18

1Jesun huai thute a gen khitin a nungjuite toh a pawt ua, Kidron luiguam a kan ua, huaiah huan a om a, hui ah a lut ua, amah leh a nungjuite toh.
1When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples.
2Huan, a mansakpa Juda in leng huai mun a theita; Jesu a nungjuite toh huaiah a pawt jeljel ngal ua.
2And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples.
3Huchiin Judain sepaih pawl toh, siampu liante leh Pharisaite kianga om heutute toh a pi a, khawnvakte, meiselte, galvante tawiin huaiah a hongpai ua.
3Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.
4Jesun a tunga thil tungding tengteng a thei gige a, a vapawta, a kiang uah, Kua ahia na zon uh? a chi a.
4Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?
5Amau a kiangah, Nazaret Jesu a chi ua, a dawng ua. Jesun a kianguah Keimah ka hi, a chi a.
5They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.
6Huan, a mansakpa Juda leng a lak uah a ding a. Huai Keimah ka hi, a chih takin, a nungtolh ua, leiah a puk duam ua.
6As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
7Huan, aman a kianguah, Kua ahia na zon uh? a chi a, a dawng nawna. Huan, amau, Nazaret Jesu, a chi ua.
7Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.
8Huan, Jesun, Keimah ka hi chih kon hilhta a; nou kei honzong na hih uleh hiaite hoihtakin khah un, a chi a a dawng a.
8Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:
9Hiai tuh a thugen, Nang kei non piakte khat leng ka mangsaak kei, a chih, a tunna din ahi.
9That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, Of them which thou gavest me have I lost none.
10Huan, Simon Peterin namsau a voma, a doka, siampu lianpen sikha a sata, a bil taklam a sat khiak saka. Sikha min tuh Malka ahi.
10Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.
11Huchiin, Jesun Peter kiangah, Huai namsau a pai ah siatin; Pain nou kei honpiak ka dawn kei dia hia? a chi a.
11Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?
12Huchiin, sepaih pawl toh, heutupen u toh, Judate heutute toh Jesu a man ua, a hen ua.
12Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him,
13Ana kiangah a pi masa ua, Kaiapha sungpa a hih jiakin. Kaiapha, huai kuma siampu lianpen ahi a.
13And led him away to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year.
14Kaiapha, Mi tengteng sanga mikhat sih a hoih, chia, Judate hasuanpa ahi.
14Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
15Huan, Simon Peterin Jesu a juia, a nungjui dang khat toh. Huai nungjuipa tuh siampu lianpen mel theih ahia, siampu lianpen in huangsung intual ah, Jesu kiang ah a lut sam a;
15And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple: that disciple was known unto the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest.
16himahleh Peter jaw po lamah kongkhak bulah a ding hi. Huchiin nungjui dang siampu lianpen meltheih, a va pawta, kongkhak ngaknu a houpiha, Peter a pi luta.
16But Peter stood at the door without. Then went out that other disciple, which was known unto the high priest, and spake unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.
17Huan, kongkhak ngaknu nungakin Peter kiangah, Nang leng hiai mi nungjuite laka pangsam na hi hia? a chi a.
17Then saith the damsel that kept the door unto Peter, Art not thou also one of this man's disciples? He saith, I am not.
18Aman, Ka hi kei, a chi a. Huan, sikhate leh heutute huaiah a ding diamduam ua, a vot jiakin meiholin mei a toh ua, a lum a awi uhi; Peter leng a kiangua a pang a, ding kawmin mei lum a awi sam hi.
18And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.
19Huan, siampu lianpenin Jesu a nungjuite tanchin leh a thuhilh dan a donga.
19The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine.
20Jesun a dawnga, a kiangah, Khovel mi kiangah, vantang theihin, thu ka gen gige a; kikhopna in leh, Pathian biakin, Juda tengteng om khawmna ahte bang thu ka hilh jela, a simin bangmah ka gen kei hi.
20Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.
21Bang achia kei hondong? A kiang ua ka thu gendan ka thu zate dong in; ngaiin, huaiten ka thugen a thei uh a keihiam, a chi a.
21Why askest thou me? ask them which heard me, what I have said unto them: behold, they know what I said.
