1ਯਿਸੂ ਯਰੀਹੋ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਲੰਘ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
1He entered and was passing through Jericho.
2ਯਰੀਹੋ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਕ੍ਕੀ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਅਮੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮਸੂਲੀਆ ਸੀ।
2There was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.
3ਉਹ ਵੇਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ? ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਬਡ਼ੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਥੇ ਸਨ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਕਿ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੁਦੇ ਸਨ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜ਼ਕ੍ਕੀ ਮਧਰਾ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਭੀਡ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਵੇਖ ਸਕਿਆ।
3He was trying to see who Jesus was, and couldn’t because of the crowd, because he was short.
4ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਰਾਹ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵੱਲ ਅੱਗੇ ਨਸਿਆ ਜਿੱਧਰੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਹ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਗੁੱਲਰ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਤੇ ਚਢ਼ ਗਿਆ।
4He ran on ahead, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was to pass that way.
5ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਉਸ ਥਾਵੇਂ ਅੱਪਡ਼ਿਆ, ਉਸ ਉੱਪਰ ਤਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਕੀ ਨੂੰ ਰੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ। ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜ਼ਕੀ, ਜਲਦੀ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਉੱਤਰ ਆ! ਅੱਜ ਰਾਤ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਰੁਕਣਾ ਹੈ।”
5When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”
6ਜਕੀ ਫ਼ਟਾਫ਼ਟ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਉੱਤਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
6He hurried, came down, and received him joyfully.
7ਸਭ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਨਜ਼ਾਰਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ, “ਵੇਖੋ! ਯਿਸੂ ਇੱਕ ਪਾਪੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਠਹਿਰਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।”
7When they saw it, they all murmured, saying, “He has gone in to lodge with a man who is a sinner.”
8ਪਰ ਜ਼ਕੀ ਉੱਪਰ ਉਠਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਧਾ ਧਨ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਲ ਧੋਖਾ ਕਰਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਚੌਗੁਣਾ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਡ਼ਾਂਗਾ।”
8Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much.”
9ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਅੱਜ, ਇਸ ਖਾਨਦਾਨ ਲਈ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਆਈ ਹੈ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਮਸੂਲੀਆਂ ਵੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਚੁਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ।
9Jesus said to him, “Today, salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham.
10ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਗੁਆਚੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਭਣ ਅਤੇ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ।”
10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.”
11ਲੋਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੀਆਂ। ਪਰ ਹੁਣ, ਉਹ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਨੇਡ਼ੇ ਆ ਗਿਆ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਜਲਡੀ ਆਵੇਗਾ।
11As they heard these things, he went on and told a parable, because he was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that the Kingdom of God would be revealed immediately.
12ਯਿਸੂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਲੋਕ ਇੰਝ ਸੋਚ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਆਧਾਰ ਤੇ ਉਸਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ, “ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਹਿਜ਼ਾਦਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੂਰ ਦੇਸ਼ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਜਿਥੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਣਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਸਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਉਣਾ ਸੀ।
12He said therefore, “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
13ਇਸਲਈ ਉਸਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਸ ਨੋਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕਠਿਆਂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਸਨੇ ਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਦੌਲਤ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਥੈਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਮੁਡ਼ਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਧਨ ਨਾਲ ਵਪਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ।’
13 He called ten servants of his, and gave them ten mina coins, and told them, ‘Conduct business until I come.’
14ਪਰ ਉਸਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਾਸਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਗੁਟ੍ਟ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਕੇ ਕਾਸਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ, ‘ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਨਾਉਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ।’
14 But his citizens hated him, and sent an envoy after him, saying, ‘We don’t want this man to reign over us.’
15“ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਮੁਡ਼ ਆਇਆ, ਉਸਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ‘ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੋਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦੋ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਧਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਮੈਂ ਜਾਨਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਧਨ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਨਫ਼ਾ ਕਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ।’
15 “It happened when he had come back again, having received the kingdom, that he commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by conducting business.
