¹Huan dil piau ah thu a hilh nawnta a. Huan mipi hon tampi tak a kiangah a hongkikhawm ua, huchiin, dil ah longah a tuanga, a tu a, mipi hon tengteng tuh dil piau a leitung ah a om ua.

¹Again he began to teach by the seaside. A great multitude was gathered to him, so that he entered into a boat in the sea, and sat down. All the multitude were on the land by the sea.

²Huan, gentehna thuin thil tampi a hilh a; a thuhilhna ah a kiang uah,

²He taught them many things in parables, and told them in his teaching,

³Ngai khia unla, en dih ua; buhchithehpa buhchi theh dingin a kuan a.

³ “Listen! Behold, the farmer went out to sow,

⁴Huan, hichi a honghi a, a theh laiin a khen lampi sikah a kia a, vasaten a nezota ua.

⁴ and it happened, as he sowed, some seed fell by the road, and the birds TR adds “of the air” came and devoured it.

⁵Huan, a khen suangsi lei lakah a kia a; lei a sah louh jiakin a pou pah

⁵ Others fell on the rocky ground, where it had little soil, and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of soil.

⁶Himahleh, ni a hong suahin haivuaiin a hongoma, zung a neih louh jiakin a vuai mangta mai hi.

⁶ When the sun had risen, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

⁷Huan, akhen loulingnei lakah a kia a, loupa tuh a hongkhang sanga, a depmangta a, gah himhim a gahta kei hi.

⁷ Others fell among the thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.

⁸Huan, a khen lei hoih ah a kia a, a pou a, a khangliana, a gahta a; a leh sawmthum khawng, a leh sawmguk khawng, aleh ja khawngin a pung chiatta uh, a chi a.

⁸ Others fell into the good ground, and yielded fruit, growing up and increasing. Some brought forth thirty times, some sixty times, and some one hundred times as much.”

⁹Huan, amahmahin, Kuapeuh jakna ding a bil neiin ja uheh, a chi a.

⁹He said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.”

¹⁰Huan, a tang om laiin a kima omten sawm leh nihte toh gentehna thu tuh a dong chian ua.

¹⁰When he was alone, those who were around him with the twelve asked him about the parables.

¹¹Huan, aman tuh akiang uah, Pathian gam thuguk jaw noute kianga piak ahi a, po lam mite a dingin bel bangkim gentehnaa gen ahi; huchiin.

¹¹He said to them, “To you is given the mystery of the Kingdom of God, but to those who are outside, all things are done in parables,

¹²Muh jaw a mu thei na ua, theihsiam jaw a theisiam louhna ding un; huchilou injaw a kihei nawn ding ua, ngaihdam a honghi kha ding uh, a chi a.

¹² that ‘seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest perhaps they should turn again, and their sins should be forgiven them.’” Isaiah 6:9-10

¹³Huan, amahmahin, a kiang uah, Hiai gentehna thu na theisiam kei umaw? Huchi ahihin bangchin gentehna thu dang tengtengte na theisiam tuan ding ua?

¹³He said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? How will you understand all of the parables?

¹⁴Buhchithehpan thu a theh ahi.

¹⁴ The farmer sows the word.

¹⁵Huan, lam sika thu thehnate tuh hiai bang ahi uh; thu a jak tak un Setanin a lungtang ua thu theh tuh a laksak pahpah a.

¹⁵ The ones by the road are the ones where the word is sown; and when they have heard, immediately Satan comes, and takes away the word which has been sown in them.

¹⁶Huan, huchibangmahin suangsi leitunga theh tuh hiai-te ahi uh; thu a jak phet ua kipak taka pom pahte bang

¹⁶ These in the same way are those who are sown on the rocky places, who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with joy.

¹⁷himahleh amau ah zung himhim a neikei ua, sawt lou chik kia a om uh; huai nungin thu jiaka gimthuakna hiam sawina hiam a hongom phetin a kipukpah pah uhi.

¹⁷ They have no root in themselves, but are short-lived. When oppression or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they stumble.

¹⁸Huan, mi dangte tuh loulingnei laka theh ahi uh; huaiten tuh thu a zata ua

¹⁸ Others are those who are sown among the thorns. These are those who have heard the word,

¹⁹himahleh khovel lungkhamnate, thil dang duhgawlnate a honglut chiangin, thu a dep a, gah louin a om nak.

¹⁹ and the cares of this age, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

²⁰Huan, lei hoiha tuh bel hiaite ahi uh; thu ja a, poma, a leh sawmthum khawng, a leh sawmguk khawng, a leh ja khawnga gahte ahi uh, a chi a.

²⁰ Those which were sown on the good ground are those who hear the word, and accept it, and bear fruit, some thirty times, some sixty times, and some one hundred times.”

²¹Huan, amahmahin, a kiang uah, Khawnvak a koihnaa koih lou a, loh nuai hiam, lupna nuai hiam a koih dingin a honla ngei ua hia?

