ਼ੇ ਸੀ। ਇਸਲਈ ਯਿਸੂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਆ ਗਿਆ। ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਿਸੂ ਮੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆ।

¹³The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

¹⁴ਉਥੇ ਉਸਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਡੰਗਰ, ਭੇਡਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਘੁੱਗੀਆਂ ਵੇਚਦੇ ਪਾਇਆ। ਦੂਜੇ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਮੇਜ਼ਾਂ ਤੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੈਸਾ ਲੈਣ-ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਵਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।

¹⁴He found in the temple those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves, and the changers of money sitting.

¹⁵ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਰਸੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਟੋਟਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਹੰਟਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ, ਡੰਗਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਦਰ ਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਵਪਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੇਜ਼ ਉਲਟਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੈਸਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਲੈਣ-ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਵਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, ਉਹ ਖਿੰਡਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ।

¹⁵He made a whip of cords, and threw all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew their tables.

¹⁶ਫ਼ਿਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਘੁੱਗੀਆਂ ਵੇਚਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਐਥੋਂ ਲੈ ਜਾਓ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਡੀ ਨਾ ਬਣਾਓ।”

¹⁶To those who sold the doves, he said, “Take these things out of here! Don’t make my Father’s house a marketplace!”

¹⁷ਜਦੋਂ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ: “ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਲਈ ਮੇਰੀ ਲਗਨ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਸਾਡ਼ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।” ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 69:9

¹⁷His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will eat me up.” Psalm 69:9

¹⁸ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਕਰਿਸ਼ਮਾ ਵਿਖਾਓ, ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਹੈ।

¹⁸The Jews therefore answered him, “What sign do you show us, seeing that you do these things?”

¹⁹ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਢਾਹ ਦਿਓ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਸਦਾ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।”

¹⁹Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”

²⁰ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਮੰਦਰ ਬਨਾਉਣ ਲਈ 46 ਸਾਲ ਲਾਏ ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰ ਦਿਉਂਗੇ?”

²⁰The Jews therefore said, “It took forty-six years to build this temple! Will you raise it up in three days?”

²¹ਪਰ ਜਿਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਉਸਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਸੀ।

²¹But he spoke of the temple of his body.

²²ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਪੁਨਰ-ਉਥਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਉਸਦੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਾਦ ਆਇਆ ਕਿ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਕਹੇ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੋਥੀ ਉੱਤੇ, ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖੇ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ।

²²When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he said this, and they believed the Scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

²³ਯਿਸੂ ਪਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਤਿਓਹਾਰ ਲਈ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ। ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੋ ਕਰਿਸ਼ਮੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਵੇਖੇ ਸਨ।

²³Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in his name, observing his signs which he did.

²⁴ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਯਕੀਨ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ।

²⁴But Jesus didn’t trust himself to them, because he knew everyone,

²⁵ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦੀ ਲੋਡ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ।

²⁵and because he didn’t need for anyone to testify concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.
