Hosea

11

1Israel mnaupang a hihlaiin, huailaiin amah ka ita, Aigupta akipan ka tapa ka sam khia.
1“When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.
2Amaute a sap bang un, huchiin amau akipan a pai uh: Baalin kiangah a kithoih ua, lim gelhte kiangah gimlim a hal hi.
2They called to them, so they went from them. They sacrificed to the Baals, and burned incense to engraved images.
3Hinapiin Ephraim pai ka kisinsaka; ka banin amau ka poma; himahleh amau ka hihdam chih a theikei uh.
3Yet I taught Ephraim to walk. I took them by his arms; but they didn’t know that I healed them.
4Mihing khaujentein leh, itna guitein amau ka kaia; amau adin a muk tung uleh a muk nuai ua kipana hakkol lakkhiaksakte bang ka hia, a ma uah an ka lui hi.
4I drew them with cords of a man, with ties of love; and I was to them like those who lift up the yoke on their necks; and I bent down to him and I fed him.
5Aigupta gamah a kik nawn kei dinga; himahleh Assuria mi a kumpipa ahi ding, kik nawn a nial jiak un.
5“They won’t return into the land of Egypt; but the Assyrian will be their king, because they refused to repent.
6Huan, a khopite tungah namsau likin a om dia, a siktawnte a hulin, a negai ding, a thuhilhte uh ngei jiakin.
6The sword will fall on their cities, and will destroy the bars of their gates, and will put an end to their plans.
7Huchiin ka miten kei akipan nungtawn a tum chiltel uh; a mah tung sanga ompa sam mahle uh, kuamah mahin amah a liansak kei ding uh.
7My people are determined to turn from me. Though they call to the Most High, he certainly won’t exalt them.
8Ephraim, bangchiin ka hontawpsan dia? Israel, bangchiin kon tankhe dia? Admah bangin bangchiin ka honbawl dia? Zeboim bangin bangchiin ka honkoih dia? ka sungah ka lungtang a kilumleta, ka lainatnate toh a kuang khawm hi.
8“How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I make you like Zeboiim? My heart is turned within me, my compassion is aroused.
9Ka heh mahmahna ka suakkhe sak kei dinga, Ephraim hih se dingin ka kihei kei ding: mihing hi louin, Pathian lah ka hi ngala, nang laka Mi siangthou: khopi sungah ka lut kei ding.
9I will not execute the fierceness of my anger. I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of you; and I will not come in wrath.
10Humpinelkai banga humham ding, TOUPA deihdanin a om ding ua; humham ding lah ahi ngala, huchiin tumlam akipan tate lingkawmin a hongpai ding uh.
10They will walk after Yahweh, who will roar like a lion; for he will roar, and the children will come trembling from the west.
11Aigupta akipana vasa bangin lingkhawmin a hongpai ding ua, Assuria gam akipana vakhu bangin: huan a inte ua teng dingin amau ka bawl ding. TOUPAN a chi.Ephraimin juauthuin kei a honum suaka, Israel inkuan khemnain: himahleh Judain Pathian toh vaia hawm laia, Mi Siangthou lakah a ginom lai hi.
11They will come trembling like a bird out of Egypt, and like a dove out of the land of Assyria; and I will settle them in their houses,” says Yahweh.
12Ephraimin juauthuin kei a honum suaka, Israel inkuan khemnain: himahleh Judain Pathian toh vaia hawm laia, Mi Siangthou lakah a ginom lai hi.
12Ephraim surrounds me with falsehood, and the house of Israel with deceit. Judah still strays from God, and is unfaithful to the Holy One.