²¹He said to them, “Is the lamp brought to be put under a basket literally, a modion, a dry measuring basket containing about a peck (about 9 litres) or under a bed? Isn’t it put on a stand?

²²Thang lou dinga im bangmah a om ngei keia, langlou dinga sel bangmah a om sam kei.

²² For there is nothing hidden, except that it should be made known; neither was anything made secret, but that it should come to light.

²³Kuapeuhin jakna dinga bil a neih uleh ja uheh, a chi a.

²³ If any man has ears to hear, let him hear.”

²⁴Huan, amahmahin, a kiang uah, Na jak uh bang ahia, pilvang un; na tehna ngei mah ua piakin na om ding ua, a tam jaw bawn piakin na om ding uh.

²⁴He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you, and more will be given to you who hear.

²⁵Kuapeuh a nei tuh piak behlap in om ding ua, kuapeuh a neilou tuh a neih sun nangawn laksak in om ding uh, a chi a.

²⁵ For whoever has, to him will more be given, and he who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.”

²⁶Huan, a mahmahin, Pathian gam tuh min leia chi a tuh bang ahi.

²⁶He said, “The Kingdom of God is as if a man should cast seed on the earth,

²⁷Jan chiangin a ihmu a, sun chiangin a thou jela; chi tuh ana pouin ana khanga, himahleh bangchi a pou a bangchi a khang ahia chih a theikei.

²⁷ and should sleep and rise night and day, and the seed should spring up and grow, he doesn’t know how.

²⁸Leiin amahin gah a honsuah jela; A masapenin a kung, huan, a vui, huan, a vui ah a tang.

²⁸ For the earth bears fruit: first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear.

²⁹Himahleh, huai a gah a hongmin chiangin, buh lak a hun tak jiakin, kaite in atpah hi, a chi a.

²⁹ But when the fruit is ripe, immediately he puts forth the sickle, because the harvest has come.”

³⁰Huan, amahmahin, Pathian gam tuh bangtoh i tehpih dia? ahihkeileh, bang gentehna thin ahia i genteh ding?

³⁰He said, “How will we liken the Kingdom of God? Or with what parable will we illustrate it?

³¹Ankam chi tang khat leia a tuh un, leia chi tengteng sangin neupen mahleh,

³¹ It’s like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, though it is less than all the seeds that are on the earth,

³²a tuh nung un a hongpou a, loupa tengteng sangin a honglianzota a, hiang lian taktak a honnei a, huchiin tungleng vasate tuh a lim ah a giak uhi, huchi bangmah ahi, a chi a.

³² yet when it is sown, grows up, and becomes greater than all the herbs, and puts out great branches, so that the birds of the sky can lodge under its shadow.”

³³Huan, huchi bang gentehna thu tampiin, a jak theih khomkhom un, thu a kiang uah a gen jel a.

³³With many such parables he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear it.

³⁴Himahleh, gentehna lou in a kiang uah thu a gen ngei kei; amah nungjuite kiangah tuh a simin bangkim a hilhchian jel hi.

³⁴Without a parable he didn’t speak to them; but privately to his own disciples he explained everything.

³⁵Huan, huai ni mahin, nitaklam a honghihin, aman, a kiang uah Gal khat lam i kai ding uh, a chi a.

³⁵On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let’s go over to the other side.”

³⁶Huchiin, mipite pai sanin, amah, a om ngeingei bangin, long ah a paipih pah ngal ua, Long dangte leng a kiangah a om hi.

³⁶Leaving the multitude, they took him with them, even as he was, in the boat. Other small boats were also with him.

³⁷Huan, huihpi thupitak a hongnung a, tuikihawtte tuh longah a hongkihawt lut juajua a, huchiin long a hong dim dek maimah a,

³⁷A big wind storm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so much that the boat was already filled.

³⁸huan, amah tuh, lukham khama ihmuin, long mei lamah a oma. Huan, a phawng ua, a kiangah, Heutupa, ka manthat uh khawksa lou na hi maw? a chi ua

³⁸He himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion, and they woke him up, and told him, “Teacher, don’t you care that we are dying?”

³⁹Huan, amah hongkhanglouta a, huih tuh a taia, dil kiangah leng, Dai inla, om kinken in, achia, Huan, huih tuh a tawpta a, a hong dai dide maimah.

³⁹He awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” The wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

⁴⁰Huan, aman, a kiang uah, Bangchi a hichi tela lau na hi ua oi? Ginna himhim nei nai lou na hi umaw? a chi a.Huan, lau petmahin a lau ua, Hiai mi kua ahia le, huih leh dil nangawnin a thu aman uh? a kichi khiukheu uh.

⁴⁰He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? How is it that you have no faith?”

⁴¹Huan, lau petmahin a lau ua, Hiai mi kua ahia le, huih leh dil nangawnin a thu aman uh? a kichi khiukheu uh.

⁴¹They were greatly afraid, and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”
