13

1Mi chih a tung ua vaihawmte thuthuin om heh. Pathian thu louin kuamah vaihawm a om ngal kei ua; vaihawmmi-a omte Pathian seh ahi uh.
1Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God.
2Huaijiakin, kuapeuh vaihawmmi sel tuh Pathian seh kalh ahi; a selten amau tungah vaihawmna a mu ding uhi.
2Therefore he who resists the authority, withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment.
3Vaihawmmite thil hoih hihte dingin kihtakhuai ahi kei uhi; thil hoihlou hihte dingin bel kihtakhuai ahi uhi. Ahihleh, vaihawmmi kihtaloua om na ut uhia? Thil hoih hih le uchin a phat na loh ding uh;
3For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Do you desire to have no fear of the authority? Do that which is good, and you will have praise from the same,
4Amah tuh na hoihna dingua Pathian nasemmi ahi ngala. Himahleh, kihta un. temsau lah a mawk tawi ngal keia; amah Pathian nasemmi, thil hihkhial tunga heha phulami ahi ngal a.
4for he is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he doesn’t bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil.
5Huaijiakin, Pathian hehna kihtakna jiak kia hilouin, na sia leh pha theihna jiakun leng vaihawmmi thuthuin na om ding him uh ahi.
5Therefore you need to be in subjection, not only because of the wrath, but also for conscience’ sake.
6Hiai jiakin siah leng na liau jel ve ua leh; huchibang thil ngei hih teitei dingin Pathian nasemmite ahi ngal ua.
6For this reason you also pay taxes, for they are servants of God’s service, attending continually on this very thing.
7Mi tengteng kiangah piak ding peuhmah pia un; leiman piakna dingpa kiangah leiman pia unla, siah liauna dingpa kiangah siah liau unla; kihtak dingpa leng kihta unla; zahtak dingpa leng zahtak un.
7Give therefore to everyone what you owe: taxes to whom taxes are due; customs to whom customs; respect to whom respect; honor to whom honor.
8Kiittuahna loungal, kuamah bangmah ba kei un; amau mihinpih itpan dan a jui kimta ngal a.
8Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
9Hiaite, Angkawm ken, Tualthat ken, Gu ken, Eng ken chih leh, thupiak dang om nalai himhimte, Nangmah na kiit bangin na invengte na it ding hi, chihin a khaikhawm vek ngala.
9For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not give false testimony,” “You shall not covet,” TR adds “You shall not give false testimony,” and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
10Itna in innvengte a hihse ngeikei a; huaijiakin itna jaw dan zuih kimna ahi.
10Love doesn’t harm a neighbor. Love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.
11Huailou –in, tu bang hun ahia chih na thei ua, ihmu khanloh a hun mahmahta chih na thei uh. Tun jaw i gintak tung lai sangin i hotdamna a nai zota ngala;
11Do this, knowing the time, that it is already time for you to awaken out of sleep, for salvation is now nearer to us than when we first believed.
12Jan a bei dekdektaa, khua a vak dekta hi; huaijiakin miala thil hihte paiin vak thuamin i kithuam ding uh.
12The night is far gone, and the day is near. Let’s therefore throw off the works of darkness, and let’s put on the armor of light.
13Sun-a om bangin kilawm takin i om ding uh, zu dawn buai leh zu khama om louin, huk leh kingaihhata om louin, kilai leh kihajaa om louin.Toupa Jesu Krisin kithuam jaw inla, na sa duhgawlna uh pichin dingin bangmah kibawl kei un.
13Let us walk properly, as in the day; not in reveling and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and lustful acts, and not in strife and jealousy.
14Toupa Jesu Krisin kithuam jaw inla, na sa duhgawlna uh pichin dingin bangmah kibawl kei un.
14But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, for its lusts.
