1These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel beyond the Jordan in the wilderness, in the Arabah over against Suph, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.
2Horeb tang a kipan in Kades-barnea bel Seir tang lam lampi ah ni sawm leh ni khat lam ahi.
2It is eleven days’ journey from Horeb by the way of Mount Seir to Kadesh Barnea.
3Huan, kum sawmli kum, kha sawm leh kha khatna, huai kha ni khat ni in, hichi ahi a, TOUPA'N amau hilh ding a thu a piak tengteng Israel suante kiang ah Mosi in a gen a;
3It happened in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spoke to the children of Israel, according to all that Yahweh had given him in commandment to them;
4Hesbon a om Amorte kumpipa Sihon leh Edrei leh Astarot a om Basan kumpipa Og a thah nung in:

5Jordan suah lam Moab gamah hiai dan Mosi in a genkhe panta hi.
5Beyond the Jordan, in the land of Moab, began Moses to declare this law, saying,
6TOUPA i Pathian un Horeb tang ah hon houpih a, Hiai tang ah na om sawt hunta uh:
6“Yahweh our God spoke to us in Horeb, saying, You have lived long enough in this mountain:

7turn, and take your journey, and go to the hill country of the Amorites, and to all the places near there, in the Arabah, in the hill country, and in the lowland, and in the South, and by the seashore, the land of the Canaanites, and Lebanon, as far as the great river, the river Euphrates.
8Ngai un, gam ka hon pekhin a: na pu uh Abrahamte, Isakte, Jakobte leh amau nung a a suan sawnte uh kiang a kichiam a TOUPA'N a piak gam va luah un, chi in.
8Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which Yahweh swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to them and to their seed after them.”
9Huan, huai lai in na kiang uah, Kei kia in ka hon pozou kei a;
9I spoke to you at that time, saying, “I am not able to bear you myself alone:
10TOUPA na Pathian un a hon pung sak a, ngai un, tu in na tamdan uh van a aksi zah hial a hong hi ta uh.
10Yahweh your God has multiplied you, and behold, you are this day as the stars of the sky for multitude.
11TOUPA, na pi-le-pute un Pathian in tu sanga amun sang in hon pung sak henla, a hon chiam bang in hon vualzawl hen.
11Yahweh, the God of your fathers, make you a thousand times as many as you are, and bless you, as he has promised you!
12Bang chi in kei kia in na buainate uh, na puakgikte uh, na kihou theihlouhnate uh ka po zou dia?
12How can I myself alone bear your encumbrance, and your burden, and your strife?
13Na nam lak ua mi, mi pil, theisiam mi, a dan ding theimi kitelkhia unla, na tung ua heutu ding in ka hon bawl ding, chi in a hon houpih a.
13Take wise men of understanding and well known according to your tribes, and I will make them heads over you.”
14Huan, nou na thil gen kou a ding in a hoih mahmah, chi in no'n dawng ua.
14You answered me, and said, “The thing which you have spoken is good to do.”

15So I took the heads of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, and captains of fifties, and captains of tens, and officers, according to your tribes.
16Huan, huailai in na vaihawm mite uh, Na unaute uh kal a thu ngaihkhiak sak unla, unau leh unau kal ah leh gamdang mi, a ompih toh a kaal uah diktat tak in hawm un.
16I commanded your judges at that time, saying, “Hear cases between your brothers, and judge righteously between a man and his brother, and the foreigner who is living with him.
17Vaihawmna ah deihsak tuam na neih ding uh ahi kei; mi neu leh mi lian kibang tak in na ngaihkhiak sak ding uh ahi; kuamah na lau ding uh ahi kei; vaihawmna lah Pathian a ahi ngal a: nou a ding a thu haksa luate ka kiang ah na hon tun zel ding ua, huan, huai ka ngaikhe zel ding, chi in thu ka pia.
17You shall not show partiality in judgment; you shall hear the small and the great alike; you shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God’s. The case that is too hard for you, you shall bring to me, and I will hear it.”