22Huan a gen takin a kianga ding heutu khatin Jesu a benga, siampu lianpen hichi bangin na dawng maw? a chi a.
22And when he had thus spoken, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so?
23Jesun a kiangah, Thu gilou gen ka hih leh, a gitlouhna hontheisak in; himahleh, thu pha ka gen inleng bang achia honbeng? a chi a, a dawnga.
23Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me?
24Huan, Anain hensain siampu lianpen Kaiapha kiangah a saw hi.
24Now Annas had sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest.
25Huan, Simon Peterin dingin meilum a awi a. Huan, Nang leng a nungjuite laka pang sam na hi hia? a chi ua. Aman, Ka hi kei, chiin, a kitheihmohbawla.
25And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also one of his disciples? He denied it, and said, I am not.
26Huan, simapu lianpu sikha khat, Peter bil sat khiak sanggamin, A kiangah, huan ah ka honmu kei maw? a chi a.
26One of the servants of the high priest, being his kinsman whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?
27Huchiin Peterin a kitheihmohbawl nawn a; huan, ak a khuang pah ngal hi.
27Peter then denied again: and immediately the cock crew.
28Huan, Jesu Kaiapha in a kipanin kumpipa in ah a pi nawn ua; jingsang ahi a; huan, amau jaw kumpipa in ah a lut kei uh, a lut un jaw a buah ding ua, Paikan Ankuanglui a ne theikei kha ding uhi.
28Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.
29Huan, Pilat a kiang uah a va pawta, a kiang uah, Hiai mi tungah hekna bang ahia na neih uh? a chi a.
29Pilate then went out unto them, and said, What accusation bring ye against this man?
30Amau a kiangah, Hiai mi migilou hi keileh na kiang ah kon pi kei ding uh, a chi ua, a dawng ua.
30They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee.
31Huan, Pilatin a kiang uah, Nou pi unla, na dan bang un a thu vaihawmsak un, a chi a. Judaten a kiangah, Kou thuin kuamah hihlup dan ahi kei, a chi ua.
31Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:
32Hiai tuh a sih danding thu, Jesun a gen banga, a tuna dingin ahi.
32That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying what death he should die.
33Huchiin, Pilat a in ah a lut nawna, Jesu a sama, a kiangah, Judate kumpipa na hi ahia? a chi a.
33Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?
34Jesun, Hiai nangmah lungsim puak khiaka na gen hia, midang in honhilh, ka tungtang thu? a chi a, a dawng a.
34Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?
35Pilatin, Kei Juda mi ka hi ahia? Nangmah chite leh siampu lianten ka kiangah nang a honpi ua ahi; thil bang ahia na hih? a chi a, a dawng a.
35Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done?
36Jesun, Ka kumpihihna hiai khovela ahi kei; ka kumpihihna hiai khovela hi leh, ka sikhaten gal a dou ding uh, Judate kianga piaka ka om louhna dingin; himahleh, ka kumpihihna jaw hiai khovela kipan ahi kei hi, a chi a, a dawng a.
36Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
37Huan, Pilatin a kiangah, E, kumpipa na hi maw? a chi a. Jesun, Hi e, kumpipa ka hi. Thutak theihsak ka piansan leh khovela ka hongpai san ahi. Kuapeuh thutaka peuhmahin ka thu a sang uh, a chi a.
37Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
38Pilatin, a kiangah, Thutak tuh bang ahia? a chi a. Huan, Huai thu a gen khit takin, Judate kiangah a vapawt nawna, a kiang uah, Bangmah a gitlouhna ka mu kei.
38Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.
39Himahleh, Paikan Ankuangluina ah mi khat kon pawtsak ding dan na nei uh; huchiin, Judate kumpipa honpawt sak leng na ut uhia? a chi a.Huan, amau a kikou nawn ua, Hiai mi jaw hi kei henla, Barabba pen hi jaw heh a chi ua. Barabba tuh suamhat ahi.
39But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?
40Huan, amau a kikou nawn ua, Hiai mi jaw hi kei henla, Barabba pen hi jaw heh a chi ua. Barabba tuh suamhat ahi.
40Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.
