7

1Ahihleh, unaute aw, danin mi a dam sung teng a tungah vai a hawm nak chih na theikei ua hia? – dan thei mite kiangah ka gen ahi.
1Or don’t you know, brothers (for I speak to men who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man for as long as he lives?
2Numei, pasal nei a pasal a dam sung teng dana a pasala henkhawmin a om ahi; himahleh, a sihin, pasal lamah dan akipan khahin a om ahi.
2For the woman that has a husband is bound by law to the husband while he lives, but if the husband dies, she is discharged from the law of the husband.
3Hichiin, a pasal dam sunga mi dang a kitenpih leh, Angkawm, chih ahi ding hi; a pasal a sihin bel huai dan akipan khahin a oma, huchiin, mi dang nei leh leng angkawm ahi kei hi.
3So then if, while the husband lives, she is joined to another man, she would be called an adulteress. But if the husband dies, she is free from the law, so that she is no adulteress, though she is joined to another man.
4Huan, ka unaute aw, Pathian lama i gah theihna dingin midang, misi laka kipan kaihthoh ngeingei na kitenpih theihna ding un, Kris pumpi pansanin dan lamah hihsihin na omta uhi.
4Therefore, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you would be joined to another, to him who was raised from the dead, that we might bring forth fruit to God.
5Sa a i om lai un dan jiaka khelhna utna hongsuakten, i sa hiangte ah, sihna khopa gah dingin, a sem naka.
5For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law, worked in our members to bring forth fruit to death.
6Tuin bel honlenpa lakah sikhinin, dan akipan khahin i omta, laigelh lui bang lel hi loua, Khaa hinna thaka na i sep theihna dingin.
6But now we have been discharged from the law, having died to that in which we were held; so that we serve in newness of the spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.
7Bang i genta dia leh? Dan khelhna hia? Hi lou hial. Himahleh, dan jiaka theih hi keileh, khelhna theilou ding hi ing a; danin, eng ken, chi kei leh, eng chih theilou ding hi inga.
7What shall we say then? Is the law sin? May it never be! However, I wouldn’t have known sin, except through the law. For I wouldn’t have known coveting, unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.”
8Himahleh, khelhnain, thupiak jiakin, lemtan lai muin enna chiteng ka sungah a om saka.
8But sin, finding occasion through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of coveting. For apart from the law, sin is dead.
9Dan lou injaw khelhna si ahi. Huan, tumalamin kei dan louin ka hinga; himahleh thupiak a hongom takin khelhna a honghalh a, kei ka sita hi.
9I was alive apart from the law once, but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
10Huan, hinna thuchiam nei thupiak tuh keidin sihna a honghi chih ka na theita.
10The commandment, which was for life, this I found to be for death;
11Khelhnain thupiak jiakin, lemtan lai muin honkhema, thupiak zangin a honhihlumta hi.
11for sin, finding occasion through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me.
12Huchiin, dan tuh a siangthou ahi, thupiak leng a siangthou a, adika, a hoih ahi.
12Therefore the law indeed is holy, and the commandment holy, and righteous, and good.
13Ahihleh, thil hoih keia din sihna a honghi ahia? Hilou hial. Khelhna kei sin sihna a honghi zo ta ahi. Huchiin, khelhna tuh khelhna ahi chih a lat theihna dingin thil hoih zangin a honhihlum ahi; thupiak jiaka khelhna tuh khelhna thupitak a honghih theihna dingin.
13Did then that which is good become death to me? May it never be! But sin, that it might be shown to be sin, by working death to me through that which is good; that through the commandment sin might become exceeding sinful.
14Dan tuh khalam thil ahi chih i thei ngal ua, kei bel sami khelhna a khotsa ka hi.
14For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am fleshly, sold under sin.
15Thil ka hihpen, a dan ka theikei; ka thil hih jelpen, ka thihih utlam ahi ngal keia, ka thil huatlam tak ka hih zo nak ahi.
15For I don’t know what I am doing. For I don’t practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do.
16Ka hih ut louh lam ka hih ngalin, dan a hoih chih pompih ka hi ta hi.
16But if what I don’t desire, that I do, I consent to the law that it is good.
17Huaichiangin, ka thilhihpen keimah hih a hita keia, khelhna keimaha om hih ahi jaw hi.
17So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me.
18Keimah ah, huai tuh ka sa ah, thil hoih himhim a teng kei chih ka thei: thil hoih hih utna jaw keimah ah a om na a, thil hoih ka hihthei kei.
18For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don’t find it doing that which is good.
19Hoihna hih ka ut pen ka hih keia, khelhna hih ka ut louhpen, ka hih zo naka.
19For the good which I desire, I don’t do; but the evil which I don’t desire, that I practice.
20Ka utlouh lam pen ka hih ngal chiangin, a hihpa tuh kei ka hita keia, khelhna keimaha ompen ahi jaw hi.
20But if what I don’t desire, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me.
21Huchiin, hiai dan ka hontheita; thil hoih hih ka ut laiin gitlouhna ka kiangah a hongom nak ahi.
21I find then the law, that, to me, while I desire to do good, evil is present.
22Ka lungsim taktakin Pathian dan tungah ka kipak ngal naka;
22For I delight in God’s law after the inward man,
23Himahleh, ka sa hiangte ah dan tuam a om chih ka thei, huaiin ka lungsim dan a dou a, ka sa hiangtea khelhna dan om kiangah salin a honpi nak hi.
23but I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin which is in my members.
24Mi genthei hina lawmlawm ing e! Hiai sihna pumpi lakah kuan ahia honsuakta sak ding?Jesu Kris i Toupa jiakin Pathian kiangah kipahthu ka gen ahi. Huchiin, keimah takin jaw ka lungsimin Pathian dan ka sema, ka sain tuh gitlouhna dan a sem hi.
24What a wretched man I am! Who will deliver me out of the body of this death?
25Jesu Kris i Toupa jiakin Pathian kiangah kipahthu ka gen ahi. Huchiin, keimah takin jaw ka lungsimin Pathian dan ka sema, ka sain tuh gitlouhna dan a sem hi.
25I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord! So then with the mind, I myself serve God’s law, but with the flesh, the sin’s law.