18Huan, huai lai in thil na hihdan ding tengteng uah thu ka hon pia hi.
18I commanded you at that time all the things which you should do.
19Huan, TOUPA'N thu hon piak bang in Horeb tang a kipan in i pawt ua, Amorte tang gam lampi a gamdai zapi leh mulkimhuai tak na muh uh i kantan ua, Kadesbarnea khua I va tung ua.
19We traveled from Horeb, and went through all that great and terrible wilderness which you saw, by the way to the hill country of the Amorites, as Yahweh our God commanded us; and we came to Kadesh Barnea.
20Huan, na kiang uah, TOUPA i Pathian in a hon piak Amorte tang gam na hong tung ta ua.
20I said to you, “You have come to the hill country of the Amorites, which Yahweh our God gives to us.
21Ngai dih ua, TOUPA na Pathian un gam a hon pekhin ta hi; hohtou unla, TOUPA na pi-le-pute uh Pathian in a na genkhitsa bang in va luahtou un; lau kei unla, lunglel sam kei un, ka hon chi a.
21Behold, Yahweh your God has set the land before you: go up, take possession, as Yahweh, the God of your fathers, has spoken to you; don’t be afraid, neither be dismayed.”
22Huan, ka kiang ah na hong paivek ua, a gam khawng va enkhia in, i hohtouhna ding lampi leh i hohna ding kho tanchinte hong hilh nawn ding in i ma uah mi sawl leng, na chi ua:
22You came near to me everyone of you, and said, “Let us send men before us, that they may search the land for us, and bring us word again of the way by which we must go up, and the cities to which we shall come.”
23Huai in hon kipaksak ngial a; huchi in na lak ua mi sawm leh nih, nam khat a khat zel ka tel a:
23The thing pleased me well; and I took twelve men of you, one man for every tribe:
24Huchi in a pawt ta ua, tang ah a kahtou ua, Eskol guam a va tung ua, a enkhe vek ua.
24and they turned and went up into the hill country, and came to the valley of Eshcol, and spied it out.
25Huai gam a theite a lou ua, a hon puak ua, tanchin a hon tun ua; TOUPA i Pathian hon gam piak hoih petmah ahi, a chi ua.
25They took of the fruit of the land in their hands, and brought it down to us, and brought us word again, and said, “It is a good land which Yahweh our God gives to us.”
26Himahleh na hohtou nuam kei ua, TOUPA na Pathian uh thupiak na helsan ua:
26Yet you wouldn’t go up, but rebelled against the commandment of Yahweh your God:
27Na puan innte uah na phun ua, TOUPA'N a hon huat ziak in hon hihmang ding a, Amorte khut a hon pe ding in Aigupta gam a kipan hon pikhia ahi.
27and you murmured in your tents, and said, “Because Yahweh hated us, he has brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.
28Koi lai ah ahia i hoh touh ding? I unaute'n, mihing ei sang in a lian ua, san leng a sang zaw ua; khuate khawng a lian a, van sun in kulh a nei uh; huan, Anakte tate leng i mu a, chi in i lungtang uh a kesak ua, na chi uh.
28Where are we going up? our brothers have made our heart to melt, saying, ‘The people are greater and taller than we; the cities are great and fortified up to the sky; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.’”
29Huan, ke'n na kiang uah, Amaute kihta kei unla, lau leng lau sam kei un.
29Then I said to you, “Don’t dread, neither be afraid of them.
30TOUPA na Pathian na makaipa un na mitmuh ua Aigupta gam a hon hihsak tengteng bang in a hon sual pih ding a;
30Yahweh your God who goes before you, he will fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes,
31Gamdai ah leng mi'n a ta a pua TOUPA na Pathian un hiai lai mun na tun tan un lam tawn a hon puakdan na mu ding uhi, ka chi a.
31and in the wilderness, where you have seen how that Yahweh your God bore you, as a man does bear his son, in all the way that you went, until you came to this place.”
