¹ خداوند به من فرمود:

¹And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

² «ای انسان فانی، علیه رهبران اسرائیل نبوّت کن و به ایشان یعنی به شبانان بگو خداوند متعال می‌فرماید: ای شبانان اسرائیل که خود را تغذیه می‌کنید، آیا شبانان نباید گوسفندان را خوراک دهید؟

²Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy; and say unto them, unto the shepherds, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the shepherds of Israel that feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flock?

³ شیر را می‌نوشید و پشم را می‌پوشید و گوسفندان پروار را می‌کشید، امّا به گوسفندان خوراک نمی‌دهید.

³Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool; ye kill them that are fattened: [but] ye feed not the flock.

⁴ از ضعیفان مراقبت نکرده‌اید، بیماران را درمان نکرده‌اید، زخم زخمی‌شدگان را نبسته‌اید، آوارگان را بازنگردانیده‌اید، به دنبال گمشدگان نرفته‌اید، بلکه با زور و خشونت با آنها رفتار کرده‌اید.

⁴The weak have ye not strengthened, nor have ye healed the sick, and ye have not bound up [what was] broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought for that which was lost; but with harshness and with rigour have ye ruled over them.

⁵ پس آنها پراکنده شدند زیرا شبانی نبود و طعمهٔ حیوانات وحشی شدند.

⁵And they were scattered because there was no shepherd; and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, and were scattered.

⁶ گوسفندان من پراکنده شدند و در همهٔ کوهها و همهٔ تپّه‌ها سرگردان گشتند. گوسفندان من در سراسر زمین پراکنده شدند و کسی نبود که به جستجوی آنها برود یا آنها را پیدا کند.

⁶My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill, and my sheep have been scattered upon all the face of the earth, and there was none that searched, or that sought for them.

⁷ «بنابراین ای شبانان، کلام خداوند را بشنوید:

⁷Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of Jehovah:

⁸ به حیات خودم سوگند، چون گوسفندان من شکار شده‌اند و خوراک حیوانات وحشی شده‌اند زیرا شبانی نبود و به دلیل اینکه شبانان من به جستجوی گوسفندانم نرفته‌اند و خود را خوراک داده‌اند، و نه گوسفندان را،

⁸[As] I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, verily because my sheep have been a prey, and my sheep have been meat to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, and my shepherds searched not for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock,

⁹ بنابراین ای گوسفندان، کلام خداوند را بشنوید:

⁹-- therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of Jehovah.

¹⁰ من، خداوند متعال چنین می‌گویم: اینک من علیه شبانان هستم و گوسفندان خود را از دست ایشان خواستارم. خوراک دادن ایشان به گوسفندان را پایان می‌دهم، دیگر شبانان خود را تغذیه نخواهند کرد. من گوسفندان خود را از دهان شبانان نجات خواهم داد تا برای ایشان خوراک نشوند.

¹⁰Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my sheep at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock: that the shepherds may feed themselves no more; and I will deliver my sheep from their mouth, that they may not be food for them.

¹¹ «من خداوند متعال، خودم به جستجوی گوسفندانم می‌پردازم و از آنها مواظبت خواهم نمود.

¹¹For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold I, [even] I, will both search for my sheep, and tend them.

¹² همان‌گونه که شبانان از گوسفندان خودشان مراقبت می‌کنند و آنها را که پراکنده شده‌اند، دوباره دور هم جمع می‌کنند. من آنها را از تمام مکانهایی که در آن روز مصیبت‌بار پراکنده شده‌اند، به دور هم جمع می‌کنم.

¹²As a shepherd tendeth his flock in the day that he is among his scattered sheep, so will I tend my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places whither they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.

¹³ من ایشان را از سرزمین بیگانه بیرون خواهم آورد و گرد هم می‌آورم و به سرزمین خود بازمی‌گردانم. من ایشان را به سوی کوهها و جویبارهای اسرائیل رهبری خواهم کرد و در چراگاههای نیکو خواهم چرانید.

¹³And I will bring them out from the peoples, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land; and I will feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the water-courses, and in all the habitable places of the country.

¹⁴ آنها را در چراگاههای نیکو خواهم چراند و بلندترین کوههای اسرائیل چراگاه ایشان خواهد بود. آنجا در چراگاه نیکو خواهند آرامید و در چراگاه حاصلخیز در کوههای اسرائیل خواهند چرید.

¹⁴I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie down in a good fold, and in a fat pasture they shall feed upon the mountains of Israel.

¹⁵ من خودم شبان گوسفندانم خواهم بود و مکانی برای استراحت آنان پیدا خواهم نمود. من، خداوند متعال چنین گفته‌ام.

¹⁵I will myself feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord Jehovah.

¹⁶ «به جستجوی گمشدگان خواهم رفت و آوارگان را باز خواهم آورد، زخمی‌شدگان را درمان می‌کنم و ناتوانان را نیرو می‌بخشم ولی فربهان و زورآوران را نابود خواهم کرد. من ایشان را با عدالت شبانی خواهم کرد.

