¹ «ای انسان فانی، برای کوههای اسرائیل نبوّت کن و بگو: ای کوههای اسرائیل کلام خداوند را بشنوید.

¹And thou, son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say, Mountains of Israel, hear the word of Jehovah.

² خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید چون دشمن با نیشخند به تو گفت: 'بلندیهای باستانی شما به تصرّف ما درآمده است.'

²Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha! and, The ancient high places are become ours in possession;

³ «بنابراین نبوّت کن و بگو: خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید: 'چون ایشان تو را ویران کردند و از هر سو درهم شکستند آنگاه تو به تصرّف بقیّهٔ ملّتها درآمدی و موضوع غیبت و افترا قرار گرفتی.'

³therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because, yea, because they have made [you] desolate, and have swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the remnant of the nations, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and in the defaming of the people:

⁴ بنابراین ای کوههای اسرائیل، کلام خداوند را بشنوید: خداوند متعال به کوهها، تپّه‌ها، جویبارها، درّه‌‌ها، خرابه‌های ویران و شهرهای متروکی که مورد تاراج و تمسخر ملّتهای همسایه قرار گرفتند چنین می‌فرماید:

⁴therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Jehovah. Thus saith the Lord Jehovah to the mountains and to the hills, to the water-courses and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the cities that are forsaken, which are become a prey and a derision to the remnant of the nations that are round about,

⁵ «من، خداوند متعال در آتش غیرت خود علیه بقیّهٔ ملّتها و برضد تمامی ‌اَدوم سخن گفته‌ام؛ چون ایشان با شادی دل سرزمین مرا به‌خاطر چراگاههایش با خواری تصرّف کردند.

⁵-- therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the remnant of the nations, and against the whole of Edom, which have appointed my land unto themselves for a possession with the joy of all [their] heart, with despite of soul, to plunder it by pillage.

⁶ «بنابراین در مورد سرزمین اسرائیل نبوّت کن و به کوهها، تپّه‌ها، جویبارها و درّه‌ها بگو: خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید: من با غیرتی خشمگین سخن می‌گویم، به‌خاطر اینکه ملّتها آنها را توهین و تحقیر نمودند.

⁶Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains and to the hills, to the water-courses and to the valleys, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because ye have borne the ignominy of the nations;

⁷ بنابراین من، خداوند متعال، به حیات خود قسم می‌خورم و می‌گویم: جدّاً قول می‌دهم که همهٔ ملّتهای اطراف تحقیر خواهند شد.

⁷therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I have lifted up my hand, [saying,] Verily the nations that are about you, they shall bear their shame.

⁸ امّا شما ای کوههای اسرائیل، از شاخه‌های خود جوانه خواهید زد و برای قوم من اسرائیل میوه خواهید داد، زیرا بزودی به خانه باز خواهند گشت.

⁸And ye mountains of Israel shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people Israel: for they are at hand to come.

⁹ من طرف شما هستم و حتماً سرزمین شما دوباره شخم‌زده و زمین شخم خورده، کاشته خواهد شد.

⁹For behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown.

¹⁰ من جمعیّت تو را افزون خواهم کرد، شما در شهرها زندگی خواهید کرد و هر چیزی را که ویرانه رها شده بود، بازسازی خواهید کرد.

¹⁰And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, the whole of it; and the cities shall be inhabited, and the waste places shall be builded.

¹¹ و تعداد انسانها و حیوانات را در تو فزونی خواهم بخشید، ایشان افزون خواهند شد و بارور خواهند گردید و شما را مانند گذشته در آنجا ساکن می‌کنم و شما را بیش از پیش کامیاب خواهم کرد. آنگاه خواهید دانست که من خداوند هستم.

¹¹And I will multiply upon you man and beast, and they shall increase and bring forth fruit; and I will cause you to be inhabited as [in] your former times, yea, I will make it better than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah.