32Himahleh hiai thil ah TOUPA na Pathian uh na gingta kei uh,
32Yet in this thing you didn’t believe Yahweh your God,
33Na puan inn na zak ding uh hon zonsak ding leh na lampi uh hon kawkmuh ding a zan a mei a, sun a meipi a na ma uh pipa.
33who went before you in the way, to seek you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to show you by what way you should go, and in the cloud by day.
34Huan TOUPA'N na thugen uh a na za a, a heh a, a kichiam a,
34Yahweh heard the voice of your words, and was angry, and swore, saying,
35Hiai suan gilou tak lak a mi khat mahmah in leng na pi-le-pute uh pe ding a ka kichiamna gam hoih petmah a mu kei ding uh,
35“Surely not one of these men of this evil generation shall see the good land, which I swore to give to your fathers,
36Jephune tapa Kaleb kia ngallou in; aman zaw a mu ding; a va sik gam amah leh a tate ka pe ding, aman TOUPA a pomkip ziak in, chi in.
36except Caleb the son of Jephunneh: he shall see it; and to him will I give the land that he has trodden on, and to his children, because he has wholly followed Yahweh.”
37Noute ziak in ka tungah leng TOUPA a heh a, Nang leng huai lai ah na lut kei ding a:
37Also Yahweh was angry with me for your sakes, saying, “You also shall not go in there:
38Na nnasempa Nun tapa Josua bel a lut ding; amah hasuan in, Israelte a lutsak sin ahi.
38Joshua the son of Nun, who stands before you, he shall go in there: encourage you him; for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.
39Na ta neute uh, Gallak in a la mai ding uh, na chih uleh, tua asia-apha thei nailou na tate uh a lut ding ua, amau zaw ka pe ding a, a luah ding uh.
39Moreover your little ones, whom you said should be a prey, and your children, who this day have no knowledge of good or evil, they shall go in there, and to them will I give it, and they shall possess it.
40Nou a hihleh kihei unla, Tuipi San lam ah gamdai ah hoh un, chi in.
40But as for you, turn, and take your journey into the wilderness by the way to the Red Sea .”
41Huan, Nou TOUPA tungah i na khial ta uhi, i hohtou ding ua, TOUPA i Pathan in thu a hon piak tengteng bang in i va sual ding uh, chi in no'n dawng ua, huchi in kidouna van in na kivan chiat ua, tang a hohtouh thil neuchik ding in na ngaihtuah ua.
41Then you answered and said to me, “We have sinned against Yahweh, we will go up and fight, according to all that Yahweh our God commanded us.” Every man of you put on his weapons of war, and presumed to go up into the hill country.
42Huan, TOUPA'N ka kiang ah, Hohtou kei un, va sual sam kei un, na lak uah lah ka om ngal kei a, na melmate un a hon na hihlum kha ding uh, a kiang uah chi in, a hon chi a.
42Yahweh said to me, “Tell them, ‘Don’t go up, neither fight; for I am not among you; lest you be struck before your enemies.’”
43Huai ka hon hilh a, na pom kei ua, TOUPA thupiak na helsan zo ta ua, tang ah na hohtou teitei uh.
43So I spoke to you, and you didn’t listen; but you rebelled against the commandment of Yahweh, and were presumptuous, and went up into the hill country.
44Huan, huai tang ah Amorte'n a honna sual ua, khuai mi delh bang in a hon na delh ua, Seir a kipan in Horma tan in a hon that zel ua.
44The Amorites, who lived in that hill country, came out against you, and chased you, as bees do, and beat you down in Seir, even to Hormah.
45Huan, na hong kiknawn ua, TOUPA ma ah na kap ua; himahleh TOUPA'N na aw uh a ngaikhe nuamkei a, a bil leng a hon doh nuam sam kei hi.Huchi in huai a na om sung uh ngaihtuah in Kades ah sawtpi na om uhi.
45You returned and wept before Yahweh; but Yahweh didn’t listen to your voice, nor gave ear to you.
46Huchi in huai a na om sung uh ngaihtuah in Kades ah sawtpi na om uhi.
46So you stayed in Kadesh many days, according to the days that you remained.
