1Huai thil nungin Judate ankuangluina a om a; Jesu Jerusalem khua ah a hoh tou a.
1After these things, there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2Huan, Jerusalem ah belam kongkhak kiangah dil a oma, huai tuh Hebru pauin Bethsaida a chi ua, inlim nga neia.
2Now in Jerusalem by the sheep gate, there is a pool, which is called in Hebrew, “Bethesda,” having five porches.
3Huai ah damloute, mittawte, khebaite, jawte tampi a lum phengphung ua, tui hongtat ngakin.
3In these lay a great multitude of those who were sick, blind, lame, or paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water;
4Bang chiang hiamin huai dil ah angel a hoh suk a, tui a vatok a; huchiin, kuapeuh huai tui a kitoh khita valut masa penpen tuh, bangchibang natna nei hileh leng hihdamin a om jel hi.
4for an angel went down at certain times into the pool, and stirred up the water. Whoever stepped in first after the stirring of the water was made whole of whatever disease he had.
5Huan, huaiah kum sawmthum leh giat damlou mi kuahiam a om a.
5A certain man was there, who had been sick for thirty-eight years.
6Huan, Jesun a lum tuh a mu a, huchi bangin sawtpi a omta chih a thei a, a kiangah, Hihdam na ut hia? a chi a.
6When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had been sick for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to be made well?”
7Huan, damloupan, Pu, tui kitohin dila honkoih ding mi ka neikei hi, ka hoh sungin mi dangin honmakhelh nak uh, achia, a dawng a.
7The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I’m coming, another steps down before me.”
8Huan, Jesun a kiangah, Thou inla, na awngphah la inla, khein paita in, a chi a.
8Jesus said to him, “Arise, take up your mat, and walk.”
9Huan, thakhatin huai mi tuh a dam pah a, a awngphah a la a, a paita hi.
9Immediately, the man was made well, and took up his mat and walked. Now it was the Sabbath on that day.
10Huai ni tuh Khawlni ahi, Huchiin Judaten a dampa kiangah, Khawlni ei ve, na awngphah na lak a siang kei, a chi ua.
10So the Jews said to him who was cured, “It is the Sabbath. It is not lawful for you to carry the mat.”
11Huan, aman a kiang uah, Honhihdampa ngeingeiin ka kiangah, Na awngphah la inla, khein paita in, honchi ahi, a chi a, a dawnga.
11He answered them, “He who made me well, the same said to me, ‘Take up your mat, and walk.’ ”
12Huan, amau a kiangah, Na awngphah la inla, khein paita in, na kianga chipa kua ahia? a chi ua, a dong ua.
12Then they asked him, “Who is the man who said to you, ‘Take up your mat, and walk’ ?”
13Himahleh, a dampan tuh kua ahia a hih a theikei a, huaia mipi a om jiak un Jesu a paimangta ngala.
13But he who was healed didn’t know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a crowd being in the place.
14Adenchiangin Jesun amah Pathian biakin ah a mu a, a kiangah, Ngaiin, na damta hi, khial nawnta ken, huchilou injaw thil hoihlou sem na tungah a hongom kha ding hi, a chi a.
14Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “Behold, you are made well. Sin no more, so that nothing worse happens to you.”
15Huan, huai mi tuh a vapai khia a, Judate kiangah a hihdampa Jesu ahi chih a hilh a.
15The man went away, and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.
16Huchiin, Khawlnia huai thil a hih jiakin Judaten Jesu a engbawl ua.
16For this cause the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to kill him, because he did these things on the Sabbath.
17Himahleh, Jesun amau a houpiha, a kiang uah, Ka Pan tutan phain leng na asem jel hi, ken leng ka sem jel, a chi a.
17But Jesus answered them, “My Father is still working, so I am working, too.”
18Huchiin, Judaten hihlup a tum semsem ua, Khawlni a tanlouh jiak kia leng ahi keia, Pathian amah Paa a bawl a, Pathian toh ki kima a kibawl jiakin leng ahi.
18For this cause therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the Sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God.
19Huan, Jesun a kiang uah, Chihtaktakin, chihtaktakin kon hilh ahi, Tapain amahin bangmah a hih theikei, Pa thil hih a muh kia lou ngal; thil a hih peuhmah, Tapain leng a hih sam jel ahi.
19Jesus therefore answered them, “Most certainly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father doing. For whatever things he does, these the Son also does likewise.
20Pain Tapa a ita, a thilhih peuhmah a kiangah a musak a; hiaite sanga thilhih thupijaw a kiangah a musak ding, lamdang na sak ding un.
20 For the Father has affection for the Son, and shows him all things that he himself does. He will show him greater works than these, that you may marvel.
21Pain misite a a kithou a, hinna a piak bangin, Tapa inleng a utnana kiangah hinna a pia.
21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom he desires.
22Pain kuamah vai a hawm sak ngei kei, vai tengteng Tapa a hawm sak zota;
22 For the Father judges no one, but he has given all judgment to the Son,
23mi tengtengin Pa zahna apiak bang un, Tapa leng zahna a piakna dingun. Kuapeuhmah Tapa zah lou ten jaw, Pa a sawlpa leng a zah kei uhi.