¹² من شما را می‌آورم، قوم خودم اسرائیل را بازمی‌گردانم تا دوباره در سرزمین زندگی کنند. این سرزمین خود شما خواهد بود، دیگر هرگز اجازه نخواهم داد که فرزندان تو گرسنگی بکشند.

¹²And I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them of children.

¹³ «من، خداوند متعال چنین می‌گویم: درست است که مردم می‌گویند این زمین مردم را می‌بلعد و اینکه زمین فرزندان خودش را غارت می‌کند.

¹³Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because they say unto you, Thou devourest men, and hast bereaved thy nation,

¹⁴ امّا دیگر بیش از این، زمین مردم را نخواهد بلعید و فرزندان خود را غارت نخواهد کرد.

¹⁴therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nation any more, saith the Lord Jehovah;

¹⁵ این زمین دیگر مجبور نیست به سخنان تمسخرآمیز اقوام دیگر گوش دهد یا نیشخند دیگران را مشاهده کند. این زمین دیگر فرزندان خود را غارت نخواهد کرد. من، خداوند متعال سخن گفته‌ام.»

¹⁵neither will I cause thee to hear the ignominy of the nations any more, and thou shalt not bear the reproach of the peoples any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nation to fall any more, saith the Lord Jehovah.

¹⁶ کلام خداوند بر من آمد و فرمود:

¹⁶And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

¹⁷ «ای انسان فانی، هنگامی‌که قوم اسرائیل در خاک خود زندگی می‌کرد، آن را با روشها و کردار خویش آلوده ساخت. روش ایشان در نظر من مانند ناپاکی زنی در هنگام عادت ماهانه‌اش بود.

¹⁷Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a woman in her separation.

¹⁸ به‌خاطر خونی که در آن سرزمین ریختند و بُتهایی که آن را آلوده کردند، خشم خود را بر ایشان فرو ریختم.

¹⁸And I poured out my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and because they had defiled it with their idols.

¹⁹ من ایشان را در میان ملّتها پراکنده ساختم و ایشان در میان کشورها پخش شدند و مطابق رفتار و کردارشان ایشان را داوری کردم.

¹⁹And I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.

²⁰ هر کجا رفتند نام مقدّس مرا بی‌حرمت ساختند، زیرا مردم گفتند: 'ایشان قوم خداوند هستند امّا مجبور شدند سرزمین او را ترک کنند.'

²⁰And when they came to the nations whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when it was said of them, These are the people of Jehovah, and they are gone forth out of his land.

²¹ قوم اسرائیل هر جا رفتند نام مرا بی‌حرمت کردند و من به نام مقدّس خود اهمیّت می‌دهم.»

²¹But I had pity for my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations whither they went.

²² پس به قوم اسرائیل بگو خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید: «کاری را که می‌خواهم بکنم به‌خاطر شما نیست، بلکه به‌خاطر نام مقدّس خودم است که شما آن را در هر کشوری که رفتید بی‌حرمت ساختید.

²²Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for my holy name, which ye have profaned among the nations whither ye went.

²³ هنگامی‌که قدّوسیّت نام عظیم خود را به ملّتها نشان دهم، نامی ‌که در میان ایشان بی‌حرمت کردید، آنگاه خواهند دانست که من خداوند هستم. من، خداوند متعال سخن گفته‌ام. من از شما استفاده خواهم کرد تا به ملّتها نشان دهم که من قدّوس هستم.

²³And I will hallow my great name, which was profaned among the nations, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the nations shall know that I [am] Jehovah, saith the Lord Jehovah, when I shall be hallowed in you before their eyes.

²⁴ من شما را از میان قومها بیرون می‌آورم و از همهٔ کشورها جمع می‌کنم و به سرزمین خودتان باز خواهم گرداند.

²⁴And I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all the countries, and will bring you into your own land.

²⁵ آب پاک به شما خواهم پاشید و شما از همهٔ آلودگی‌ها پاک خواهید شد و از همهٔ بُتها شما را پاک خواهم کرد.

²⁵And I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your uncleannesses and from all your idols will I cleanse you.

