Lamentations

3

1A hehna chianga gimthuakna mu mipa ka hi.
1I am the man that has seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
2Khovak ah hilouin khovela aman a honpi a, a honvak sak.
2He has led me and caused me to walk in darkness, and not in light.
3Ni tumtumin ka siatna dingin a khut a hei ahei petmah hi.
3Surely against me he turns his hand again and again all the day.
4Ka sa leh ka vun a upa saka; ka guhte a kitansak.
4My flesh and my skin has he made old; he has broken my bones.
5Ka siatna dingin a lama, khatna leh nauveinain a honum suak hia.
5He has built against me, and surrounded me with gall and travail.
6Sawtpia sisate bangin, mun mialte ah a honteng saka.
6He has made me to dwell in dark places, as those that have been long dead.
7Ka pawt khiak theihlouhna dingin, ka kimvelin dai a kaia, ka khainiang a gik hi.
7He has walled me about, that I can’t go forth; he has made my chain heavy.
8A hi, ka kaha, panpihna ka nget laiin, ka thumna a daltan.
8Yes, when I cry, and call for help, he shuts out my prayer.
9Suang sekin ka lampite dai a kaitou peka, ka lam zuihte a kawisak hi.
9He has walled up my ways with cut stone; he has made my paths crooked.
10Kei dingin amah vompi mibuk bang, mun guka humpinelkai bang ahi.
10He is to me as a bear lying in wait, as a lion in secret places.
11Ka lampite a kaiheia, a honbot nena; a hon bawlgawp hi.
11He has turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces; he has made me desolate.
12A thalpeu a laia, a thal adia ngimding bangin kei a honbawl.
12He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
13A thalbawma thalte ka sisan guijamah a lut saka.
13He has caused the shafts of his quiver to enter into my kidneys.
14Ka mite tengteng nuihsat ka honghia; ni tumtuma a la uh.
14I am become a derision to all my people, and their song all the day.
15Hehnain a hondim sak ua, gamsaiin a honvak.
15He has filled me with bitterness, he has sated me with wormwood.
16Suang tangin ka hate leng a kitamsak a, vutin a hontuam hi.
16He has also broken my teeth with gravel stones; he has covered me with ashes.
17Muanna akipan gamla piah ka kha na suana; hauhsakna ka mangngilhta.
17You have removed my soul far off from peace; I forgot prosperity.
18Ka hatna a manga, TOUPA akipan ka lametna, ka chi a.
18I said, My strength is perished, and my expectation from Yahweh.
19Ka gimthuakna leh ka haksatna, gamsai leh khatna theigigein.
19Remember my affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
20Ka khain amaute a theigige lailaia ka sungah a kun ngiungiau hi.
20My soul still remembers them, and is bowed down within me.
21Hiai ka thei thaka, huaijiakin lametna ka nei.
21This I recall to my mind; therefore have I hope.
22TOUPA chitnate jiak ahi hihmanga i om louhna uh, lainatnate a juau ngei louh jiakin.

29Let him put his mouth in the dust, if so be there may be hope.
30Amah bengpa kiangah a biang doh hen; kounain amah dim vum hen.
30Let him give his cheek to him who strikes him; let him be filled full with reproach.
