¹ਕੁਝ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਤੋਂ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਗਿਰਦ ਇਕਠੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ।

¹Then the Pharisees, and some of the scribes gathered together to him, having come from Jerusalem.

²ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਚੇਲੇ ਅਣ-ਧੋਤੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਰੋਟੀ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ।

²Now when they saw some of his disciples eating bread with defiled, that is, unwashed, hands, they found fault.

³ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਡੇਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਰੀਤ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾ ਧੋ ਲੈਣ ਉਹ ਰੋਟੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ।

³(For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, don’t eat unless they wash their hands and forearms, holding to the tradition of the elders.

⁴ਅਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਬਜਾਰੋਂ ਲਿਆਉਦੇ, ਉਹ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਸਮੀ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾ ਧੋ ਲੈਣ। ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਰੀਤਾਂ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਨਿਭਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ। ਉਦਾਹਰਣ ਲਈ, ਪਿਆਲੇ, ਘਡ਼ਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਬਰਤਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧੋਣਾ।

⁴They don’t eat when they come from the marketplace, unless they bathe themselves, and there are many other things, which they have received to hold to: washings of cups, pitchers, bronze vessels, and couches.)

⁵ਤਦ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਜੋ ਰੀਤਾਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਡੇਰਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ? ਤੇਰੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਅਣ-ਧੋਤੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰੋਟੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ?”

⁵The Pharisees and the scribes asked him, “Why don’t your disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?”

⁶ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਭ ਕਪਟੀ ਹੋ। ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਯਸਾਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਠੀਕ ਅਗੰਮ ਵਾਕ ਕੀਤਾ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ‘ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੁਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਿਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੈ।

⁶He answered them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

⁷ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਥਾ ਟੇਕਣਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਉਹ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਣਾਏ ਕਨੂੰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਿਉਂ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।’ਯਸਾਯਾਹ 29:13

⁷ But in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ Isaiah 29:13

⁸ਤੁਸੀਂ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਖਾਤਿਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਟਾਲ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ।”

⁸ “For you set aside the commandment of God, and hold tightly to the tradition of men—the washing of pitchers and cups, and you do many other such things.”

⁹ਫ਼ਿਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਬਡ਼ਾ ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਹੋ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਨੂੰ ਟਾਲ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹੋ!

⁹He said to them, “Full well do you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.

¹⁰ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ‘ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਤਾ-ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।’ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਆਖਿਆ, ‘ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਜਾਂ ਮਾਤਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਮੰਦਾ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।”

¹⁰ For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother;’ Exodus 20:12; Deuteronomy 5:16 and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’ Exodus 21:17; Leviticus 20:9

¹¹ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਤਾ-ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ‘ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਕੁਝ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ ਉਪਯੋਗੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ, ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਭੇਂਟ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਪਾਸੇ ਸੰਭਾਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।’

¹¹ But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban Corban is a Hebrew word for an offering devoted to God. , that is to say, given to God”;’

¹²ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਤਾ-ਪਿਤਾ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨ ਦਿੰਦੇ।

¹² then you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother,

¹³ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਰਿਵਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਬਥੇਰੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ।”

¹³ making void the word of God by your tradition, which you have handed down. You do many things like this.”

¹⁴ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਲ ਬੁਲਾਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਝੇ।

¹⁴He called all the multitude to himself, and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand.

¹⁵ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਹਰੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਦੂਸ਼ਿਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਹੀ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਦੂਸ਼ਿਤ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।”

¹⁵ There is nothing from outside of the man, that going into him can defile him; but the things which proceed out of the man are those that defile the man.

¹⁷When he had entered into a house away from the multitude, his disciples asked him about the parable.

¹⁸ਉਸਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਸਮਝਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ? ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਬਾਹਰੋਂ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਦੂਸ਼ਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ।

¹⁸He said to them, “Are you thus without understanding also? Don’t you perceive that whatever goes into the man from outside can’t defile him,

¹⁹ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਢਿਡ੍ਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਨਾ ਕਿ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ। ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।” ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਭਾਵ ਇਹ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਭੋਜਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿਹਾਡ਼ਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਲਈ ਅਸ਼ੁਧ ਹੈ।

¹⁹ because it doesn’t go into his heart, but into his stomach, then into the latrine, thus purifying all foods or, making all foods clean ?”

²⁰ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਉਹ ਜੋ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਅਸ਼ੁਧ ਬਨਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

²⁰He said, “That which proceeds out of the man, that defiles the man.

²¹ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਬੁਰੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ, ਜਿਨਸੀ ਪਾਪ, ਚੋਰੀਆਂ, ਕਤਲ।

²¹ For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts,

²²ਵਿਭਚਾਰ, ਸੁਆਰਥਪੁਣਾ, ਬੁਰਾ ਵਿਉਹਾਰ, ਪਾਪੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ, ਧੋਖਾ, ਈਰਖਾ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਬੁਰਾ-ਭਲਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ, ਹੰਕਾਰੀ ਬੋਲ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਰਖਤਾਈ।

²² covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness.