¹⁶I will seek the lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up the broken, and will strengthen that which was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the strong: I will feed them with judgment.

¹⁷ «امّا من، خداوند متعال، به شما ای گلّهٔ من، چنین می‌گویم: من در میان گوسفند خوب و بد و در میان قوچها و بُزهای نر داوری خواهم کرد.

¹⁷And as for you, my flock, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I judge between sheep and sheep, between the rams and the he-goats.

¹⁸ آیا برای شما کافی نیست که در چراگاه نیکو چرا کنید، آیا باید بقیّهٔ چراگاه را با سُمهای خود ویران کنید و هنگامی‌که از آب زلال می‌خورید باید بقیّهٔ آب را با سُمهای خود گل آلود کنید؟

¹⁸Is it too small a thing unto you to have eaten up the good pastures, but ye must tread down with your feet the rest of your pastures; and to have drunk of the settled waters, but ye must foul the rest with your feet?

¹⁹ آیا باید گوسفندان دیگر من، آنچه را شما لگدمال کرده‌اید، بخورند و آبی را که گل آلود کرده‌اید بنوشند؟

¹⁹And my sheep have to eat that which ye have trodden with your feet, and to drink that which ye have fouled with your feet.

²⁰ «بنابراین من، خداوند متعال به آنها چنین می‌گویم: من خودم بین گوسفندان چاق و لاغر داوری خواهم کرد.

²⁰Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah unto them: Behold, [it is] I, and I will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep.

²¹ چون شما ناتوانان را کنار زده‌ و از گلّه جدا نموده‌اید و ناتوانان را با شاخ خود زده‌اید و آنها را پراکنده ساخته‌اید.

²¹Because ye thrust with side and with shoulder, and push all the weak ones with your horns, till ye have scattered them abroad,

²² من گلّه خود را نجات خواهم داد تا دیگر مورد ستم قرار نگیرد و من بین گوسفند خوب و بد داوری خواهم کرد.

²²-- I will save my flock, that they may no more be a prey; and I will judge between sheep and sheep.

²³ برای آنها شبانی برمی‌گزینم، مانند بنده‌ام داوود و او آنها را خواهد چرانید. او آنها را خواهد چرانید و شبان آنها خواهد بود.

²³And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David: he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.

²⁴ من خداوند، خدای آنها خواهم بود و شخصی مانند داوود بندهٔ من فرماندهٔ آنها. من، خداوند چنین می‌گویم.

²⁴And I Jehovah will be their God, and my servant David a prince in their midst: I Jehovah have spoken [it].

²⁵ من با آنها پیمان صلح خواهم بست و حیوانات وحشی را از سرزمین ایشان دور خواهم کرد تا با امنیّت در صحرا زیست کنند و در جنگل بخوابند.

²⁵And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause evil beasts to cease out of the land; and they shall dwell in safety in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.

²⁶ «من آنها را برکت خواهم داد و اجازه خواهم داد در اطراف کوه مقدّس من زندگی کنند و باران را در موسمش خواهم بارانید و بارشهای برکت خواهد بود.

²⁶And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in its season: there shall be showers of blessing.

²⁷ درختان کشتزار میوه خواهند داد و زمین محصول فراوان خواهد داد و ایشان در زمین خود در امان خواهند بود. هنگامی‌که میله‌های یوغ ایشان را بشکنم و از دست کسانی‌که ایشان را بَرده کرده‌اند برهانم، خواهند دانست که من خداوند هستم.

²⁷And the tree of the field shall yield its fruit, and the earth shall yield its increase; and they shall be in safety in their land, and shall know that I [am] Jehovah, when I have broken the bands of their yoke and delivered them out of the hand of those that kept them in servitude.

²⁸ ایشان دیگر در میان ملّتهای بیگانه به تاراج نخواهند رفت و حیوانات وحشی ایشان را نخواهند خورد. ایشان در امنیّت زندگی خواهند کرد و هیچ‌کس ایشان را نخواهد ترساند.

²⁸And they shall no more be a prey to the nations, neither shall the beast of the earth devour them; but they shall dwell in safety, and none shall make them afraid.

²⁹ برای ایشان کشتزارهای حاصلخیز آماده خواهم کرد تا دیگر در آن سرزمین از گرسنگی نابود نشوند و دیگر سایر ملّتها به آنها اهانت نخواهند کرد.

²⁹And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the ignominy of the nations any more.

³⁰ ایشان خواهند دانست که من خداوند، خدایشان با ایشان هستم و ایشان یعنی قوم اسرائیل، قوم من هستند. خداوند چنین سخن می‌گوید: «شما گوسفندان چراگاه من هستید و من خدای شما.»

³⁰And they shall know that I Jehovah their God [am] with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, saith the Lord Jehovah.

³¹ خداوند چنین سخن می‌گوید: «شما گوسفندان چراگاه من هستید و من خدای شما.»

³¹And ye, my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men: I [am] your God, saith the Lord Jehovah.
