4

1Aw Israel, na hongkik leh, ka kiangah ngei na hongkik ding ahi, chih TOUPA thu pawt ahi. Na kihhuaina te ka mitmuh louha na koih manga, chih taktaka, thugel diktak zanga diktak taka;
1“If you will return, Israel,” says Yahweh, “if you will return to me, and if you will put away your abominations out of my sight; then you shall not be removed;
2TOUPA a hina a hin laiteng, chia na kichiam leh, namte amah ah nuamsa a kichi ding ua, amah a suangta ding uh;
2and you shall swear, ‘As Yahweh lives,’ in truth, in justice, and in righteousness. The nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.”
3Juda mite leh Jerusalem kiangah TOUPA Pathianin hichiin a chi hi: Na lei sit uh let unla, ling lakate chi theh kei un.
3For thus says Yahweh to the men of Judah and to Jerusalem, “Break up your fallow ground, and don’t sow among thorns.
4Nou Jud agama mi leh Jerusalema tengte aw, TOUPA adingin na zek uh sum unla, na lungtang zek uh sum un, huchilouin jaw na thil gilou hihte uh jiakin, ka hehna mei bangin a pawtkhe dinga, kuamah phelh theihlouhin a kang kha ding hi.
4Circumcise yourselves to Yahweh, and take away the foreskins of your heart, you men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem; lest my wrath go forth like fire, and burn so that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
5Juda gamah hilh unla, Jerusalem ah phuang un, Gam pumpi ah pengkul mut unla, ngaih takin kikou un. Hongkikhawm unla, kulhnei khopite ah I lut ding uh, chi un;
5Declare in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, ‘Blow the trumpet in the land!’ Cry aloud and say, ‘Assemble yourselves! Let us go into the fortified cities!’
6Zion lam ah puanjak khai unla, bitna zongin tai unla, zeol kei un, mallam a kipanthil hoihlou ka hon tungsak sin, nakpia siatna.
6Set up a standard toward Zion. Flee for safety! Don’t wait; for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.”
7Gammang nuai ningkitel akipanin humpineilkai a pawt hi, namte hihse ding; a mun akipan a pawtta, a hongpai lellel hi, nagam hihse ding leh na khopite tengmi neilou khopa sungawp dingin.
7A lion is gone up from his thicket, and a destroyer of nations; he is on his way, he is gone forth from his place, to make your land desolate, that your cities be laid waste, without inhabitant.
8Huaijiak takin saiip puan teng unla, kap unla, mau vongvong un; I lak ua kipanin TOUPA hehna thupi mahmah lah a kikai khe ngal kei a.
8For this clothe yourself with sackcloth, lament and wail; for the fierce anger of Yahweh hasn’t turned back from us.
9Huai ni chiangin hichi a honghi ding, chih TOUPA thu pawt ahi: kumpipa lungtang a lungke khin dinga, heutute lungtang leng; siamputen gen ding a theikei ding ua, jawlneiten lamdang a sa mahmah ding uh.
9“It shall happen at that day,” says Yahweh, “that the heart of the king shall perish, and the heart of the princes; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder.”
10Huan ken bel, Ah, Toupa Pathian, hiai mite leh Jerusalem nakpi taka khem nei ve, Muanna na nei ding uh, na chi a, namsauin hinna a sun zo ta hi, ka chi a.
10Then I said, “Ah, Lord Yahweh! Surely you have greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, ‘You shall have peace;’ whereas the sword reaches to the heart.”
11Huai hun chiangin hiai mite leh Jerusalem kiangah, Gamdai tang giau velvul akipan huih sa, Ka tanu, ka mite japsiang ding hi lou; siangsak ding hi sam lou;
11At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, “A hot wind from the bare heights in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to winnow, nor to cleanse;
12Huih hat lua, ka thuin a hongtung sin ahi: tuin leng a tung thu uh ngaihtuahpa kei ka hi, chih ahi ding.
12a full wind from these shall come for me. Now I will also utter judgments against them.”
13Ngai dih, a hongpai tou ding, meipi bangin, a kangtalai pingpei bangmaite; a sakolte muvanlai sangin a hatjaw uh, I tung gik na e! Buluha om I hive ua.
13Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as the whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe to us! For we are ruined.
14Aw Jerusalem, thulimlouhnaa kipan na lungtang silsiang inla, hotdama na om theihna dingin; bangtan ahia na ngaihtuahna gilou na pai ding?
14Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, that you may be saved. How long shall your evil thoughts lodge within you?
15Dan gam akipan aw a hongpawt khiaa, Ephraim tang a kipanin thil hoihlou a phuang hi.
