¹Împărăteasa din Seba a auzit de faima lui Solomon, în ce priveşte slava Domnului, şi avenit să -l încerce prin întrebări grele.

¹When the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of Yahweh, she came to prove him with hard questions.

²A sosit la Ierusalim cu un alai foarte mare, şi cu cămile cari aduceau mirodenii, aur foarte mult, şi pietre scumpe. S'a dus la Solomon şi i -a spus tot ce avea pe inimă.

²She came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bore spices, and very much gold, and precious stones; and when she had come to Solomon, she talked with him of all that was in her heart.

³Solomon i -a răspuns la toate întrebările, şi n'a fost nimic, pe care împăratul să nu fi ştiut să i -l lămurească.

³Solomon told her all her questions: there was not anything hidden from the king which he didn’t tell her.

⁴Împărăteasa din Seba a văzut toată înţelepciunea lui Solomon, şi casa pe care o zidise,

⁴When the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,

⁵şi bucatele dela masa lui, şi locuinţa slujitorilor lui, şi slujbele şi hainele celor ce -i slujeau, şi paharnicii lui, şi arderile de tot pe cari le aducea în Casa Domnului.

⁵and the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their clothing, and his cup bearers, and his ascent by which he went up to the house of Yahweh; there was no more spirit in her.

⁶Uimită, a zis împăratului: ,,Deci era adevărat ce am auzit în ţara mea despre faptele şi înţelepciunea ta!

⁶She said to the king, “It was a true report that I heard in my own land of your acts, and of your wisdom.

⁷Dar nu credeam, pînă n'am venit şi n'am văzut cu ochii mei. Şi iată că nici pe jumătate nu mi s'a spus. Tu ai mai multă înţelepciune şi propăşire de cît am auzit mergîndu-ţi faima.

⁷However I didn’t believe the words, until I came, and my eyes had seen it. Behold, the half was not told me! Your wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame which I heard.

⁸Ferice de oamenii tăi, ferice de slujitorii tăi, cari sînt necurmat înaintea ta, cari aud înţelepciunea ta!

⁸Happy are your men, happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you, who hear your wisdom.

⁹Binecuvîntat să fie Domnul, Dumnezeul tău, care a binevoit să te pună pe scaunul de domnie al lui Israel! Pentrucă Domnul iubeşte pentru totdeauna pe Israel, de aceea te -a pus împărat, ca să judeci şi să faci dreptate.``

⁹Blessed is Yahweh your God, who delighted in you, to set you on the throne of Israel. Because Yahweh loved Israel forever, therefore made he you king, to do justice and righteousness.”

¹⁰Ea a dat împăratului o sută douăzeci de talanţi de aur, foarte multe mirodenii, şi pietre scumpe. N'au mai venit niciodată în urmă atîtea mirodenii cîte a dat împărăteasa din Seba împăratului Solomon.

¹⁰She gave the king one hundred twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones. There came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.

¹¹Corăbiile lui Hiram, cari au adus aur din Ofir, au adus din Ofir şi foarte mult lemn de santal şi pietre scumpe.

¹¹The navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees and precious stones.

¹²Împăratul a făcut cu lemnul mirositor pălimare pentru Casa Domnului şi pentru casa împăratului, şi arfe şi alăute pentru cîntăreţi. N'a mai venit de atunci lemn de acesta mirositor, şi nu s'a mai văzut pînă în ziua de azi.

¹²The king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of Yahweh, and for the king’s house, harps also and stringed instruments for the singers: there came no such almug trees, nor were seen, to this day.

¹³Împăratul Solomon a dat împărătesei din Seba tot ce a dorit, tot ce a cerut, şi i -a mai dat şi pe deasupra daruri vrednice de un împărat ca Solomon. Apoi ea s'a întors şi s'a dus în ţara ei, cu slujitorii ei.

¹³King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, besides that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned, and went to her own land, she and her servants.

