¹Vă îndemn dar, înainte de toate, să faceţi rugăciuni, cereri, mijlociri, mulţămiri pentru toţi oamenii,

¹I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men:

²pentru împăraţi şi pentru toţi cei ce sînt înălţaţi în dregătorii, ca să putem duce astfel o viaţă pacinică şi liniştită, cu toată evlavia şi cu toată cinstea.

²for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.

³Lucrul acesta este bun şi bine primit înaintea lui Dumnezeu, Mîntuitorul nostru,

³For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior;

⁴care voieşte ca toţi oamenii să fie mîntuiţi şi să vină la cunoştinţa adevărului.

⁴who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth.

⁵Căci este un singur Dumnezeu, şi este un singur mijlocitor între Dumnezeu şi oameni: Omul Isus Hristos,

⁵For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

⁶care S'a dat pe Sine însuş, ca preţ de răscumpărare pentru toţi: faptul acesta trebuia adeverit la vremea cuvenită,

⁶who gave himself as a ransom for all; the testimony in its own times;

⁷şi propovăduitorul şi apostolul lui am fost pus eu-spun adevărul în Hristos, nu mint-ca să învăţ pe Neamuri credinţa şi adevărul.

⁷to which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth in Christ, not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

⁸Vreau dar ca bărbaţii să se roage în orice loc, şi să ridice spre cer mîni curate, fără mînie şi fără îndoieli.

⁸I desire therefore that the men in every place pray, lifting up holy hands without anger and doubting.

⁹Vreau, deasemenea, ca femeile să se roage îmbrăcate în chip cuviincios, cu ruşine şi sfială; nu cu împletituri de păr, nici cu aur, nici cu mărgăritare, nici cu haine scumpe,

⁹In the same way, that women also adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and propriety; not just with braided hair, gold, pearls, or expensive clothing;

¹⁰ci cu fapte bune, cum se cuvine femeilor cari spun că sînt evlavioase.

¹⁰but (which becomes women professing godliness) with good works.

¹¹Femeia să înveţe în tăcere, cu toată supunerea.

¹¹Let a woman learn in quietness with all subjection.

¹²Femeii nu -i dau voie să înveţe pe alţii, nici să se ridice mai pe sus de bărbat, ci să stea în tăcere.

¹²But I don’t permit a woman to teach, nor to exercise authority over a man, but to be in quietness.

¹³Căci întîi a fost întocmit Adam, şi apoi Eva.

¹³For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

¹⁴Şi nu Adam a fost amăgit; ci femeia, fiind amăgită, s'a făcut vinovată de călcarea poruncii.

¹⁴Adam wasn’t deceived, but the woman, being deceived, has fallen into disobedience;

¹⁵Totuş ea va fi mîntuită prin naşterea de fii, dacă stăruiesc cu smerenie în credinţă, în dragoste şi în sfinţenie.

¹⁵but she will be saved through her childbearing, if they continue in faith, love, and sanctification with sobriety.