23 that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who doesn’t honor the Son doesn’t honor the Father who sent him.
24Chihtaktakin, chihtaktakin kon hilh ahi, Kuapeuh ka thu ja a, honsawlpa gingtain, khantawna hinna a nei; siamlouhin a om keia, sihnaa kipan a pawta, hinna ah a lut zota ahi.
24 “Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word, and believes him who sent me, has eternal life, and doesn’t come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
25Chihtaktakin, chihtaktakin kon hilh ahi, A hun a tung dekta, tuin leng a tung lellelta, huaihun chiangin misiten Pathian Tapa aw a za ding ua, a za peuhmah a hing ding uh.
25 Most certainly, I tell you, the hour comes, and now is, when the dead will hear the Son of God’s voice; and those who hear will live.
26Pain amaha hinna a nei bangin, Tapa leng amaha hinna neidingin a peta hi.
26 For as the Father has life in himself, even so he gave to the Son also to have life in himself.
27Huan, Mihing Tapa a hih jiakin, a kiangah thukhenvaihawmna thu a pia hi.
27 He also gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is a son of man.
28Hiai khawng lamdang sa kei un, a hun a tung dekta, huai hun chiangin han a om tengtengin a aw a za ding ua, a pawt vek ding uh;
28 Don’t marvel at this, for the hour comes, in which all that are in the tombs will hear his voice,
29thil hoih hihte tuh hinna tangin a thou nawn ding ua, thil gilou hihte tuh siam louh tangin a thou nawn ding uh.
29 and will come out; those who have done good, to the resurrection of life; and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.
30Keimahin bangmah ka hih theikei; bila kajak bangbangin vai ka hawm jel; ka vaihawm tuh a dik ahi, keimah thu thuin om ka tum keia, honsawlpa thuthu ja ua om ka tup jel jiakin.
30 I can of myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous; because I don’t seek my own will, but the will of my Father who sent me.
31Keimah tanchin theisak leng, ka thu theihsak a dik kei ding;
31 “If I testify about myself, my witness is not valid.
32ka tanchin theisak mi dang ahi, aman ka tanchin a theihsak tuh a dik chih ka thei hi.
32 It is another who testifies about me. I know that the testimony which he testifies about me is true.
33Nou Johan kiangah mi na sawl ua, huan, aman, thutak tanchin honna theisak hi.
33 You have sent to John, and he has testified to the truth.
34Thu theihsak ka san tuh mihing akipan ahi chihna ahi keia; himahleh na hinna ding un hiai thu tuh ka gen ahi.
34 But the testimony which I receive is not from man. However, I say these things that you may be saved.
35Huai Johan tuh khawnvak kuangtak leh vak tak ahi, a vakah nuamsak tak dih na ut uh.
35 He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light.
36Himahleh, theihsakna ka neihjaw Johan theihsakna thu sangin a thupi jaw ahi: Pain thil hih zoh dinga a honpiak, ka thil hih ngeiin Pain honsawl chih ka tanchin a theisak hi.
36 But the testimony which I have is greater than that of John, for the works which the Father gave me to accomplish, the very works that I do, testify about me, that the Father has sent me.
37Pa honsawlpan leng ka tanchin a theisakta. Nou chiklai mahin a aw na za ngei kei ua, a mel leng na mu ngei sam kei uh.
37 The Father himself, who sent me, has testified about me. You have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form.
38A thu leng noumau ah na pai kei uh, a sawlpa na gintak louh jiakun.
38 You don’t have his word living in you; because you don’t believe him whom he sent.
39Laisiangthou na phat sim ua, a sunga khantawna hinna oma na gintak jiakun: huai laisiangthou tuh ka tanchin theihpihna lah ahi ngala.
39 “You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about me.
40Himahleh, hinna nei dingin ka kiangah na hong nuam ngal kei uh.
40 Yet you will not come to me, that you may have life.
41Mihing pahtawina ka sang kei.
41 I don’t receive glory from men.
42Himahleh nou kon thei hi, Pathian itna noumau ah na neikei uhi.
42 But I know you, that you don’t have God’s love in yourselves.
43Ka Pa minin ka honga, nouten non kipahpih kei uh: mi dang amah minin hong leh, amah na kipahpih ding uhi.
43 I have come in my Father’s name, and you don’t receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him.
44Nou kipahtawi tuahna paktate aw, bangchin na gingta thei ding ua? Pathian tak kiaa pawt pahtawina lah na zong kei ua.
44 How can you believe, who receive glory from one another, and you don’t seek the glory that comes from the only God?
45Ken Pa kianga nou kon hek ding gingta kei un: nou honhek khat a om, na muan uh Mosi ngei.
45 “Don’t think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you, even Moses, on whom you have set your hope.
46Mosi na gingta hile-uchin kei leng hongingta ta ding hi uchina; aman ka tanchin ahi a gelh.Himahleh, a thu gelh lah na gingta ngal kei ua, bangchin ka thu na gingta ding ua? a chi a.
46 For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote about me.
47Himahleh, a thu gelh lah na gingta ngal kei ua, bangchin ka thu na gingta ding ua? a chi a.
47 But if you don’t believe his writings, how will you believe my words?”