¹⁴Greutatea aurului care venea lui Solomon pe fiecare an, era de şase sute şase zeci şi şase de talanţi de aur,

¹⁴Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred sixty-six talents of gold,

¹⁵afară de ce scotea dela negustorii cei mari şi din negoţul cu mărfuri, dela toţi împăraţii Arabiei, şi dela dregătorii ţării.

¹⁵besides that which the traders brought, and the traffic of the merchants, and of all the kings of the mixed people, and of the governors of the country.

¹⁶Împăratul Solomon a făcut două sute de scuturi mari de aur bătut, şi pentru fiecare din ele a întrebuinţat şase sute de sicli de aur,

¹⁶King Solomon made two hundred bucklers of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of gold went to one buckler.

¹⁷şi alte trei sute de scuturi mici de aur bătut, şi pentru fie care din ele a întrebuinţat trei mine de aur; şi împăratul le -a pus în casa numită Pădurea Libanului.

¹⁷he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three minas of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

¹⁸Împăratul a făcut un mare scaun de domnie de fildeş, şi l -a acoperit cu aur curat.

¹⁸Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the finest gold.

¹⁹Scaunul acesta de domnie avea şase trepte, şi partea de sus era rotunjită pe dinapoi, de fiecare parte a scaunului erau răzimători: lîngă răzimători stăteau doi lei,

¹⁹There were six steps to the throne, and the top of the throne was round behind; and there were stays on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the stays.

²⁰şi pe cele şase trepte stăteau doisprezece lei de o parte şi de alta. Aşa ceva nu s'a făcut pentru nici o împărăţie.

²⁰Twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other on the six steps: there was nothing like it made in any kingdom.

²¹Toate paharele împăratului Solomon erau de aur, şi toate vasele din casa pădurii Libanului erau de aur curat. Nimic nu era de argint: pe vremea lui Solomon argintul n'avea nici o trecere.

²¹All king Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: none were of silver; it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon.

²²Căci împăratul avea pe mare corăbii din Tars cu ale lui Hiram; şi corăbiile din Tars veneau la fiecare trei ani, aducînd aur şi argint, fildeş, maimuţe şi păuni.

²²For the king had at sea a navy of Tarshish with the navy of Hiram: once every three years came the navy of Tarshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

²³Împăratul Solomon a întrecut pe toţi împăraţii pămîntului în bogăţii şi înţelepciune.

²³So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom.

²⁴Toată lumea căuta să vadă pe Solomon, ca să audă înţelepciunea pe care o pusese Dumnezeu în inima lui.

²⁴All the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

²⁵Şi fie care îşi aducea darul lui: lucruri de argint şi lucruri de aur, haine, arme, mirodenii, cai şi catîri; aşa era în fiecare an.

²⁵They brought every man his tribute, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and clothing, and armor, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.

²⁶Solomon a strîns cară şi călărime; avea o mie patru sute de cară şi douăsprezece mii de călăreţi, pe cari i -a pus în cetăţile unde îşi ţinea carăle şi la Ierusalim lîngă împărat.

²⁶Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

²⁷Împăratul a făcut ca argintul să fie tot aşa de obicinuit la Ierusalim ca pietrele, şi cedrii tot aşa de mulţi ca smochinii din Egipt cari cresc pe cîmpie.

²⁷The king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycamore trees that are in the lowland, for abundance.

²⁸Solomon îşi aducea caii din Egipt; o ceată de negustori de ai împăratului se ducea să -i ia cu grămada pe un preţ hotărît:

²⁸The horses which Solomon had were brought out of Egypt; and the king’s merchants received them in droves, each drove at a price.

²⁹un car se aducea din Egipt cu şase sute de sicli de argint, şi un cal cu o sută cincizeci de sicli. Deasemenea aduceau cai cu ei pentru toţi împăraţii Hetiţilor şi pentru împăraţii Siriei.

²⁹A chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for one hundred fifty; and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, they brought them out by their means.