²³ਇਹ ਸਭ ਬੁਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਅਸ਼ੁਧ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।”

²³ All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.”

²⁴ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਉਥੋਂ ਉਠਕੇ ਸੂਰ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਆ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੇ ਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਖਬਰ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਲੁਕਿਆ ਨਾ ਰਖ ਸਕਿਆ।

²⁴From there he arose, and went away into the borders of Tyre and Sidon. He entered into a house, and didn’t want anyone to know it, but he couldn’t escape notice.

²⁵ਇੱਕ ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਛੋਟੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਕੁਡ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆਈ ਜਿਸ ਅੰਦਰ ਇੱਕ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਆਤਮਾ ਸੀ। ਔਰਤ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਣਾਂ ਤੇ ਝੁਕੀ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਮ ਕੀਤਾ।

²⁵For a woman, whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having heard of him, came and fell down at his feet.

²⁶ਉਹ ਔਰਤ ਗੈਰ-ਯਹੂਦੀ ਯੂਨਾਨਣ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨਾ ਜਨਮ ਸੂਰੁਫ਼ੈਨੀਕਣ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਸੀਰਿਆ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੀ ਧੀ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਭੂਤ ਨੂੰ ਕਢਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ।

²⁶Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. She begged him that he would cast the demon out of her daughter.

²⁷ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਜਿੰਨੀ ਰੋਟੀ ਬੱਚੇ ਚਾਹੁਣ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਣ ਦਿਓ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਬਚਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਰੋਟੀ ਲੈਕੇ ਕਤੂਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਉਣੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ।”

²⁷But Jesus said to her, “Let the children be filled first, for it is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”

²⁸ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ, ਇਹ ਸੱਚ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਮੇਜ਼ ਦੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਬੈਠੇ ਕੁੱਤੇ ਵੀ ਬਚਿਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਛੱਡੇ ਗਏ ਰੋਟੀ ਦੇ ਟੁਕਡ਼ੇ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।”

²⁸But she answered him, “Yes, Lord. Yet even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”

²⁹ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਚੰਗਾ ਜਵਾਬ ਹੈ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਤੂੰ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈਂ। ਭੂਤ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਧੀ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।”

²⁹He said to her, “For this saying, go your way. The demon has gone out of your daughter.”

³⁰ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਹ ਔਰਤ ਘਰ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਧੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਜੇ ਤੇ ਪਈ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਭੂਤ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।

³⁰She went away to her house, and found the child having been laid on the bed, with the demon gone out.

³¹ਉਸਨੇ ਸੂਰ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਖੇਤ੍ਰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਦਾ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਦਿਕਾਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੇ ਖੇਤ੍ਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੀ ਲੰਘਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਗਲੀਲੀ ਝੀਲ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆ।

³¹Again he departed from the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and came to the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the region of Decapolis.

³²ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਉਥੇ ਸੀ, ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਇੱਕ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆਏ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੂੰਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਲਾ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਅਰਜੋਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਉਸ ਉੱਪਰ ਰਖਕੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ।

³²They brought to him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech. They begged him to lay his hand on him.

³³ਯਿਸੂ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੀਡ਼ ਤੋਂ ਵਖਰਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਉਂਗਲਾਂ ਉਸਦੇ ਕੰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਈਆਂ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਥੁਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਜੀਭ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹਿਆ।

³³He took him aside from the multitude, privately, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spat, and touched his tongue.

³⁴ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮੂੰਹ ‘ਚ ਹਉਂਕਾ ਭਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਫ਼ਤ੍ਤਾ!” (ਇਸਦਾ ਭਾਵ, “ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਜਾ!”)

³⁴Looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha!” that is, “Be opened!”

³⁵ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੁਨਣ ਦੇ ਸਮਰਥ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਫ਼-ਸਾਫ਼ ਬੋਲਣ ਦੇ ਵੀ ਸਮਰਥ ਸੀ।

³⁵Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was released, and he spoke clearly.

³⁶ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਗੀਦ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ। ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਪਰ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਉਹ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਦੱਸਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਵਧ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਦੱਸਦੇ।

³⁶He commanded them that they should tell no one, but the more he commanded them, so much the more widely they proclaimed it.

³⁷ਲੋਕ ਬਡ਼ੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਿਸੂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਵਧੀਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਬੋਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਨਣ ਅਤੇ ਗੂੰਗਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੋਲਣ ਦੇ ਕਾਬਿਲ ਵੀ ਬਨਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।”

³⁷They were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf hear, and the mute speak!”
