Hosea

9

1Nuamsain kipak hen, aw Israel, mite bangin; Pathian akipanin kijuakin na omkhinta ngala, phual tung tengah goihman na itta hi.
1Don’t rejoice, Israel, to jubilation like the nations; for you were unfaithful to your God. You love the wages of a prostitute at every grain threshing floor.
2Phual leh uain suknaten amau a vak kei dinga, uain thakin amah a juausan ding.
2The threshing floor and the winepress won’t feed them, and the new wine will fail her.
3TOUPA gamah a teng kei ding ua; himahleh Ephraim Aigupta ah a kik ding, Assuria ah an sianglou a ne ding uh.
3They won’t dwell in Yahweh’s land; but Ephraim will return to Egypt, and they will eat unclean food in Assyria.
4TOUPA kiangah uain thillatte a sungkhe kei ding ua, amaha dingin lungkimhuai ahi sam kei ding uh: a kithoihnate uh amaua dingin sungmite tnaghou bang ahi ding; huai ne tengteng hihnitin a om ding uh: a tanghou uh lah a gilkialna uh ading ahi ngala; TOUPA in sungah a hongpai kei ding hi.
4They won’t pour out wine offerings to Yahweh, neither will they be pleasing to him. Their sacrifices will be to them like the bread of mourners; all who eat of it will be polluted; for their bread will be for their appetite. It will not come into the house of Yahweh.
5Kikhawmpi chik niin bang na hih ding ua, TOUPA ankuang lui niin?
5What will you do in the day of solemn assembly, and in the day of the feast of Yahweh?
6Ngai un, Assuria ah a pai ding uh; Aiguptain amau a khawm ding, Memphisin amau a vui ding. Dang kaa bawl a gou manphate uh lahouin a nei ding; a puaninte uah lingte a om ding.
6For, behold, they have gone away from destruction. Egypt will gather them up. Memphis will bury them. Nettles will possess their pleasant things of silver. Thorns will be in their tents.
7Vehna nite a hongtung, thukna nite a hongtung; Israelin a thei ding hi jawlnei mi hai ahi, kha nei mi hai ahi, na thuginatlouhna a tam mahmah jiakin, leh muhdahna a thupi jiakin.
7The days of visitation have come. The days of reckoning have come. Israel will consider the prophet to be a fool, and the man who is inspired to be insane, because of the abundance of your sins, and because your hostility is great.
8Ephraim Pathian galvilmi ahi; jawlnei tungtang a hihleh a lampi tengtengah thangkampa thang a oma, a Pathian in ah muhdahna.
8A prophet watches over Ephraim with my God. A fowler’s snare is on all of his paths, and hostility in the house of his God.
9Gibeah nitea bangin, nakpiin amau leh amau a kihihsia ua: a thulimlouhna uh a theigige dinga, a khelh nate uh a kan ding hi.
9They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah. He will remember their iniquity. He will punish them for their sins.
10Gamdaia grepte bangin Israel ka mua; theipi kung a hun masapenlaia min masa bangin na pipute uh ka muta; himahleh Baal-peor ah a hong ua, thil zumhuai lamah a kipumpiak ua, a thil it uh bang in kihhuai a honghita uh.
10I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness. I saw your fathers as the first ripe in the fig tree at its first season; but they came to Baal Peor, and consecrated themselves to the shameful thing, and became abominable like that which they loved.
11Ephraim a hihleh, vasa bangin a thupina uh a leng mang ding: pianna a om kei dinga, kuamah nau toh, naupaina toh.
11As for Ephraim, their glory will fly away like a bird. There will be no birth, none with child, and no conception.
12A tate uh khoi lian mahle uh, amau ka tansak dinga, pichinga hawi a om kei ding: ahi, amau akipana ka pai khiakna dingte tung leng a gik hi:
12Though they bring up their children, yet I will bereave them, so that not a man shall be left. Indeed, woe also to them when I depart from them!
13Ephraim, Tura ka muhsa bangin, mun nuama phuhin a om: himahleh Ephraimin a tate thatmi kiangah a honpi khe ding.
13I have seen Ephraim, like Tyre, planted in a pleasant place; but Ephraim will bring out his children to the murderer.
14Aw TOUPA amau piain; bang na pe dia? sul naupai theilou leh nawi kang.
14Give them—Yahweh what will you give? Give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.
15A gitlouhna tengteng uh Gilgal ah a om; huailaiah amau ka mudahta ngala; a thilhihte uh gitlouh jiakin ka in akipan amau ka delh khe ding: Ka it nawn kei dinga; a lalte tengteng uh mihel ahi uh.
15“All their wickedness is in Gilgal; for there I hated them. Because of the wickedness of their deeds I will drive them out of my house! I will love them no more. All their princes are rebels.
16Ephraim satin a om, a zung uh a keu, gah a suang kei ding uh; a jhi, suang mahleh uh, a sul gah it uh ka that himhim ding.Ka Pathianin amau a pai mang-dinga, amah a ngaihkhiak louh jiak uh; huchiin namte lakah vakvaiin a om ding uh.
16Ephraim is struck. Their root has dried up. They will bear no fruit. Even though they bring forth, yet I will kill the beloved ones of their womb.”
17Ka Pathianin amau a pai mang-dinga, amah a ngaihkhiak louh jiak uh; huchiin namte lakah vakvaiin a om ding uh.
17My God will cast them away, because they did not listen to him; and they will be wanderers among the nations.