15For a voice declares from Dan, and publishes evil from the hills of Ephraim:
16Namte hilh unla, Jerusalem ah phuang un, ngai dih, gam gamla pia kipan sualmite a hongtung uh, Juda khopite tungah a aw uh a suah uhi.
16“Tell the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, ‘Watchers come from a far country, and raise their voice against the cities of Judah.
17Louma vengmite bang main a kimvel in a um ua, ka tunga a hel jiak un chih TOUPA thu pawt ahi.
17As keepers of a field, they are against her all around, because she has been rebellious against me,’” says Yahweh.
18Na omdan leh na thilhihten, hiaite na tungah a tun ahi, hiai na siatna ding ahi, a na mahmaha na lungtang sun ei ve.
18“Your way and your doings have brought these things to you. This is your wickedness; for it is bitter, for it reaches to your heart.”
19Ka lung a na, ka lung a na, ka lungtang mahmah ah a na, ka sungah ka lungtang a buaikhin ta, ka om maimai theikei, aw ka hinna, pengkul ging, kidouna heiha na jak jiakin.
19My anguish, my anguish! I am pained at my very heart; my heart is disquieted in me; I can’t hold my peace; because you have heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.
20Siatna tungah siatna a tungta, gam pumpi lohin a om ta, ka puaninte a hihse guih ua, ka puanjakte leng mitphiat kal louin.
20Destruction on destruction is cried; for the whole land is laid waste: suddenly are my tents destroyed, and my curtains in a moment.
21Bangtan ahia kidouna puanjak ka muh dinga, pengkul ging ka jak ding?
21How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet?
22Ka mite a hai mahmah ua, lah a thei ngal kei ua, naupang hai tak, theihna neilou bang mai ahi uah, thil gilou hih a siam ua, thil hoih hihdan bel a siam kei uh.
22“For my people are foolish, they don’t know me. They are foolish children, and they have no understanding. They are skillful in doing evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.”
23Leitung ka et leh, ngai dih, segawp leh vuakin a oma; vanten leng vakna a neikei uh.
23I saw the earth, and, behold, it was waste and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.
24Tangte ka et leh, ngaiin, a ling uh, mual tengteng leng a tang jualjual uh.
24I saw the mountains, and behold, they trembled, and all the hills moved back and forth.
25Ka et leh, ngai in, mihing a om kei ua, tungleng vasate tengteng leng a leng mang khinta uh.
25I saw, and behold, there was no man, and all the birds of the sky had fled.
26Ka et leh, ngai in, louma hoihte gamdai a suak khina, khopi tengteng leng a chim khin, TOUPA leh a heh mahmahna maah.
26I saw, and behold, the fruitful field was a wilderness, and all its cities were broken down at the presence of Yahweh, before his fierce anger.
27TOUPAN hichiin a chi hi: Gam pumpi a segawp dinga, himahleh ka hihtawp tawntung kei ding.
27For thus says Yahweh, “The whole land shall be a desolation; yet will I not make a full end.
28Huaijiakin leiin a sun dinga, tunglam vante leng a mial ding: thu ka gentaa, ka tumta hi, ka kisik keia, ka lunghei sin sam kei.
28For this the earth will mourn, and the heavens above be black; because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and I have not repented, neither will I turn back from it.”
29Sakol tunga tuang leh thalpeu zangmite husa ah, khopi pumpi a taikek ua, gammang ah a lut ua, kho chih a nusia ua, luahmi khat lel leng om louin.
29Every city flees for the noise of the horsemen and archers; they go into the thickets, and climb up on the rocks: every city is forsaken, and not a man dwells therein.
30Huan, nang, loha na om hun chiangin bangchiin na hih dia? Puan san-au a kijemin, kivatna dangkaeng a kivanin, na mitte nuh za mahlechin, na kihihlawm thawn lel ahi, na tangvalten a honmusit thouthou ding ua, na hinna lak a tum uhi.Numei nauvei kikou husa bang ka jaa, ta chil neinu na thauk lai, Zion tanu nak huhu ging, a khutte jaka, Ka tung gik hina mai e! tualthatmite maah ka hinna a bah khinta, chi.
30You, when you are made desolate, what will you do? Though you clothe yourself with scarlet, though you deck you with ornaments of gold, though you enlarge your eyes with paint, in vain do you make yourself beautiful; your lovers despise you, they seek your life.
31Numei nauvei kikou husa bang ka jaa, ta chil neinu na thauk lai, Zion tanu nak huhu ging, a khutte jaka, Ka tung gik hina mai e! tualthatmite maah ka hinna a bah khinta, chi.
31For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, the anguish as of her who brings forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, who gasps for breath, who spreads her hands, saying, “Woe is me now! For my soul faints before the murderers.”