16ਪਹਿਲਾ ਨੋਕਰ ਆਇਆ ਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮਾਲਕ! ਜੋ ਧਨ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਗਏ ਸੀ, ਉਸਨੂੰ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਦਸ ਗੁਣਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
16 The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten more minas.’
17ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਸ਼ਾਬਾਸ਼! ਤੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਚੰਗਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਛੋਟੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸਯੋਗ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਾਕਮ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ।
17 “He said to him, ‘Well done, you good servant! Because you were found faithful with very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’
18ਦੂਜੇ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ‘ਮਾਲਕ! ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਇੱਕ ਧਨ ਦੇ ਥੈਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਪੰਜ ਗੁਣਾ ਧਨ ਕਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
18 “The second came, saying, ‘Your mina, Lord, has made five minas.’
19ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸਨ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪੰਜ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਾਕਮ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ।
19 “So he said to him, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’
20ਤਦ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਨੋਕਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੇ ਆਣਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਇਹ ਰਿਹਾ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਧਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਥੈਲਾ। ਮੈਂ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੇ ਕੱਪਡ਼ੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਪੇਟ ਕੇ ਲੁਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।
20 Another came, saying, ‘Lord, behold, your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief,
21ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਡਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਖਤ ਤਬੀਅਤ ਦੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਹੋ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਧਨ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹੋ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਮਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਬੀਜਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਸੋ ਵਢਦੇ ਹੋ।’
21 for I feared you, because you are an exacting man. You take up that which you didn’t lay down, and reap that which you didn’t sow.’
22ਤਦ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਨੋਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ‘ਓ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਨੋਕਰ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੀ ਨਿਖੇਧੀ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਤੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਸਖਤ ਦਿਲ ਆਦਮੀ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਧਨ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਕਮਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਅੰਨ ਲੈ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਬੀਜਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ।
22 “He said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth will I judge you, you wicked servant! You knew that I am an exacting man, taking up that which I didn’t lay down, and reaping that which I didn’t sow.
23ਜੇਕਰ ਇਹ ਸੱਚ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਾਫ਼ੇ ਦੀ ਹਟ੍ਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਸੀ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਪਰਤਦਾ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਧਨ ਕੁਝ ਬਿਆਜ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
23 Then why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank, and at my coming, I might have earned interest on it?’
24ਤਦ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਖਡ਼ੇ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਵੇਖ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਉਸਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਧਨ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਝੋਲਾ ਇਸ ਨੋਕਰ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਲਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੋਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦੇਵੋ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਧਨ ਦੇ ਦਸ ਝੋਲੇ ਕਮਾਏ ਹਨ।’
24 He said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina away from him, and give it to him who has the ten minas.’
25ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਪਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਕੋਲ ਤਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਧਨ ਦੇ ਦਸ ਝੋਲੇ ਹਨ।’
25 “They said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten minas!’
26ਫ਼ੇਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਹਰ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ, ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਪਰ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਜਿਸ ਕੋਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
26 ‘For I tell you that to everyone who has, will more be given; but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.
27ਹੁਣ ਕਿਥੇ ਹਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ? ਕਿਥੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਨਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ? ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਥੇ ਲਿਆਕੇ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟੋ। ‘ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਵੇਖਾਂਗਾ।”‘
27 But bring those enemies of mine who didn’t want me to reign over them here, and kill them before me.’”
28ਇਹ ਸਭ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆ।
28Having said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.
29ਜਦ ਉਹ ਬੈਤਫਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਤਅਨੀਆ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਜ਼ੈਤੂਨ ਦੇ ਪਹਾਡ਼ ਤੇ ਹੈ, ਉਸਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੋ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ,
29It happened, when he drew near to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the mountain that is called Olivet, he sent two of his disciples,
30“ਉਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ, ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਥੋਂ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਥੇ ਜਾਵੋ। ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰੋ, ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਗਧੀ ਦਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਬਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਲੱਭੇਗਾ ਹਾਲੇ ਤੱਕ ਇਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਸਵਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਲੈ ਆਵੋ।
30saying, “Go your way into the village on the other side, in which, as you enter, you will find a colt tied, whereon no man ever yet sat. Untie it, and bring it.
31ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਪੁਛੇ, ‘ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਲਿਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ?’ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਆਖੋ, ‘ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਦੀ ਲੋਡ਼ ਹੈ।’
31 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say to him: ‘The Lord needs it.’”
32ਦੋਨੋ ਚੇਲੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਥੇ ਇੱਕ ਗਧਾ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਦਸਿਆ ਸੀ।
32Those who were sent went away, and found things just as he had told them.
33ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, ਮਾਲਕ ਬਾਹਰ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਗਧੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ?”
33As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”
34ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਦੀ ਲੋਡ਼ ਹੈ।”
34They said, “The Lord needs it.”
35ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਚੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਗਧੀ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਲੈ ਆਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਸਤਰ ਗਧੇ ਦੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਵਿਛਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਉੱਪਰ ਬਿਠਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
35They brought it to Jesus. They threw their cloaks on the colt, and set Jesus on them.
36ਜਿਓ ਹੀ ਯਿਸੂ ਸਵਾਰੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਿਆ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੱਪਡ਼ੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਖਿਲਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
36As he went, they spread their cloaks in the way.
37ਉਹ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਨੇਡ਼ੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਤਕਰੀਬਨ ਜੈਤੂਨ ਦੀ ਪਹਾਡ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਉਤਰਾਈ ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ। ਸ਼ਰਧਲੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਭੀਡ਼ ਖੁਸ਼ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਰਿਸ਼ਮੇ ਵੇਖੇ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕੀਤੀ।
37As he was now getting near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen,
38ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਵੇਖੀਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਮ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੁਕਰਾਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “‘ਧੰਨ ਹੈ! ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।’ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 118:26 ਸੁਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਿਮਾ।”
38saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!”
39ਭੀਡ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਫਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੋ ਕਿ ਇੰਝ ਕਹਿਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਜ ਆਉਣ!”
39Some of the Pharisees from the multitude said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”
40ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਆਖਣੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਂ ਹਨ। ਜੇਕਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਚੁੱਪ ਕਰ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਪੱਥਰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਬੋਲ ਉਠਣਗੇ।”
40He answered them, “I tell you that if these were silent, the stones would cry out.”
41ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਨੇਡ਼ੇ ਆਇਆ, ਉਸਨੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਰੋਇਆ।
41When he drew near, he saw the city and wept over it,
42ਉਸਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕਾਸ਼ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਅੱਜ ਇਹ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਡ਼ੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਲਿਆਉਣਗੀਆਂ। ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਸਕਦਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਲੁਕੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
42saying, “If you, even you, had known today the things which belong to your peace! But now, they are hidden from your eyes.
43ਇੱਕ ਸਮਾਂ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਮੋਰਚਾ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਸਿਓ ਘੇਰਾ ਪਾ ਲੈਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਦਬਾਉ ਪਾਉਣਗੇ।
43 For the days will come on you, when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, surround you, hem you in on every side,
44ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਗੇ। ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਪੱਥਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਜੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੇਣਗੇ। ਇਹ ਸਭ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਵਾਪਰੇਗਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਆਇਆ ਤੂੰ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ।”
44 and will dash you and your children within you to the ground. They will not leave in you one stone on another, because you didn’t know the time of your visitation.”
45ਯਿਸੂ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਆ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜੋ ਅੰਦਰ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਵੇਚ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
45He entered into the temple, and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it,
46ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਹ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ‘ਮੇਰਾ ਘਰ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ’, ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਡਾਕੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਲੁਕਣ ਦੀ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।”‘
46saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of robbers’!”
47ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ, ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਦੇ ਆਗੂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਤਾਡ਼ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
47He was teaching daily in the temple, but the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people sought to destroy him.
48ਪਰ ਉਹ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਨਾ ਲਭ ਸਕੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਬਡ਼ੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
48They couldn’t find what they might do, for all the people hung on to every word that he said.