²⁶ دلی تازه به شما خواهم داد و روح تازه‌ای در شما خواهم گذاشت و دل سنگی را از شما بیرون می‌کنم و دلی گوشتین به شما خواهم داد.

²⁶And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

²⁷ روح خود را در اندرون شما خواهم نهاد و شما را پیرو قوانین خود خواهم ساخت تا با دقّت دستورات مرا بجا آورید.

²⁷And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and keep mine ordinances, and ye shall do them.

²⁸ آنگاه در سرزمینی که به نیاکان شما دادم، زندگی خواهید کرد و قوم من خواهید بود و من خدای شما خواهم بود.

²⁸And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

²⁹ شما را از همهٔ آلودگی‌ها نجات خواهم داد غلاّت را فزونی می‌بخشم و دیگر شما را دچار قحطی نخواهم کرد.

²⁹And I will save you from all your uncleannesses; and I will call for the corn and will multiply it, and lay no famine upon you.

³⁰ میوهٔ درختان و محصول کشتزار را فراوان خواهم کرد تا دیگر هرگز از شرمساریِ گرسنگی در میان ملّتها رنج نبرید.

³⁰And I will multiply the fruit of the trees and the increase of the field, so that ye may receive no more the reproach of famine among the nations.

³¹ آنگاه روشهای پلید و کردار زشت خود را به یاد خواهید آورد و از خطاها و کارهای پلید خود بیزار خواهید شد.

³¹And ye shall remember your evil ways, and your doings which were not good, and shall loathe yourselves for your iniquities and for your abominations.

³² بدانید که من این کار را به‌خاطر شما انجام نداده‌ام. پس ای قوم اسرائیل به سبب روشهای خود شرمسار و سرشکسته باشید. من، خداوند متعال سخن گفته‌ام.»

³²Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord Jehovah, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel.

³³ خداوند متعال می‌فرماید: «هنگامی‌که شما را از همهٔ گناهانتان پاک سازم، اجازه خواهم داد دوباره در شهرهای خود زندگی کنید و ویرانه‌ها را بازسازی کنید.

³³Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In the day that I shall cleanse you from all your iniquities I will also cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be builded.

³⁴ زمینی که در نظر رهگذران بایر بود شخم زده خواهد شد

³⁴And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it was a desolation in the sight of all that passed by.

³⁵ و همهٔ مردم خواهند گفت: 'این زمینِ بایر مانند باغ عَدَن گردیده است. و شهرهایی که خراب و ویران و منهدم بودند، مستحکم و مسکونی شده‌اند.'

³⁵And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities [are] fortified [and] inhabited.

³⁶ آنگاه ملل همسایه که هنوز باقی مانده‌اند خواهند دانست که من، خداوند شهرهای ویران را بازسازی کرده‌ام و زمینهای بایر را دوباره کاشته‌ام. من، خداوند چنین گفته‌ام و آن را انجام خواهم داد.»

³⁶And the nations that shall be left round about you shall know that I Jehovah build the ruined places [and] plant that which was desolate: I Jehovah have spoken, and I will do [it].

³⁷ خداوند متعال می‌فرماید: «بار دیگر دعاهای قوم اسرائیل را اجابت می‌کنم و جمعیّت ایشان را مانند گلّهٔ گوسفند زیاد می‌سازم. همان‌طور که شهر اورشلیم در گذشته، در روزهای عید پُر از گوسفندان قربانی می‌شد، شهرهای ویران و متروک هم از جمعیّت پُر می‌گردند. آنگاه همه خواهند دانست که من، خداوند متعال هستم.»

³⁷Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will yet for this be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it unto them; I will increase them with men like a flock.

³⁸ همان‌طور که شهر اورشلیم در گذشته، در روزهای عید پُر از گوسفندان قربانی می‌شد، شهرهای ویران و متروک هم از جمعیّت پُر می‌گردند. آنگاه همه خواهند دانست که من، خداوند متعال هستم.»

³⁸As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her set feasts, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah.
